We're not going to improve anymore under Jose. In terms of football.

He has all the players he need to play good counter attacking football. We look drunk and no amount of talent is going to change that. Simply because its 11 individuals and its a fecking team sport that needs a lot of cohesion.

I was hoping he would be the next Vidic.

We would always have defensive problem till we get the defenders who has balls.
To be fair, I don't even blame Lindelof or Young for that goal. It was a massively deflected goal from outside the box. You really couldn't make opponent to have zero shot on goals. Lindelof or Young could be closing the space fast enough, but I think it is more of zonal defending right on the edge of 18 yrds box.

    Truly shocking first half.

No runs. Static in attack. Awful passing, and hoof ball in full swing.

Young - giving the ball away far too much, getting crowded out immediately due to no support

Lindelof - shaky at the start but no real issues

Smalling - didn't close down benteke quick enough, not been great aerially

Valencia - hasn't done much to make me annoyed.

Matic - multiple misplaced passes and missed tackles to leave us in a dangerous position. Not his usual self

McTominay - not done a lot, easily dispossessed and that tackle was very poor

Pogba - lazy, poor passing, so bad

Lingard - would like him to get wider, shame he missed the pass out wide

Sanchez - not great, at least trying some runs, control letting him down

Lukaku - no service for him, needs to show more strength

They need to pick things up big time. I'm aware of the whole negativity thing but there's genuinely not a positive thing to say about that half, it's been abysmal and slow

That was unacceptable for a united side. I'm going to start turning the game off as soon as we go behind in future.

Sure I'll miss us win once every twenty times, but I'll save what's left of my hair.

36 years I've been watching united, and I've seen some shit in the early days. But never a united side who give up once they're behind.

What has happened to Pogba? He looks completely lost and don't wanna play

Problem is we don't have a plan. Just playing like a bunch of individuals trying to do something.

That players can pass is an issue. But you have to ask yourself, why did we go into a game against Palace with the intention of allowing them to play?

This, im baffled by him getting first choice.

It seems every manager has a pet,

Under Moyes it was Januzai, Under Van Gaal it was Rashford and now under Jose its McTominay.
Januzay and Rashford showed some interesting things, you cannot deny that. I feel Mourinho backed himself into a corner with the OTT praising of McTominay, he's simply playing because there are injuries and others are underperforming. Not because he's good

Can't blame Lindelof for that. If anything Young was lazy getting across, again.
Yes you can, he turned to the side as though he was trying to avoid getting hit, if he'd stayed square on he'd have stopped it, the shithouse!

The technical excellence of our repertoire extends to much more distant heights, ones we haven't observed thus far in this here commotion. Unfortunately, the Scathophagidae are not mere outliers and the air surrounding our group of heroes carries the odor of manure.

I think Jose should invite SAF into the dressing room at half-time in situations like this.
Why dont we just bring him back then. And Saf was never the tactical genius. If Jose can't motivate these players then he has no place here.

Jose needs to do something about the coaching. We look like we do feck all except the basics - that's unacceptable especially at this level. How the feck can Crystal Palace look more of a team than we do?! All this money spent and we can't get some good coaching. Sick of it.
Embarrassing shite from manager and players.

I don't know what Mourinho has been doing/working on since being here. shameful stuff
I don't see how this is to do with Jose.

Is it his fault that Pogba is playing like he's in the park?
Is it his fault that Sanchez is losing the ball at every opportunity?
Is it his fault that Hennessey saved point blank from Sanchez?
Is it his fault Matic can't handle the Crystal Palace midfield?

The way some of you talk you'd think he's actively out on the pitch sabotaging the players. The players, and our so-called "superstars" are letting him down massively. We're becoming fecking Instagram FC.

    Never Mourinho’s fault is it.

He’s had the team for how long? And it’s still so disjointed. feck knows what they do on the training ground.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
We may be a goal down, but the negativity seems a tad excessive.

The passing in general has been sloppy, but Mourinho's plan seems fine. If only we could utilize our width a tad more and find Young/Valencia when they make runs, we would be having many more chances. However, our thrust from midfield, specifically Pogba, has been non-existent. Lingard and Sanchez have been needing to drop central and deep too many times to pose a threat up the pitch. If Pogba wakes up and imposes himself on the game, we'll get our chances. He's also been at fault for the goal, along with our central defenders who have been atrocious today.

I am concerned about why Bailly doesn't start. Neither Smalling nor Lindelof seem to be dealing particularly well, either in the air, in physical battles, in interceptions or passing out from the back. Very very shaky. I think we'll improve in the second half, but it won't be enough if our defence fecks up. Jose needs to fix our CBs first in the summer.

Isn't Palace playing, down to our players not playing well

Sanchez having an off game looks about the same as Mikhi's average performance.

Should tell you enough about which player is the better choice.
I don't doubt Sanchez is the better player. His performances for us so far though have not been much better than what Mkhi gave us.

Picked up where we left off at Newcastle. Absolutely awful. total dross. full backs all over the place. for the thousandth time, I say we need proper fullbacks not makeshift ones. Valencia and Young have been a joke but Pogba has been worse. sanchez is a joke too. we haven't strung more than two passes together. and it all started with letting Palace dictate the pace from the very first minute. crap

I still don't understand how some fans think Pogba's any where near as good as De Bruyne, let alone "the best midfielder in the league".
I'd say they are both the same thing. Best midfielder in the league and De Bruyne.

Everyone in this thread is talking about how bad were doing and im sitting here thinking we've actually been pretty decent aside from the fluke goal they got.
You are entitled to your opinion of course, and if you are happy with what you've seen then fair enough.

But for me, it seems your expectations might be a tad too low. We should be playing much, much better again this relegation fodder.

Exactly. We're Manchester United. We should be destroying teams like this. Granted palace are playing out of their skins. But our players are at 30 percent.

If there's one thing Lingard offers, it's hard work, and alot of running. Think that might be what we need in the middle.
Yeah I agree with his hard work and running, but its composure I think we need more. Lingard's going to have a mind to get forward, yes he will work and run, but mainly to get ahead and not to instill calm around his teammates.
