Today was the first time I'd thought about Ozark in a while, and then they confirm it'll be back this month. Perfect timing, bravo Netflix.
Exactly the same as me. Was walking around Plitvice Lakes thinking how it's was a bit at all shit Ozarks.

That place has been in my notes for ages since a girl told me to go there. Croatia right?

Give peas a chance.
Same. I was talking to someone about Better Call Saul coming out this week and it made me wonder when Ozark was back.

They're hacking our brains.
I genuinely would not be surprised if they had an algo for the perfect timeframe to release a new season of something. There's always one popping up when I want it to.

season 2? or did you mean the first?
I started binging s2, I'm liking it so far. The creators seemed to have mapped out the plot well for multiple seasons.

Ruth is killing me. What a brilliant character. 2 episodes to go. Worked long days this weekend otherwise this would have been gobbled up already. Soundtrack is on point. Don't want this to end.

Finished season2 and was very impressed. Excellent season all throughout. Ruth and Jason Bateman really make this show work in my opinion.

It was a good show to begin with, but I think s2 improved a lot by every character more or less knowing what's up and having their loyalties clear, especially both senior Byrds. I also think they've made a good job of finding obstacles that seem organic from within the story and at least remotely believable, something a lot of other shows struggle with.
What I like most about the show is the constant, but fluid, shifting between dark and witty humour, thriller suspense, but also a sombering seriousness that kind of goes beyond the plot, like Wyatt's essay.

So many good comments... I'll have to watch this now.

I remember watching the first episode when it came out and i felt it was like a "Breaking Bad" copy so i stopped right there.

Agreed, The characters have depth and are well defined , yet they have the capacity to surprise, and develop in ways which keep you in suspense. There are many dark moments which were both simultaneous funny and tragic at the same time, murderous and serene. The way the story unfolds, is masterful. Also, I find it rare to find children in a story such as this, completely non-irritating!

Oh definitely worth a watch. I'd recommend saving it when you can sit and watch a few episodes only as it really rewards your attention and is not a show which focuses on set pieces followed by filler material. Either way, watch it! :)

Ended up rewatching season 1 as the Mrs hadn't seen it. I forgot how funny this show is.

Marty: "His boss, your new partner; is going to be expecting him home!" Jacob: "And when he doesn't, they'll send another Mexican to take his place. If there's one thing Mexico is full of it is Mexicans."

I thought S2 was much better than S1 except for the Ruth character. She is my fav in the series and was kinda wasted this season.

As a whole, I find the series average, mainly because I think the stakes are just too high all the time. Forcing your protagonist in such precarious position 24/7 can work for a 2 hour move or 3-6 episode min series at best. Over the course of a 10 episode season it just too much to bear when episodes are almost an hour long and there is no lightness or humour in the show. There is no reason to have so many active players involved at once, it does not allow any character stuff to breath and short changes so many arcs.

Most presitige dramas have earned their corn by playing attention to micro stuff that this show largely papers over. I can imagine in Sopranos or BB, a FBI raid would be a mometous occassion and success/failure of same falling on minute details. In this show though it is just an event it occurs, criminal activities are easily hidden in a farm, bodies discovered and answered for etc. Whole Rachel Saga was also just rushed through when it could have been main storyline in a season with proper attention and care.

Then I also don't rate Bateman's acting at all in this issue. His universal go to reaction is that of a deer in headlights. Laura Linney pretty much got all the monoloues in S2 for good reason. They are starting to pivot to make her the main character now for same reason I think.

Overall I would probably still watch S3 since it is easy enough to binge over the course of a week and is engaging enough that you are interested in what comes next even if not overly engrossed by what is happening on the screen right then.

Binged season 1. They should have named the show "Breaking Bad: lake edition" :D

They even cast Skyler White as the cheating wife.

Well, aside for so many Breaking Bad similarities, the show is really good fun.

And season 2 is even better? Looking forward to start it tonight.

Brilliant, just wrapped up season 2 tonight. Found it hard to get into initially with Season 1 but right back on form with Season 2!

First two episodes of the second season have been great. I love how matter of fact and straight up Marty is. I just enjoy Jason Bateman I think.

Loved him in the film the gift, after that i will pretty much watch anything that he is in. Think he is great in ozark, now that the series has found its feet and other characters have grown he fits in very nicely.

Finished season 2. Like someone else said, it's a silly show, but it's good fun. A nice homage to Breaking Bad.

Looking forward to season 3. Ruth is my favourite character by the way.

Season 2 was superb. So many well fleshed our realistic characters and for once, the kids in a show aren’t annoying!

Laura Linney was excellent.
