I can see this, but only from a resale point of view, sadly I doubt this is even an option.

He's past his best, and is a poor game-changing tactic, for a manager who should have this sort of lazy footballing option taken away from him whilst he's United manager... imo.

All the pro Jose fans are now trying to convince everybody how fellaini is a great player & the perfect plan B - when in fact he is more just an extremity of our Plan A.

The same guys who 'couldn't care less' if Martial goes & his personality & work rate are making excuses for a player who directly tried to play with the club, gets begged for by the manager, gets the money & has only pure power & work rat ever anything like flair.

Just like Jose & his favouritism of certain type of players - he is ultimately followed by fans who have an undying favouritism of José's own methods, tactics and view of certain players like Fellaini.

It's really dampened my enthusiasm for footy tonight. I'm watching Brazil-Serbia in such a deflated manner. I just knew he was going nowhere, the teams interested in him could probably afford to offer about 50% of what he was CURRENTLY on at United; that, in itself, is a damning indictment of the level of club this man should be playing for.

He's a Beskitas, Fenerbahce level player.

I wanted him to leave, because of his behavior and stupid quotes re this renewal issues and because we should start looking at better options, but I don't see him staying as a disaster as well, a bit meh feeling.

Don't worry man, 1 more season to go. Jose's gone this time next year, 100%. And I was a bloke who genuinely wanted Jose Mourinho here and backed him up until around midway through last season.

One more long, dull, teeth-pulling season. Then the mess starts all over again from square one with feck knows who in the hotseat.

Sanchez : "I really like to play down the left, through the middle, but to tell you the truth, as long as I'm playing football, I'll fit in anywhere!"
He likes to play there because he's greedy and wants to score goals on his stronger foot, but he has played very well for long stretches on the RW, so his preference vs what the team needs is the important factor here, him on the RW and Martial on the LW is good for Manchester United even if it means Sanchez gets less personal glory. Truth is mate we could go back and forth all day, in my view it'll all be irrelevant anyway as long as Mourinho is here, it's just frustrating that we are not only stuck with his toxic ass for another season but that there's going to be more shitty lumpball in every match now that this crappy waste of space is staying as well.

I have time for Castles, hope he is correct in his assumption.

Very much doubt we would have spent anything on a Fellaini replacement, rather we would promote a youth product as per the norm when replacing squad players.
Do you seriously think we can't sign a sixth choice midfielder for less than 30 million?
We were being linked with Arnautovic? Fellaini isn’t really sixth choice, he’s more 4th choice and a different option from the bench.

Yet we sign him on a two year deal, do you fail to see your logic?
I should read your post again. Yes if hes on a two year deal, you said we could sell him after a season for a good deal. I said we would be lucky to give him away after a season and will be stuck with him for the 2 years . I can see the logic, obviously you cant.

Find it pretty funny that the signing fellaini back is seen as a great way to help solidify our midfield depth without having to spend money on transfers....when all the "good qualities" people talk about with him having nothing to do with him in midfield. If you want someone to create havoc in the opposing box just sign fecking peter crouch, prob do that job just as well and would allow us to have an actual central midfielder on the bench to bring on if we need to fill in.

I'd love us to win the title. The meltdown in here will be epic.
The moaning which will ensue if we win the title will be so good, it will keep me entertained for the entire Summer.
For the record, I think Jose will be staying for plenty more years.

They really should do some joke about his (lack of) popularity. "Hello. I'm here to haunt you for two more years." Whispered in a dark hallway, of course.
How about him playing the piano in the dark and towards the end there is a slight glimmer of light (Fellaini still in the shadows), at which time he whispers, "2 more years!"

We were always going to approch how we play next season the exact same with or without Fellaini under Mou, the only difference is we'd play it less effectively without Mourinho having him as an option.

Total joke, he wanted out and thought he was Neymar and that he could command a big salary.

But no team was willing to pay what he wanted and we got mugged by renewing his contract.

Next season will be the same shut.

You've got no chance lad, don't get your hopes up too much. The lattr point, wouldn't surprise me too much if the board are happy with 4th from here on out.

Also, its quite telling of your personality that it's the entertainment of others moaning that would bring you joy and pleasure, rather than the lads winning the title in itself. Very telling actually.

This forum is nothing but one gigantic dick-measuring contest. Posters constantly jibing at other posters and quoting posts from 12months ago like absolute losers just to prove a point and give themselves an ego boost. People on here care more about being right than anything else.

The acts I would do, the things I would give, the unspeakable levels I would drop to for United to, in the same day, announce him signing a new contract and then announcing they've accepted a bid from....feck it, anyone, for him!

If reports are true about Fellaini staying I guess it also means less chance of Pereira getting game time, if Darmian stays also does it mean Dalot is even further down the pecking order. Rather give chances to the likes of these guys than those two turds.
I’m still dreaming of two established full backs being signed, a superstar right sided forward and another quality DM.
I know, still 7 weeks until the window closes but I’m not confident to be honest, really thought we would make a huge statement to get us back challenging. Not keeping Fellaini and Martial wanting to leave.

Moaning and meltdowns if we win the league?

Not his biggest fan but I won't complain. We've got extra cash to spend elsewhere now. The money saved on a Fellaini replacement could be the difference between getting Willian for the RW or Bale.

How does a United fan being unhappy with the club extending Fellaini's contract equate to them not wanting their club to win the title?

I'm not seeing the relation here, sorry.

We are linked to a 1000 different players every year and arnautovic is a striker, which is different from a midfielder i.e. fellaini.

Unless you want to consider fellaini a striker in which case lets start talking about his goals record and what other striker at his age with that goal record would cost 40m?

Can probably get somebody likes ings for 3m.
