Are you serious? Of course he is. Check out his career. Every great player has suffered a dip in form.Right Sanchez is such a brilliant player. He has scored a grand total of 2 brilliant goals for us in half season. What a brilliant forward.
He justs wants to leave, regardless of the manager. Thanks Mou, short-term minded *****
Really hope we get rid of this early 200's coach as soon as possible before we lose more players (Pogba, DDG etc.)
After we signed Sanchez, they played together in the Tottenham game, we lost 2-0 and the whole team was shit. He was then dropped for the Huddersfield game and came back in for the Newcastle game which we lost 1-0. I'm not saying it's his fault but he offered absolutely nothing in those games and deserved to be dropped, along with some others. He never recovered from that.He started 18 games, we won 10 of them and he scored or assisted 10 times.
It seems clear to me that Martial is a coaster, he lacks the fire to take him to the next level.yeah, but i don't blindly trust mourinho or everything he says, i mean, he's the guy that took him off the team when he was in a decent period of form...his record with other players also makes it sketchy for me, although, what he says certainly holds more weight than random posts on here, of course
Yeah? And how many of those we have in the squad? Easily replaced? Like we are doing it with Alexis? That is exactly my point Martial has not done enough to act the way he has acted he may be world class player in making but it's just potential trying to strong arm Club with this public posturing if that's the case is not acceptable for all his talents he can be easily replaced.
He wouldn't be the first player to leave a top tier club for a 2nd tier club for game ttime and then later getting signed by a top tier clubMartial would struggle to find to clubs. He ended up moving to 2nd tier teams like arsenal and fade of ala balotelli.
He thinks he's the dog's bollock too soon.
That is what I am saying. We need to be able to retain the former not the latter. There again I guess its easier to convince a player when the alternative to our club is Sunderland or Everton rather then Real or JuveHow can you seriously compare those three? Ronaldo was the best player in the PL by a mile when he left, and had just won the ballon d’or, and Beckham was arguably the best right winger in the world when he left.
Martial is nowhere near that level, and he may never be.
He’s got potential, but right now I would rather compare him to Anderson than to Beckham or Ronaldo.
No problem.
Pardon me my friend. I meant Pirlo not Pismo. Autocorrect issues. For every Pismo there are 5 done Rooneys.
I will add " finding motivations", to "needing a rest" or " a full pre-season" to the long list of hopeful excuses for poor form.
I'd keep both but get rid of mourinho tbh (for transparency purposes: i don't believe mourinho is the guy to take us forward)Question for you guys. If you as a fan had a choice which one you would get rid of Sanchez or Martial? For me it would be Sanchez every single day of the week
I actually agree with the overall sentiment that Nani was under appreciated. I don't have the exactly timelines (would have to look it up) but for like 2 seasons Nani was a top 3 winger in the world. i hated when he got booed or when you heard groans when he tried things.Nani was twice the player Martial will ever be, we would cut our balls off for the chance to have someone as good as him on the wing right now.
His treatment towards the end of his time here was nothing short of disgusting.
Probably not, but some think it is Jose's fault altogether. He could have played every game and not got in due to the talent available. To be fair, getting in the England squad and the French squad at the moment is not a fair comparison.
You've warped these stats badly to suit your narrative. We had no strikers when we signed him, he had to play, we had no choice and 11 goals to be our top goalscorer is a disgrace for a team like United.People talk of comparisons with De Bruyne and Salah but this is far worse.
Martial has actually done a lot for us unlike those two for Chelsea. He was our top scorer in his debut season. Second season was a mixed bag but which of our players are so incredibly consistent?
Mourinho's favourites can go several games playing like shit and keep their place, but young talents are dropped at the slightest poor performance.
People are now comparing him to Anelka! Anelka was never treated poorly by his club like Martial was.
It has been reiterated many times in this thread, but he was player of the month three times before Sanchez joined. I'll leave it at that.
ITK?Crikey!

What will happen when Pogba announces he wants to leave later in the Summer?
I worded it badly. Martial might not have got in anyway, but it will be United's fault no matter what. You can't compare the England squad to the France's. Who was Rashford competing against for a call up? Sturridge?
I don't care, in fact I don't even care if Martial leaves or stay but I do care about the bullshit that you and others are spouting. In the league, we won most of our games when he started. After we signed Sanchez, they played together in the Tottenham game, we lost 2-0 and the whole team was shit. He was then dropped for the Huddersfield game and came back in for the Newcastle game which we lost 1-0. I'm not blaming Sanchez. It was up to Tony to make the most of his chances and he didn't.People keep blaming Sanchez like it isn't Martial just completely giving up and not even trying to fight for his place.
His agent is a cnut too.
Blame the player also?Crikey!

Yep, and it's not like his agent hasn't been feeding stories to the press of him leaving, or wanting to leave for the past two years. I like the lad, but his attitude is just atrocious.I'm not blaming Sanchez. It was up to Tony to make the most of his chances and he didn't.
How was that down to Martial? Was he the main contributor to our success before the signing of Sanchez? Nope, he wasn't. He doesn't do enough and I don't care if he goes or if he stays. You can call it bullshit all you want but he's had every opportunity to play first team football since Sanchez came in and he's been too busy sulking to see his opportunities.I don't care, in fact I don't even care if Martial leaves or stay but I do care about the bullshit that you and others are spouting. It's comments like this that make me re-evaluate whether or not I need this forum in my life anymore.I just don’t trust Mourinho at all on this one - I mean, he’s not got the best history with young flair players innit. And sure Martial has been inconsistent, but our attack on the whole has been poor this season and a lot of that will be down to coaching.
While youngsters seem to be developing and showing significant improvements down the road at City, Rashford and Martial seem to have stagnated.
This, the idea he's been treated badly is pathetic. He's had plenty of game time for a player of his age and form.People keep blaming Sanchez like it isn't Martial just completely giving up and not even trying to fight for his place.
His agent is a cnut too.
OkIt's comments like this that make me re-evaluate whether or not I need this forum in my life anymore.
We already have his replacement in Alexis. The simple matter is that his replacement will probably cost more than any fee we can make from him.
Aye, those academy players for City are hogging too many spaces in their starting 11 if anything. While youngsters seem to be developing and showing significant improvements down the road at City, Rashford and Martial seem to have stagnated.
I obviously meant the likes of Sterling and Sane. They may not be academy graduates but it doesn’t actually take away from my point.Aye, those academy players for City are hogging too many spaces in their starting 11 if anything.
So Jose slating him in the press, dropping him for Sanchez, moving his position to suit Sanchez and hardly giving him (or any forward) any focus on playing attacking football has nothing to do with it?He justs wants to leave, regardless of the manager.
Thats not on the manager.
You said that we dropped points most of the games he started, that's wrong. He also didn't cause any issues. How was that down to Martial? Was he the main contributor to our success before the signing of Sanchez? Nope, he wasn't. He doesn't do enough and I don't care if he goes or if he stays.
