I've no idea exactly when it was filmed. But if it was filmed when we were losing (or even when it was one all) then the prat would be the (former?) vice-captain who uploaded the fecking thing to Instagram. Not the two other lads he filmed.
Personally don't see the issue with having a joke with your team mates, but you know in this world where everything is scrutinised I can see why you say what you did.

I mean he was also on TV live on Sky talking with Shaw and Pereira during the game, but I guess its special now its on his instagram right.

You don't understand clamour for Zidane but then say Pochettino would be better for us? Overrating of Pochettino is really something on Caf, never seen it anywhere else, probably even Spurs fans don't rate him as highly as most of our fans do...
Maybe I am overrating Pochettino but I think he has the qualities to be successful. His teams are very well coached, play on the front foot and often look more than the sum of their parts.

Writing a manager off for not winning a major trophy at Spurs would be unfair (although failure to win any trophy in 4 seasons is more worthy of criticism). The fact that Spurs are even in the conversation these days shows how far they have come with him as manager.

He may not even be obtainable but if you look at other managerial options there are few better in my opinion. All great managers were without trophies once and not everyone can have the opportunity to start their career at a Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Difference is that Poch has shown on multiple occasions that he can't handle the pressure of the big occasions. When the expectancy & attention is on Spurs they fail, now that could be because it's Spurs - but the season Leicester won the title for example went above and beyond.

If he were to take the job here then the expectancy is that we are to establish ourselves as a top 2 club in the country, and improve our performances in Europe.

I just don't think he has the bottle to do it.

Zidane has managed a squad full of prima donnas that all but tossed out Ancelotti and guided them to 3 CL's, that's impressive. He also introduced the likes of Casemiro & Vasquez into the first team also - so he didn't just rely on the superstars.
You're making a good case for Zidane. The only reason I'm iffy about him is that he had basically a perfect squad in Madrid.

If Poch joins and after 2 years wins nothing (which will most likely be the case), you will be the guy who would want to hit the reset button.
You need to understand that hitting the reset button after every 2-3 years isn't serving us well.
The problems we have are deeper than the manager.
You don't know what I want.

I'll tell you what I do want. I want a manager with a clear style of play. I want us to attack the opposition and control matches. I want us to consistently finish in the top 3 of the league. If we're doing all of this but not winning trophies, I'd accept it and many here would I imagine.

It's the sh*t on a stick football and JM's stinking attitude most fans can't handle.

No and I'm tired of hearing this narrative. There is additional issues to the manager. But the main issue and reason for our anger is not 'deeper' than Mourinho (and the players to be fair) currently.

He picks the players, trains them, gives a shortlist of players to buy. He's been here 2 seasons already, used plenty of funds to buy his men and we still play like we've just met each on the day. Let's stop pretending someone else is managing the players - it's his job and he's being well paid for it.

I have always been a supporter of the man but he seems to have drifted away from the style that made his so successful. The old Jose always knew what his best 11 was and wasn't a big believer in rotation. It's his 3rd season here and I don't think he knows who his best 11 are?

Mourinho came as a serial winner, guaranteeing success. Doesn’t always work like that.
He came as a guy leading Chelsea in to a relegation battle, 1 point off the drop, in a bitter lawsuit with the club doctor (who was just doing her job) and at war with most of the players, especially Hazard. "Serial Winner" is probably what the board at Utd though they were hiring too. Totally ignored all the issues, and his last 12 months with Chelsea. Massive error.

Truth is Mourinho was already done when he joined Utd. He isn't right, and hasn't been since Madrid. Not the same Mourinho who won CL at Porto, back to back league titles with us and the treble at Inter. He's a shadow of his former self.

Quite hilarious to think, many posters actually believe Mourinho leaving would turn our squad into world beaters. The squad was awful when Mourinho arrived, and it's a better squad now. Simple as that. Change Mourinho, but it will still require changing 8 players get us to the level of City.

Of course the club are behind him, just like they were behind Moyes and van Gaal. Action will only be taken when everything gets toxic and beyond repair. We're run by people who only care about sponsorship's and social media followers.
The fact that we are getting so many social media followers because we are a bloody mess and are entertaining to the neutrals for completely the wrong reasons.

