Can we remove the “scouse lover” tags, now that everyone of us that wanted Liverpool to beat City to end their unbeaten season because we knew Liverpool would then go and lose to some low grade side has been completely and utterly vindicated.

Couldn't agree more, it was so obvious it's untrue

Nah, only at the end of the season and when it's mathematically impossible for them to go above United :wenger:

It’s too obvious.
Delighted at how it’s all panned out!

Many many people in here predicted a Liverpool mess up following beating city, refusing to buy into the notion that they suddenly became unstoppable. The results of Liverpool city and Swansea liveroool were a best case scenario for united, or at least fans who want to see us apply some pressure to city as the season progresses.

Time to eat humble pie and change tag lines back then normal.

Oh feck so the tag refers to this, I thought it was some random joke :lol::lol: I'm not a Scouse lover at all but I am still happy that City's run was ruined. Also, good job by the dippers tonight, was quite sure it will happen rather soon

Part of me thinks @Niall changed the tagline style so He could fit more than one tagline per person (it'll look weird to have 2 ribbons) in order to give @Ban both the City and Scouse Lover tags.

I swear it happened almost at the same time!

Nah, keep the tags on. We've been vindicated this week.

Yesterday was the clear reason why I wanted them to beat City. Didn't matter if they came close to us following that match, Liverpool will always bottle it against smaller teams like Swansea.

The results were the best outcome for us, other than City not being damaged by the defeat and going on a bad run. That was perhaps too much to hope for.

Still, eight points ahead of Liverpool and City’s invincibles season dead. I’m offended by being given this scouse lover tag and apologise for nothing!

Clueless at maths. Typical scouse behaviour.

No they weren't. We still haven't got a hope of catching City and we could be 9 points ahead of Liverpool, instead of 6.

No it wasn't the best case scenario. That would have been Liverpool losing both games.

I think the problem was that what started as a central, worse of two evils-type conversation became a polarised bun fight. In truth there's nothing wrong with preferring a Liverpool win because you're sick of City's streak and you suspect Liverpool would balls up against lower opposition and there's nothing wrong with preferring City as the chances of us catching them are slim and Liverpool are our closest rivals in the table mathematically.

Personally I went City or draw as I've written the league off and would prefer us to nail down second place, but the alternative clearly had merit given Liverpool's hijinks yesterday. It was an interesting conversation until people started acting like there was a clear right or wrong, then it got silly and banners got handed out

Did you truly expect Liverpool to get beaten yesterday?
Back on planet earth I think most of us put Swansea down for a hammering

It’s still too tight to call in top 4, though the extra 3 points difference is welcome.

Lads before you all get your panties in a bunch the banners were only intended as a temporary but of craic. So those who took it otherwise can stop their crying soon and those who took it as a bit of craic then fair play to you

If you obsess over the team behind us then yes. Whether we finish above them or not depends on our results not theirs. It's in our hands.

Not to mention that most people weren't even cheering for Liverpool and would have been happy for them to lose but when they won, people were able to enjoy the pathetic notions of city being some sort of football gods being shut up. If not pounding on my chest and shouting about Liverpool all the time makes me a lover of them that's pretty sad.

I'm well documented here as despising Liverpool and enjoying seein city lose doesn't compromise that. For multiple reasons

The banners don't bother me all that much, moreso the indignant attitude of posters at the time who acted like it was treason to enjoy the city run end

Our problem is we always suffer a hangover after a big win

It happened earlier in the season when we beat Arsenal 4-0, we immediately got tonked by City at the Etihad and then suffered draws against Sevilla and Burnley.

Last year, we beat Arsenal 4-3 and then lost the next game to Burnley. We beat Man City 1-0, then drew the next game against Sunderland. We beat Spurs 2-0, then lost the next game to Leicester.

Up until yesterday the 3 games we had lost, only one of them was to a bottom half team

We've drawn too many as well

We need the ability that you guys had for 20 years in grinding out results on a regurlarly basis when having an off day

I think they're pretty funny. A few more city lover ones are needed. But as I said above, what wasn't funny was the idea at the time that to enjoy the city defeat was treasonous was a bit nauseating

What GB said.

The Scouse Lover tags have been removed for those who didn't kick up a big fuss (that's you @Ban). So you can all enjoy the restoration of your good names (except you @Ban).

Have a pleasant day (not you @Ban).

;)

I don’t think I will understand the reasoning of “I don’t want to see city going unbeaten”. Was never going to happen.

That’s what got me not those who said that they live in hope of city getting caught.

Oh and the one guy who said he literally punched the air with joy. Weirdo
