Possibly. The bit about Wolves players approaching every game like a World Cup Final, unlike United players was a definite dig. A fair one too but making it via the press was pathetic.
Agreed. It really baffles me how Mourinho's man-management is turning out to be his short-coming. Till his Inter stint players used to talk about running through the brick wall for him. Maybe the problem is that he is not flexible in his philosophy of player management. Tailoring the approach to motivate different kinds of players. Something Fergie was a master of.

Its clear Pogba and Mourinho dont get along, one will be gone in the summer. I hope it´s Mourinho, eventhough I dont agree with Pogba bitching in the media, we have to empower our manager, no player should be able to criticize the manager and get away with it. But right now we don´t have the right manager and I fear losing Pogba will just take un backwards.

The sooner Jose is gone the better, we've become everything his haters said we would be.
Not sure Pogba should be coming out in the press telling the manager and his coaching staff how to do their jobs. No matter if it keeps the fans happy. His faffing about lost us a goal.

Conspiracy theory: This feels like a trap set by Mou. He'll probably make Pogba your captain in a game very soon and use it to prove a point that the media are against him.

Trump-like.

Unless Jose turns it around I can't see him lasting the season.
Pogba will stay for Zidane imo, plus I think Barca could be exposed this year so that move might not be as attractive as its made out to be.
Controversial perhaps but, I really don't think Barcelona were that interested.

If they were, he'd be gone

We all love United
If it's a briefing, i wonder who or why the club has to do this. Why not quietly take the captaincy off Pogba and give it to someone else? The manager and the players should only know, no need to announce to the entire world and fuel needless speculation. This club is in shambles, we'll never see and witness this in Fergie's reign

A battle of egos.

There will be no winners.
Agree. But I side with Mou on this one, even if it’s a battle of egos. No player should be bigger than the club. What he said post Wolves may be correct about attacking at home, but you do not bring your beef with the manager to the press.

Some poster here said that both should feck off. I couldn’t agree more. They are both toxic.

I hope the Glazers and Ed wake up to the fact that their star manager and signing have essentially derailed the season 10 games in.

Pogba was stopping the journos on purpose after games to throw digs at Mourinho. He did this after Leicester game and after Wolves. Surely he didn't see it coming with no response.

I think he knows exactly what he did and what he'll get from Mourinho, so that can push for a move in summer if things stayed the same.

What is unacceptable is the unprofessional behaviour and attitude of Pogba which is actually starting to somewhat overshadow the season, straight swap for Dybala in January might be in the best interests of all parties.

Who gives a feck about the captaincy really. It's that we're washing our dirty laundry in public all the time these days, it's absolutely cringeworthy. We don't keep stuff in house, it's just so crap to see.

They wouldn't have their players constantly flirting with him nonstop if they weren't interested, the club was in strong enough position to reject their advances though. The same happened with Verratti and Coutinho the summer he moved, they were very much keen on both but their respective clubs made it impossible

It's all part of their MO,destabilize a players situation at their clubs before sealing things when they have more leverage on their side and can finalize a deal more on their terms

An offer of 40 million plus two duds doesn't make me believe they were serious...

Pogba has more to give the club I think, Jose quite clearly doesn't. I'd be gutted to lose Pogba ahead of Jose.
If he will give more of mouthing of the manager, Jose or some future one I don't want it. Hes acting like he's bigger than the.club.

A journo isn’t going to make up a story that could be disproved the next time Pogba takes the field.

We are an utter shambles at the minute. Not a single element of the club (with the exception of the womens team) is functioning properly. It’s getting as bad as 13/14.

Wow, if there's any truth in this then we're having some big issues behind the scenes. Someone isn't going to make it through the season. Pogba, Mourinho or Sanchez. Someone will be gone by January.

wel we'll soon know if hes not picked when Valencia doesnt play, and let that be soon as for the life of me I cant see why a player who has no intention of ever learning English and is fast deteriating as a player was chosen anyway.

Again, all a part of their mode of operation when it comes to their targets,we've seen it before.

Plant the seeds in the players head with a lowball offer before having the player agitating for the move themselvses. Although the likes of Messi,Suarez,Pique and Xavi waxing lyrical over him surely means they're not interested I suppose...

Excellent people management skills there. After throwing all the players under the bus after the Wolves game, he has decided to continue his slash and burn tactics. How is any of this helping the fans, players or Club?

He has now been punished in a different way, and while this situation had previously been viewed at the club as almost a PR war between Mourinho and Pogba – with both seeming to say what they thought the fans wanted to hear – it is understood that this is one area where the manager now has the full backing of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Some among the Old Trafford hierarchy are now more openly muttering about how the problems Sir Alex Ferguson predicted when selling Pogba in 2012 have all come true, and many at the club are finding the Mino Raiola influence difficult.

United sources believe that the player has now had his head turned regardless of whether Mourinho is manager or not, and that he wants a move to Barcelona.
