That's the most comical cause for missing a match I have ever seen.

Almost all of them do it, don't they? They all look hairless.

This is hilarious, worse than when I have "diarrhoea" when I don't want to go out of my cave and interact with humans.

I'm yet to be convinced by him. Yes he's scored some fantastic goals but I've yet to see him put together a really impressive 90 mins together.

Two assists in the last eight appearances and his league record this season hasn't been that great(just 2 goals and 2 assists). Still a good talent but those were calling him a sureshot world beater(me included) maybe were a little haste in doing that.

2 goals and 2 assists isn't bad for a player who doesn't regularly starts
Tbf he has played less than 30 min four times in the last eight games,
He has more minutes than Rashford in the league who has been much criticized here. Okay discount the last eight matches but his overall output this season hasn't been great.

Thing about great players is that they were great young players but they always had to re-invent themselves over the years. It's a constant process and it's up to any talented young player to put in the effort and hope things go his way.

He's not a starter (yet), the likes of Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema, Isco, Modric/Kroos all start over him when fit.

Has started the last five out of six league appearances according to this:
https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137467/Show/Marco-Asensio
Note the 'when fit'. Ronaldo missed 3 of those games due to suspension and Bale missed 2 due to injury, the only one Asensio started when either was fit was Alaves when Bale was benched, probably due to A) it being Gareth Bale, and him needing wrapping up in cotton wool and B) they had Dortmund (a) coming up 3 days later, see the fact Modric was also rested.

Just as Rashford is also praised a lot too, it depends on what you wanna focus on.
Rashford/Asensio could have underwhelming stats and still play well.

People were giving him a hard time about his supposed shaving-induced injury but upon reading about his path to becoming a pro footballer, gotta give him kudos. Guy was basically a cripple during his early teenage years.

What is up with talented Spanish youngsters being afflicted with serious medical conditions and still making it to the top?
Asensio, and that guy from Athletico whose name I cannot recall, Saul.

For one, I guess the easy answer is a top mentality.

What was wrong with him? And Saul?

His last season has been rather disappointing. Should be on Mbappe level by now because he certainly has the talent

He doesn't score many goals, but when he does, he scores golazos, in pairs.

No he doesn't. He is world class at shooting from a distance, but needs to improve every other aspect of his game if he wants to establish himself as starter for a club like Madrid.
Not even world class at that, impersonating Michael Owen "he only scores bangers when they actually go in".

Today reactions sum up Asensio perfectly, takes 17 games to score his first goal with Spain after a bad World Cup, scores a couple bangers and suddenly he gets put in a sentence with Mbappe, he's miles away from Mbappe at almost everything.

They don't play in the same positions anyway, neither did Owen. Pointless comparisons.

He's going to start enough games this season so I predict he well improve quite a lot in the next months.
