Not ideal but he gets an even longer rest so who cares?
It means that he's getting this rest when the club actually doesn't want him to. We'll be forced to give him this rest if he couldn't travel which isn't an ideal situation for the club at all imo.

Hopefully it gets resolved the next few days.

There really should be someone at Manchester United who is responsbile for making sure the playing staff can travel. The club has known for months both that it was going to the USA and that Alexis has a strike on his record. Plus Alexis has not been at the World Cup. Some time between the end of last season and now someone should have looked at the playing squad and taken the steps to make sure they could travel to the States.

Yes let's hope he can link up with the other players over there. There's enough time still.

Strange situation. You would have thought the club would have preempted this, but it could also be a case of the US authorities dragging their feet. Or maybe Chile have made it onto Donald’s list.
The only positive if he misses any games is that it gives the likes of Chong a chance to impress Jose.

Somebody needs to call up Donald and tell him we have a rich and famous guy who is a convicted tax evader who wants to come to the country for a few weeks. He will sign a presidential order to give him a visa.

Not the first Sanchez who'll be denied access to Trump's America, but he'll be pissed a Jose got through the net.

Think he'll probably just train with random coaches on his own back in manchester to stay fit if he can't go on tour.

All of this will have happened. It's probably a lot more difficult to negotiate than many would envisage, however.

It's really hard to get a visa in the U.S. As much as it's fun to blame the club as incompetent, I wouldn't be surprised if the delay isn't on our end, but rather a combination of the multi-faceted bureaucracy of the U.S. government and all its agencies and the fact that xenophobia plays a huge role in our border policy right now. I hope we get it sorted out, as I'd like to see him play on tour.

He can go and train with the women's team.

The bloke badly needs to gel with his team mates and Mourinho's way of playing.

Incompetence by United. Someone on staff should already know how touchy the Americans are now especially with peeps who have a record. Should have been on it before the end of the season.

Not happy he's missing out on pre-season (or some of it) with the other lads. He needs to work on developing some chemistry with our players and working with the new coaches. Really not happy with this.

I would be shocked if the club didn't do their due diligence on this.

It's probably not down to us.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Really excited about this tour. Looking at the squads, Jose will have no option but to play the youngsters and we'll get to see how they get on properly. Each of them could be of use to the first team based on their positions so hopefully they shine.

The moral turpitude clause is exactly why I didn't think Rooney would get a working visa.

A terrible shame that Sanchez might miss the tour. It's definitely needed and our squad is very thin at the moment in midfield and upfront. The only good thing is that it'll give our young players minutes.

Sanchez was training with the squad past week, why should he now then get an extended break?
Travel takes more out of you than exercise/training.

A steady schedule at home will be far less taxing. Same bed, same routine, he'll still be training with our fitness team daily.

It's absolutely scandalous actually.

Not that Alexis won't get pre-season games or he won't be training with the squad neither of which are good but meh nothing to get that upset about.

No, it's awful for all of our American fans who've paid to see the team and I believe would of been expecting to see Alexis as he's on all the posters and the only reason he's not there is because someone in the admin department has dropped an almighty one.

I can appreciate the whole ‘great, more kids’ line - but there’s a balance. This isn’t good at all. This is first team pre-season, not reserve pre-season, and our seniors need to be ready for the kick off.

This is something I was thinking about. We are charging an arm and a leg and sending our reserves out who nobody has heard of. It’s great for us at home, but it’s not who the paying fans want to see.

The club has had how many months to sort this out?

Ferguson is one loss but Gill leaving has coincided with the club constantly doing things you'd expect if it was run by a bunch of 7 year olds.

If Sanchez is not going then surely the club is to blame. There are a bunch of teams playing friendlies in the US and I bet a lot of them have some kind of sentence, especially since Spain decided to charge just about every foreign player in the league for the past 5 years.

Couldn’t care less if he doesn’t play in these friendlys, as long as he’s ready come the start of the season.

Lukaku won’t be playing in them either.

Thing is after a good rest, pre season is important to train for new season. Training is not just get into shape but experiment with tactic, improve understanding with teammate, test out compatibility... If Alexis can't make the US tour, then he would only have one friendly before new season officially begins. That's terrible situation

There is no better game simulation than playing games themselves.

Hopefully he can feature in the tour. If not, man that is bad news.

Yeah the club will have not had someone whose job this is and we just winged and hoped for the best. Definitely.
