Two fellow caftards have declared this first half like watching united of old. A dominant first 20 followed by an absolute bog standard performance for 20.

The utter state of some posts, I would bet money posters in question logged on saw the score after 10 mins and had a mini meltdown.
Calm down mate, they're just posts on a football forum from a poster you'll never meet. No need to get so upset.

This is finishing 4 or 5 nil now.

Maddison's defending on both corners was shocking, clear pen and then gets nowhere near Firminio.

It's amazing how often Liverpool seem to get the break of the play/ the ball. Every bounce, every tackle, every chance seems to fall their way. At the perfect times too. This goal just before HT when Leicester were in the ascendency has killed them off. It's fecking sickening.

What a myth. Playing at 90% and winning 2-0 before the end of the first half.

Hmmm, I wonder which team in red used to do that in the past. Middlesbrough?
So winning is enough to draw comparison with united of old? Are they like Barca of old? Real Madrid of old?juventus of old?

Or are the united of old comparisons just more unnecessary moaning about us?

Just hand over the title to them. They're fantastic whereas we're just awful.

We’ve been downright poor after our first goal, good thing is Leicester aren’t even threatening either so far.

Why make a post if not open to interpretation? Interested to know how I might have something so utterly wrong.

not really
Right....
This!
As much as it pains me to admit, I really enjoyed watching Liverpool yesterday, whereas our game v Leicester made me want to sleep.
The United way? Watch Liverpools game v west ham last week, that will give you a good idea. Ironic, I know.
Give them the title now. Saves having to endure watching Liverpool coming close or even winning it. We're obviously nowhere near their quality
Between them and city for the league this season.
3-0 to city.

I wonder what the score would be if united were playing wolves. 2-1 to them I reckon
Game over.

Lukaku would've missed that
One thing that's apparent is how little time and space the opposition have when playing Liverpool. Compare that to when teams play us, they dominate possession and it seems like they have an extra man!
That's one difference.
They're also better in attack. Actually better all over really.
They have a game plan other that parking the bus.
They press high.
Their defenders don't shit themselves when the opposition attack.
I could go on but you get the picture
Ermmmm...2-0 Burnley.
Yes I agree with the thread title, we will go on a run after this. A run to the asylum.
They're playing like the united of old

You just knew that after that decent spell without Leicester scoring, they'd score a second goal they didn't deserve.

Is Gray up front really a better option than Iheanacho or Okazaki?

Think we've defended well. Nice to see that we can be comfortable without the ball as well.

It's not luck by any means. It's a result of their tactics. And yea, mostly, movement as a commenter above also mentioned.

It’s probably the biggest advantage to a high pressing system. It was especially pronounced in Pep’s Barcelona. Every second ball seemed to always fall to one of their players. Happens with current city as well.

Missing Vardy massively. Leicester been very poor, 2-0 probably flatters Liverpool but they certainly deserve to be winning

No no, go back to when you said this performance is like united of old.
OK. there is not a chance is hell United would be 2-0 up away to Leicester.

You can have your blinkers on as much you like, you can call me a closet liverpool fan, but there's no denying this Liverpool team are looking something special right now. The way they're playing, attacking football, fullbacks on the overlap, reminds me on United of the old. Just my opinion of course, but as is the nature of posters on this forum, they will attack you if they don;t agree with you. So go ahead and attack me all you want.

United of old. Hyperbolic rubbish. Unnecessary comparison. You’ve got a Liverpool fan here saying they’ve been poor, some pundits saying the same. But winning equals united of old. It just makes no sense. Like saying if Bournemouth are winning later it’s like united of old.

Early days and I don’t want to jinx or ge carried away, but loving how we give so few opportunities away (usually) the reason why Becker has had the fewest saves to make so far. Looking well drilled defensively although I’m still scarred mentally from the last 8 years.

apart from that Gray shot, you've kept them relatively quiet which is rare for a Liverpool side away from home.

Leicester were the better side between your two goals just like Palace were.

I think you lot are fortunate to have a 2-0 lead.

We were good for first 15-20 mins then Gini played a bad short pass which let Leicester in and they’ve been much better team since. Firmino’s goal was against run of play.

It’s not like they’re pummelling our goal though. Defensively we’ve dealt with them fairly well but offensively I think we were poor.
