I just came here to say that you guys actually played really well in the first half of the game, easily the better side. The goal from Kane knocked the confidence out of the team.

Then raise United’s banner high
Beneath it’s shade we’ll live and die
So keep the faith and never fear
We’ll keep the Red Flag flying here

There have definitely been positives tonight. Shaw and most of our first half play gave me hope and the 45 minutes flew by unlike any of our games since the FA Cup semi.

On the other hand the defence was woeful all night, barring a few last ditch efforts, and we withdrew into our shells pathetically after conceding the goals for too long. After that we improved and made some snatched chances, but honestly it was desperate stuff, and we still looked abysmal at the back.

There was a palpable end of days feel about Jose on the pitch at the final whistle. There's much more to say on this in the coming days and weeks but a crossroads is nearing.[/QUOTE]

Think he looked ill when he walked off. He looked shellshocked.

The players don't seem to care, there isn't enough competition in the squad, they all think they can out-wait the manager and the club has refused to help him by signing more quality players. The tactics don't seem to work, it's all going wrong and unless we change manager we'll see a lot more of this.

I think new manager will see players trying to vie for their position and it'll help lift their game. Don't expect anything of this season though, we finished second last season partly due to how poor others were, rather than how good we were. We need surgery. RB, RW, CB at least. Also replace anyone who can't step up. Pogba was shit tonight again.

There is no spoon.
Players not taking their chances, fair enough blame them but for the full 90 minutes the players just looked like they dont suit or dont want to play the style of football they're being sent out to play.

That progress was halted in the Summer transfer window. We fecked it up big time.

Could have been 5 or 6, we were a shambles.

Second game in a row Lukaku misses a sitter at 0-0. If that's Aguero, it's 1-0 & a completely different game.

I think Woodward needs to be blamed more than Jose. If a manager has been given a contract extension, you should fecking back him up with the players that he needs until at least the end of his contract. Otherwise what is the fecking point.
Exactly. Woodward is a massive tool, why did we even give Jose the extention ? Was there even a real need to do that?

This!! It's too easy to blame JM. Our defence was the difference tonight. They are shocking!! Only Shaw can hold his head high!

Our next two games are Burnley and Watford away. Going to be torture. I think we will get one point out of the six.

It's Jose and the third season implosion, are we really that shocked and naive to think he changed, he's toxic.

We played well first half. Pressed well. Forced mistakes such a shame we've got a second rate striker.

Having said that playing Herrera in defence and constantly changing the back four is never going to work. Some players seem to lack motivation and as a team we have absolutely no plan going forwards.

Sad day.

It's probably game over for Mourinho at United. It hasn't worked, it hasn't looked like working on a consistent basis. We just don't play well.

I was a bit peeved that Van Gaal left without winning a league title, he had done so at every other team he had been at, but Mourinho coming and not winning a league title with us would be a much deeper disappointment. He has won league titles everywhere in more competitive circumstances. A title is highly unlikely this season after two losses already.

I hope we don't get dragged into the turmoil that other teams have when Mourinho's on his way out. Spurs were good all game, well done to them.

United fans posing for selfies with Lucas Moura?

What happened to giving any opposition player the wanker sign, no matter who they are?

What even is football now?
Yeah, terrible that people can appreciate someone playing good football.

It was oddly entertaining to see United going for it instead of defending. Great match from both teams.

I think the fans who wanted United show ambition and drive should be happy. I know my brother the fan is. He actually enjoyed watching finally United creating chances and playing some footie.

Spurs was ruthless. United wasn't. A lot of chances created by both teams.

Great match to watch.

This is identical to what happened to Jose at Chelsea. The players just dont want to play for him anymore and can you blame them?

Chelsea wasted a season that year, replaced him and won it the next year. Why waste anymore time on him, sack him now, bring in Zizu, pay him what he wants and maybe just maybe start unlocking the potential of these top players. We might even still be able to launch a title challenge
any player refusing to play for a manager should be sacked. it's pathetic not to mention a breach of contract

We should up 1 or 2 goals on half time. But everything starts from defence. I said that in dozens of posts. You can't win nothing and you can't play attacking football with shit defenders. Jones and lindelof are shit, rojo and bailly reckless and smalling also has that mistake in him. Give jose two class defenders like every big club has and it would be another story.
Also lukaku chance was crucial moment in todays match

Game of two halves and individual errors.

Also game of two strikers - the gulf in class between Lukaku and Kane kind of decided the match. One can't score from an easy chance, and the other scores a great header from a half chance.
This is the most relevant point to take from the match today, I think. I mean, we were good in the first half, positive, aggressive, Lingard was used great and played great, and we certainly deserved to be leading.

But Lukaku leaves so much to be wanted in matches like these. He bottles too many chances, and his hold-up play compared to Kane's is just embarrassing. Don't even get me started on his passing. It's like his brain stops working.

I love the guy and his attitude, but with a properly functioning striker this match we would not have entered headless chicken mode

Yeah, because it's like a pirate curse thay won't go away. It's not a defined rule in the game you know. Many others factors come into play like Woodward being a fecking idiot, Prima Donnas in the squad like Pogba etc who think they're more powerful and important than the manager.

Just an abysmal result, considering the chances we had and the way we played in the first half. Can't even be bothered to go into work to the comments tomorrow.
