The thing I love most about him is how direct he is. Early crosses, pass and move or whatever he does he doesn't hold the ball or body still.

What a strange season Herrera has had. Surprisingly poor early on. Very impressive in the last month or so.

Yeah at the beginning in the match he was the first of our players to just play it forward or chip it into the box, not only relieving some pressure but also creating some legitimate trouble for Spurs.

He's done very well in a good amount of very big games for us now, massive credits to him.

He is a proper united player. Totally deserves all the plaudits after many kept thinking that selling him is the best option.

He needs to stay at United. A big game player and he never hides.
Yeah, exactly what we need in the team. He was immense after a shaky start. Maybe Pogba - Matic - Herrera has a future after all. They've been good the last few games and got the best out of Pogba.

Pity he wasn't performing well at the start of the season but no question he has been in great form the last few weeks. Very important to have a player like him in there to compliment Matic and Pogba. Please keep this up Ander.

Still wish he wasn't so direct at times with the ball, but he was a colossus defensively today.

Hasn't had the easiest season but that's a big goal to top off a big, brawling midfield performance.

brawling midfield performance.
Great choice of word because that is what it was. He loves to get stuck in and make it a scrap but he can add that silk when ever he feels like it. Proper battler that wouldn’t have gone a miss against players like Vieira,Keane, Ince and the likes.

Glad for him — he proved the doubters wrong, thankfully. Probably my favourite player in the current side along with De Gea.

It's going to be a very, very sad day for me when Herrera leaves United.

I just love how the oppo fans despise him with a passion!

My MOTM, he was key in getting control in midfield after we were swamped, and then smashed home the winner.

My liverpool supporting mate loves him to bits! Calls him “‘the cnut‘ i would love to have i my team“ says he is the only midfielder he would pick from our team.

Considering their midfield consist of Hendo la, Wijnaldaum, Milner and Ox and we have this guy named Pogba it should tell you everything about his degree of delusion.

Brilliant game. Fantastic performance hope he’s still here next season. He’s better than Matic and I rate him highly.

He can't play the Matic role that well. The question with Herrera is always does he do enough, but today he was really good.
He's given himself a real chance of being a regular starter next year I think. Before this last few games, I think he was definitely destined for squad role material only.

Was saying to my mate about 30 secs before his goal, how well we thought Herrera was playing and then bang

He played the Matic role pretty well in mid week but I do know what you mean. As you say let’s hope that pushes him toward the first 11 for next season....

The most underrated shithouse in the PL. He actually tried to do a rugby ankle tap on Alli in the first half. A snide for all seasons.

Replace one of (if not the) best player(s) in the side?

Don't think so. They play completely different roles for a start.
Matic is a good player, I agree. But I think that Herrera's qualities are his defensive ones. He played very well as the sole #6 in midweek and for most of last year. Against Liverpool away he won the ball back about 16 times or something like that and he also played there in the Europa League final. His mobility and energy are very useful to the team, so I think we'd be better with him holding and someone to control the game ahead of him with Pogba.

Would like to see a complete touch compilation.

He had some lolwtf moments and then plenty of incredibly silky touches, passes and good defensive work.

Love him. Great game from him. 1 thing I noticed today which I never did before was how scrawny he is. He must have the smallest arms I've ever seen on a male athlete.

Why do pundits continually make out that he's a cnut of a player?
Im genuinely baffled at this.
What's wrong with that claim? The more people hate him, the better. The more cnut Herrera is to other team, the better it is for us.
