Haven't seen much of him, is he an upgrade on Herrera as I'm guessing that will be his replacement?

Involved in a friendly at Anfield soon, if it is indeed true, will likely have a medical/sign terms during this period before heading to Russia.

And stuck to his guns, despite Di Marzio, Bouhfasi and an army of Twitter transfer muppets (incorrectly) claiming we were in negotiations for Fabinho.
Yeah, he reported we are in for Matic in May (think Jamie Jackson later reported in June) and always said we are not in for Fabinho, got shit load of abuses though.

Apparantley he is 5ft 6 inches.

Mourinho must be confused or misread it as 6ft 5 inches.

Fred would indicate to me Mourinhobis willing to adapt to the changes in the game instead of sticking with building a squad of giants. I have only seen Fred play a few times but I think stylistically what he provides is alot of what we're missing to increase the tempo of our passing and as am active destroyer in midfield capable of winning the ball back higher up the pitch.

Can't say I've seen much of him, but hopefully he turns out better than our last Brazilian CM.

Mahrez too and I'd be drippin
Would be happy with Mahrez or Willian. Not sure who I would prefer! Mahrez is slightly younger and more silky who has been producing for a lesser team for a while now. Willian is quicker and works more harder defensively, which probably suits Mourinho more. Oh and Willian and Jose have worked together before.

Still think we need more than just Fred in midfield especially with Carrick retiring and Fellaini looking set to leave. If rumours are to be believed then Savic could be the second midfielder we sign... if we are to sign 2.

Essien was no giant. Jose doesn’t just sign “giants” but he does place a large emphasis on physical attributes

He said his future wouldn't be sorted until after the world cup and it's the MEN, so hopefully bullshit.

Have no idea what he's like. Checked his stats, and he doesn't have many goals or assists.

Whomever we sign, should be in the tier of Pogba or above (and preferably more consistent) as opposed to Herrera or Fellaini. Midfield has been a problem area for too long.

Oh, so he is more of a destroyer like Kante? That would explain the lack of goals or assists.

Has there been any scout reports by Shakhtar Donetsk watchers posted in here? I'm too lazy to trawl

This Brazil team look like they've got some decent players after a couple of years of being quite shit by their standards. Hope we can sign a few in this window and bring back some flair!

Isn't it just coincidental that this United team has many 'giants' in it? He bought and played many players who are not giants before. Essien, Salah, Cole, Mata, Modric, Ozil, Marcelo, Sneijder, Deco, Cesc, Oscar, I could go on and on. He may place emphasis on physically strong players but I doubt if he sets about building a squad of giants.

That's the player he does remind me of in what I've seen of him. Maybe not as good defensively, but with a better eye for a pass IMO.

That's very true. It may be purely coincidental, but it's still good to see us signing a player like this in CM as he's tended to favor or focus on bigger players, at least from my perspective, in midfield since arriving. Either way this is a signing I like from what I've seen of the player and what we need to strengthen in CM.

You don't want him either?
What are you basing this on? Have you seen him much? Genuinely curious.

I, like almost all of us, have barely seen him, and while you can't judge a player based on YouTube clips you can often decipher what kind of player he is, and stylistically he seems to be perfect for us. He brings flair, urgency on the ball (maybe Pogba will learn a thing or two) and above all, he seems like a positive, forward-thinking and direct player with the ball at his feet. I'd be excited by this signing.

I'm asking @Devil may care. I don't know as I haven't seen him.

Yeah man, in their stupid faces! His willingness to embrace short players totally makes up for cowardly displays against Seville and Chelsea.
Which cowardly performance against Chelsea? Is that how the final has been judged on here?
