Only City could win the league with 100 points and have most people not even care.

Amusing. God forbid that crowds at Old Trafford are bolstered by Irish visitors. Not in my lifetime, as someone once said.
Are you really comparing City advertising every home game in newspapers to United having lots of Irish fans?

36k? I suppose they don't have any CL pedigree so there's not much reason to turn up.

I imagine the full truth would go a little like this:

American: Where you from?

Me: Preston.

American: Where's that?

Me: Near Manchester.

American: Oh, Manchester United.

No harm in telling a little white lie to get there quicker.
"Near Manchester"

That's pushing it very far

Plus an extra one in the stand as St.Guardiola is banned from the touch line;)

Won’t we all laugh as the ‘stars’ all leave when they can’t get any more money now UEFA are looking to limit the spending of the Sheik and their dodgy ‘sponsors’.

I am willing to be a City fan for crazy amount of money. Even if they cap the cost at 60 million.
As a United fan, you should ashamed of yourself!
Hold out for 65.

Tbh I think it is better for City if they keep their original fan base, which they undoubtly have. Sounds the better deal than going down the PSG route with Rihanna and all those Kardashians integrating the club into their life (24/7 reality show) and selling themselves like they are an NBA side, only that they happen to play in Paris not USA.

Rihanna and the Kardashians are PSG "fans"? I did not know that!

The Kardashians can barely spell 'PSG', let alone support them.

Think of people who you connect to the words „celebrity“ and „twat“. There is a good chance they are PSG „fans“ by now.

Since we're the biggest club, Madrid the most successful, Barsa the "purest" and City the most plastic, their niche is going to be being the 'trendiest' club?

I get the feeling that it might backfire massively on them. Real football fans care little about being trendy or fashionable.

You are underestimating the modern fan. The Jordan shirts sold out instantly. When Ronaldo switched clubs, he took like several million Madrid fans with him. That is how the future will look like.

Wouldn't I be overestimating them then? If all it takes to move your loyalty is a cool shirt and a cooperation with a fashion icon, then you're not much of a football fan.

There are more empty seats tonight at the Etihad then there are people in Iceland's second largest City (Village).

City are going to be one of those clubs that, no matter how much oil money they spend, they won’t win the Champions League.

The competition just doesn’t suit them. The terrible home crowds, the horrible light blue kits, the booing of the CL anthem.

They’ll always be that ‘nearly club’ in Europe I predict.

Well I'm feeling pretty blue right now... (though I haven't been to Manchester in 8 years)

So tonight, Liverpool both legs, did they lose their second leg of the previous round I assume? Bit of a weird record that..

Lost to Basel in the second leg, tie was dead before hand but I think it was either 0-1 or 1-2.
