How did you figure that? Because after waiting for eleven weeks we got to see a short clip and a written statement? Really? By the way, there are some inaccuracies in translation between the English and Russian versions of the statement, but I'm not going to bother with that. Would you be convinced if it was the other way around and Russians were handling it in the same manner the Brits have done so far? This thread would be full of outrage and all sorts of accusations. But it's been pretty dead for a while now. Funny how that works.
I said on this very thread, if you isolate a person for a period of time and let professionals handle him/her, they can turn anyone into anything. Plus, Yulia Skripal isn't some hardened operative with years of training, she's just your average young woman who got caught up in something much bigger than her. Do you really think it's difficult to have her convinced of anything, given her situation? Why hasn't she been allowed to see her family this whole time? The very first chance she got while still in hospital, she managed to get hold of a telephone (we don’t know how, it was not her own and she has not had access to one since) and phoned her cousin Viktoria, and after that there were weeks and weeks of silence. Since that phone call, of which we only know because Russians broadcast it on the TV show, (to drive their own agenda, of course) the Skripals have made no attempt to contact their family in Russia. That includes no contact with Sergei’s aged mum, Yulia’s grandmother, who Viktoria cares for. Sergei normally calls his mother – who is 89 – regularly. Since the incident took place, the old lady has heard nothing from either of them. Odd, don't you think? Why haven't her country's diplomats been allowed to see Yulia, talk to her and make sure she's OK since the incident, in violation of an international law? What does British government have to hide that they go to such lengths to ensure no-one sees or talks to the victims for such a long period of time? Hell, we don't even know what exactly happened to those two and where they were and who was in regular contact with them all this time, we just have to take the official statements as God's truth all along. In the meantime, the authorities have yet to produce a suspect. Nothing. Big fat zero.
So far not a single shred of proof of Russia's involvement has been presented. The accusations of Russia being the only country that had the means to produce Novichok have since been proven to be totally false. Hell, we don't even know if it was Novichok that was used. And if it was, and the victims have been sussessfully treated (miraculous recovery from the very powerful and quite deadly substance, I might add), that means the Brits had an antidote, which means they had the agent all along, too. So why cry to the whole world right from the start that it could only have been Russians? If you still have no proof or even a suspect, that means you haven't had them back then, either. Why create all this noise and turn it into an international scandal when you've got no evidence whatsoever to back up your accusations? And all we've read or heard from the British press so far is that it must have been Russians because it's just like them to act in such manner. Brilliant analysis. The public also seems to be blissfully unaware of what's happening around them and how their own government treats them like idiots. Not that it's any different down in Russia.
