Hope to see at least two subs. But if we go to three at the back with Lindelof and Bailly it will be time for me to switch off.

Get out of here with that bullcrap.

You see what Brighton's doing? Their team don't cost as much as a single player of ours.
Thank you for bringing some sense into the conversation. So many want to scapegoat a certain faction at our club - they are all responsible, some more so than others (hint: it's not the owners' fault we can't beat a shite team that presses us).

Only consolation is we can't be worse in 2nd half and nothing to lose. Hoping for a Selhurst Park style comeback....

Our midfield made 1 interception and 0 tackles between them in 45 minutes. That was an Andreas interception - the least expensive and least experienced of the 3.

That said it isnt just the midfield that cant win the ball. Shaw has 2 interceptions and 1 tackle, Lukaku has 1 tackle... And thats the entire team accounted for. Nothing from our RB or CBs.

Hard to argue with. De Gea is maybe a bit fortunate considering some of his distribution has put us under immediate goal threat.
De Gea is bang average at everything bar shot stopping, but this doesn’t get highlighted enougn whilst our defence is so shit that he has the opportunity for heroics every week.

What now? I think Smalling and Lingard for Fred and Mata. Go 3-5-2 and hope to at least gain some control.

Bailly is having a shocking game,
Not really. Time and again he is being forced to come across to cover for Young who is playing way too far up the pitch, defending long balls that Mata should be closing down before the Brighton players have time to pick out accurate passes. Bailly hasn't actually done too much directly wrong. Lindelof only screwed up a bit on the first goal.

@Stevie G's Red Card is spot on.

    HELLO
The truth is we play like this quite a lot. It's just that we're usually good enough to nick the first goal and hedge our bets after. Our attack is so disjointed that when we concede first we look pathetic trying to get back into the game.

How our right side has been neglected for so long has been a mystery. You can't even blame Mata at this point, he doesn't have the legs to the position.

Criticising the mistakes is fair. But there is a coaching problem. It was the same against Leicester. So passive, never on the front foot and it results in shit like that. Nail on the head here.

Pains me to say bu that is spot on.
I keep hoping we will suddenly "click" :(

But apparently lindelof and Bailly are our best pairing

Jesus wept. The 2 of them are not good enough. No wonder Jose wanted at least 1 more cb

I don't rate any of em that much when it comes to kicking a ball to be honest  Pogba aside
Mourinho does though. He's signed nearly a full team.

At some point performances like this can't be justified by blaming finances/players. We've spent 300 million over the last 3 years. That shouldn't produce this.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
Lindelof lost his man for the first goal, he was ball watching Duffy for the second one instead of pressing him, and he was completely out of position for their third, which left Bailly with no other chance but to go for the tackle. Bailly has no concentration, got nutmegged for the first, and fecked up on the third. De Gea's distribution has been shocking, and the penalty could perhaps have been saved.

Basically our defence has been shit, and not having a shield in front of them in the shape of Matic. Pereira is more of deep lying playmaker than a defensive midfielder, and it is showing. Jose was correct in asking for a new centre back. We fecked up on that front in the transfer window.

Young has been poor, but not as poor as Mata. Mata has offered nothing, has killed all attacks so far, and got nutmegged too many times in one half for a professional footballer.

Three changes: Smalling for Lindelof. McTominay for Pereira. Rashford for Mata. And a firecracker up everyone's ass.

No manager or teammate can account for the moments of utter insanity from Bailly. He's the footballing equivalent of handing a 16-year old a super car, you know the high speed crash is coming at some point.

Not sure why everyone is blaming Bailly. The penalty was a poor challenge but it was a result of Lindelof's man just getting a free run straight into the box. Where the feck was Victor?!
The second goal was Bailly's fault too because he shanked the ball out of play under no real pressure for the corner that led to the goal. He seems to have a problem with the basics of football.

We need a change. Mourinho has had his chance and is shot. The club needs a.lift and the feel good factor to return.

    Mata invisible again.

When owners don't invest this is what happens. An absolute tragedy for United but completely predictable. How can the owners expect the fans to pay to watch this? Can see thousands ripping up their season tickets.
That’s garbage. The two clowns at centre half today were both signed by Mouriniho. That team could play some really nice football as many did at the World Cup. The board clearly don’t trust Mouriniho as he’s not delivering the goods.

Fred isn't suited to the league yet. He's the one who last the ball for the third goal. We desperately missing Matic.

Our biggest, debilitating flaw is our lack of pressing! Every team in the league presses better than we do and we give teams so much time on the ball.

The best teams need the ball back when they lose it, we just kinda want it back. Brighton's were all a result of them pressing but hey what do I know compared to JM?

As umimpressive as the tactics have been in this game, what i have seen here today is 3 goals from 3 bad player errors. None of the players (except perhaps Shaw) has played well today at all. Fred lost the ball carelessly twice in the midfield and we conceded. Young, Bailly, Lindelof and Mata have been poor. Pogba, Martial, Lukaku and Pereira have not left first gear.

Disgraceful half from us but worth keeping in mind Brighton are notoriously difficult to beat at home even from last season. We can easily outscore them but need better attacking play and Mata needs to be subbed asap to protect our right flank.

Defensively we’re shite but there’s feck all going forward either.

Years behind in terms of talent on the field and style of play. We’ve got a struggle to finish 4th.
Thats sad enough, but we have turned into Arsenal hoping for top 4 finishes. At least they had the occasional high scoring game

Not confusing why this happens - we are a club who should be prioritizing the domination of the match in terms of possession & attack when a team is clearly below us.

Yet we continue to be a defensive side whose main focus is to 'work hard' & literally outrun the opposition team that occurs around a strong core.

Jose's type of football is not good enough for me - even if he gets his players; he won't be the best manager to get the best out of the pure technicalities of a squad.

We should be in control of teams - not trying to break damn Brighton on the counter all the time.

Everyone saying Jose has lost some of the team I don't think that's acceptable at all. Even if you have beef with the Manager play for the supporters play for respect. Don't act like little sorry ass twats who has hurt feelings. Grow the feck up or move on.
    Spot on.
Mourinho has his faults and they are huge of course but like you said, our players are a disgrace. A bunch of cowards

Need 3 goals to win it. Need to invoke last season's spirit we had in the starting games.

Because its typical Bailly with a rash challenge. His man was running away from goal and he dived in and mistimed it. Didnt need to do that at all

Lindelof for the first goal was unbelivably bad. It shouldn't be too much to ask for a defender to do the very basics of their job.

De Gea for the third goal was even worse. Indicates hes going to hoof the ball so everyone runs up the pitch, then casually lofts it into the middle of the pitch instead. Badly. THen again Lindelof can't do the most basic of things to stop someone running through on goal.

Young has been an absolute joke too. He has the worst decision making as a fullback both on and off the ball, of probably any player I've seen play for us.

It just isnt possible to produce anything other than a circus performance when you have players who not only can't do the most basic things, but actually pro actively create problems out of nothing

The two best, most progressive, managers in the world are at our two biggest rivals. We got Mourinho too late, he's not king anymore. I'm not convinced by Zidane, or anyone else really. When the change happens, take a punt on someone not boring and with a bit of tactical nous. Oh, an for feck sake bring in a component DOF.
