Depends. A lot of the journalists can be a bit more believable, like if Duncan Castles (who has a half decent track record on Mourinho related matters that arent transfer related), or someone similar said this then fair enough. A fecking ITV presenter who's only connection to the club is the status of a fan probably knows feck all.
If Mourinho has indeed lost the dressing room, Castles is the last person we hear it from.
Hope it's not the case but don't think anyone can be surprised.

Seemingly not a sports TV presenter however? Strongly doubt he has any links whatsoever. Presenters have no place in reporting garbage. Leave the journalism to the sports journos.
I would imagine he has far more links than your average sports journo. The man is a big deal in the uK, a massive united fan and can probably call up Fergie if the need takes him.
Like I was saying to that other bloke who didn’t know him, Eamonn can probably just walk about OT or Carrington with absolute freedom. He’s probably pally with a lot of the staff including the likes of Fergie, Bobby, Woodward and so on.

He’s mates with Fergie, has connections at the club and regularly at OT and United functions. He’s not the type to make things up on Twitter either because frankly as a major TV personality he is too big for that.

Kevin Palmer just tweeted the same (credit to @FujiVice) who started a thread on it. That’s 2 in short succession that there’s unrest in the team

Jose falling out with players prior to his 3rd season shouldn't surprise anybody.

Liverpool went on a good run (with a pretty easy draw) in the Champions League granted; they also bombed in the FA Cup and struggled against Stoke, Everton, West Brom, Burnley, Watford in the league.

As for Pep, nobody on here was praising his tactical versatlity last season before he got hold of a squad that made the need to be tactically versatile null.

But how does that point make sense when my point was that the attackers are having to protect the defense? Your counter is that we should cut the protection to the detriment of overall performance?
A cohesive offensive structure does not mean you have to cut defensive protection. Our defensive approach has also resulted in many stressful performances when finishing out games so it’s not like we’ve been giants at the back. Regardless, I still don’t believe that our defenders are that bad. We need improvements there, yes, but I’m not buying this notion that we need everyone to assist in the back because the defenders are so crap.

Completely. He's big mates with Fergie so he's bound to have other high-level contacts.

Doesn't matter how reputable a person is, there's always someone on this forum who is quick to call them bullshitting know-nothings.

True I think the best line so far has been that Duncan Castle is more reputable than Eamonn. Duncan Castle wouldn’t be fit to lick the dirt of Eamonns shoes.

Isn't Eamon Holmes that round dude on Sky News? If so he's a big United fan and I doubt he's talk nonsense.

Shouldnt the players be looking at themselves and taking some responsibility? Pogba missing an open goal,Jones woeful,Rashford and Lingard anonymous, sounds like a dressing room full of primadonas if they are pinning things onto the manager! Lets face it they were garbage under the previous manager not just the current one!

Ok but that's just an opinion contradicted by the evidence we just discussed.

Isn't Holmes dead chummy with Fergie? Hardly lacking connections I doubt.

Also don't know why it would shock anyone. Just look at Mourinho's history ffs.

I genuinely thought he'd change after managing United, because you know, seemed like this was his "dream" job, and always spoke well about us and SAF.

The thing with City last season and Liverpool this season, you can see a clear team identity. You can see what they are trying to do and where their failures are coming from.

We don't have a team identity at all. We are not great defensively, we are not great on the counter and we are not great on the ball.

You cant just change, he is what he is. He wanted to stay at Chelsea longer too, but he is a manager who just isnt able to stay at a club for a long time for various reasons. And he also wont change enough to make it happen. Always the same shit.

Mourinho's first 8 seasons (2002-2010: Porto, Chelsea, Inter):

6 league titles
2 Champions League titles
3 main national cup titles
2 league cup titles
1 UEFA cup title

Mourinho's last 8 seasons (2010-2018: Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United)

2 league titles
0 Champions League titles
1 main national cup title
2 league cup titles
1 Europa League title

A world of difference.
Real Madrid broke him somehow...

Sadly, in this case, yes. I was as happy as the next guy when United hired him. I thought he'd be this 'perfect' manager for us, where the club could give him every support he could get.

But, man..., I don't know when and where it all goes wrong. It feels like when we bought Mata, then Sanchez. The expectation and reality is so far apart.

I’d honestly accept zero new signings if I was confident we had a manager capable and willing to get the very best out of what we have. I don’t think Mourinho is that manager but, depressingly, he’s going nowhere and I’m not even sure there’s an obvious alternative. So I’m fully expecting a re-run of this season, no matter how many new players we sign. Generally effective but ultimately joyless football with Mourinho moaning and groaning his way through the season, looking to blame anyone but himself for any adversity.
That's fair enough though we of course disagree. I don't defend everything he does, what he says, how he reacts etc. But I honestly think he's the best option for us at the moment, continue with the rebuild and back him in the summer. I agree with what he had to say about our history, ambition and that the current reality of our squad just isn't anywhere near to that (though I don't agree with going public with that, even if it's not about ego but to leverage the board..).

I guess a lot of posters see that differently. To me it's obvious our squad, our first XI, is not anywhere near the top level. There are so many issues, and not just in terms of getting players in their correct positions, but not least in terms of mentality.

The thought of Jose being at the helm next season depresses many of the posters on here, but honestly, that's how I'd feel if we'd get a new manager and all the players who have consistently failed under 2 or 3 managers would yet again get a chance to fail.

I look at top clubs and quite obviously, their players are better, in terms of quality, mentality...name it. I do agree though with the calls for a DoF to try to find some cohesion in our short-term and long-term planning.

Im alternating between 'He'll be okay, give him time to rebuild' and 'somethings off, im not sure this will work'.

He needs to have a very good season next year, and a good summer before that.

The upside i think is that no matter what happens with him, we will have a decent squad when he leaves, unlike the one he inherited.

Obertans #1 fan.
You are not seriously comparing Moyes and LVG's 15/16 season with this one are you?
Some people have got terrible memories.

Do they forget how tumescent and boring the football was under LVG? David De Gea was our best player FFS. We spent millions on players that by the end of the season were nowhere near the first team. In Europe we got knocked out by a team on a fraction of our budget with an embarrassing performance. Some of our best players were hangovers from Ferguson’s era and our goals to game ratio was pathetic with other teams scoring way more than us. At least we got to an FA Cup final that year though.

Plenty of similarities when you point it out but Jose looks much cooler in a white shirt than LVG ever did however.

De Gea was our best player this season.

It's not at the consistently tumescent levels of Van Gaal, but it's not that far away either. Some of the games this season could of easily passed for Van Gaal era games.

That was exactly his point. It was sarcasm.

Like he would change to a more expansive brand of football?
