I know it's not gonna happen but I really want Lukaku dropped for this. Start Martial up front with Sanchez and Lingard supporting and the obvious midfield 3. That team would be too much for spurs

@RedRom , if you want to have any chance of Jose picking you for tonights game you should get off the caf and focus on the buildup to the game.

Sanchez on the right is no good, his daily bread and butter is to cut in and look for a one-two, shot or take-on. If Spurs had Tobey I‘d say sacrifice Lukaku in order to play Martial but with their current defence I expect a 4-2-3-1 with Sanchez on the left and no Martial.
No good? And this is based on?
His stats shows his best numbers came from playing on the right. Because Arsenal played him there does not mean he hasn't delivered or wont deliver elsewhere.

    Probably something like this:

    DDG
    Valencia-Lindelof-Smalling-Jones-Young
    Matic-Herrera-Pogba
    Lindgard-Ibrahimovic(maybe Lukaku)

So is everyone excited for this? Nervous? I have to say I'm more confident than usual. This is a huge game for both teams but I don't have the usual pre match nerves yet.

    Ah for feck sake.

    Changing my lineup to:

    Sanchez - Lukaku - Mata

    Pogba - Matic - Herrera
That right hand side of midfield is not very good :smirk:

I don't know, Herrera makes sense, but Mata? Away to a top team, probably sitting back with less possession?

I just don't know what to think about the result in this game. On paper our team should be able to cause Spurs enough problems but as I said earlier, we very rarely preform away from home against good sides.

I feel like we've been good at Wembley recently so I'm quietly confident about this one - especially with Sanchez in the side! Hope to see Martial, Lingard and Sanchez start behind Lukaku (who's been quietly excellent recently). Going for a 3-1 win.

How often in those previous games did we have Sanchez available?

So not quite sure what those games have to do with this one??

I'm actually wildly confident...I realize that realistically I shouldn't be hahah

Hard one to predict. On form/talent, you'd most likely go with:

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Young
    Lingard Matic Pogba
    Sanchez Lukaku Martial
Jose did go with a 3 man midfield of Pogba, Lingard and Matic away to Arsenal, but he had five at the back, and to be fair, we still conceded quite a few chances.

Question is, can we stay nice and tight, but be a threat on the counter with the same three in a 433?

It's not like Jose to be so open, especially away, but he may think with the front three we could potentially put out tonight, that we will have too much firepower for Spurs and outscore them.

Other option is that he takes out Lingard/Martial/Sanchez and goes solidifies it a bit with Fellaini or Herrera coming in.

Interested to see what Jose will do.

I predicted 2-2, and would take it in a heartbeat. As the week's progressed, I've become more doubtful that we will get a result. Shitting bricks.
I wouldn't take a result that meant Dave conceded multiple goals!
I never like to see that happen, and this doesn't change for tonight's match.

Initially excited given our form and getting Sanchez. Now nervous as feck.

Well, I doubt Sancez will transform us completely and I hope you don't think so? He will improve us, make us a better team but I still think we have a way to go yet.