Even if the terrible performances and results are largely attributed to player selection/coaching/management-which is Jose’s fault, the fact that he’s not getting sacked yet and we’re going nowhere after 5 years post-SAF lies squarely with the board.

Dunno about “special” but yes, the fact he chose to upload footage of himself giggling away during a grim night for the club (the only video he uploaded in the last 24 hours) is clearly on a different level to being filmed from afar by Sky cameras.

Just a really silly/childish/unprofessional thing to do. You can see why it would piss Mourinho off. Even without the recent shit in the press (which compounds the stupidity of Pogba’s decision to share that footage)

I think Poch not having experience or hunger to win things is worse than working with the best players.
Madrid certainly have a superior squad, I think that Benitez's time there showed that their team will compete regardless of who's manager.

Zidane took them to another level and achieved something that had been out of reach for so long, then he did it two more times, including winning it back to back.

Also, he's played for some of the best teams in the world - I would trust him to identify what players are needed to work in a system.
He managed the Madrid Castilla team so I don't think he would be averse to playing youngsters - I just think that wasn't really encouraged at Madrid. Even then, Casemiro & Vazquez were important role players in their success too.

Zidane's career has been full of succeeding at the highest level, I'm struggling to see why that would suddenly stop.

Pogba looking bemused is as normal as the sun rising in the east. There is absolutely nothing in that video to warrant this discussion beyond the camps camps have already set themselves up in.

Had Pogbas walked off in a huff, or a scrap broke out between the pair then fine. At worst it looks like Pogbas arrives a bit late and Jose's commented on it, something like "thanks for joining us Paul"

Yup. We can’t fix everything at the club but a better manager would sure as shit help. There’s loads of examples of clubs with alleged deep and systemic problems that miraculously disappear when they get the right manager on board. Liverpool being a recent and painfully obvious example.

Funny that when you have some of the best players Europe has seen in the last two decades have nothing but great things to say about him.
Quotes aren't everything though. And most are going to be diplomatic.

Bit like Roy Keane saying Carlos Quieroz was an excellent coach but he regrets not smacking him.

Falling out with certain players is understandable. However, it seems Mourinho has even fallen out with himself. He likely needs a woman more than positive results.

I think people very underrate Spurs squad. They have some quality players and most importantly a well balanced team. Yes, they are well drilled and it's credit to Poch but at the same time I feel their on field performances are usually not that "exciting". However most important of all is that he seems to choose wrong tactics in every single important match. Anyway, I don't know where do we go when we sack Jose. There is really no one that you could say he would be a perfect fit for us.

Have to agree with that - I've never been interested in him as United manager.

Is there a reason why Jose Mourinho is manager of Manchester United now apart from the fact that "no one else is available"?

Because I am clutching at straws here, all we seem to have is his CV.

@Ramshock I saw you tearing into people for wanting Jose out last night, where do you stand on this? Why should Jose be given more time, can you see things vastly improving under him? Because it needs to be vast - we're awful.
If he got proper backing we would be better. Jose will go somewhere else after he leaves us and will win again.

The problems we have are deeper than the manager.
What “deeper problems” are preventing us from playing good football against (at least) middling-to-low tier teams, with the players we have got?

Neither of them are such an obvious route to success as Klopp/Pep and that’s for damn sure. Which sucks balls.

What Poch does offer is decent football and a fantastic record of youth development. Plus the possibility he might win things with a bit more money to invest. In the absence of any other obvious candidates I’d happily settle for that.

All Zidane offers is a recent record of winning prestigious cup competitions when handed the best squad of players in Europe. Which couldn’t be further from the task he’d face at United.
This is where I'm at.

I don't feel entitled. I don't even want trophies, I have had my fill under SAF. I just wanna enjoy watching football which isn't the game we play under Mourinho
Get rid of and ASAP, never has a sacking made more sense to me
Indeed. The entitlement claim is bullshit.

I'm still uncomfortable of the notion of getting rid of Mourinho if it is seen as a message that player power has taken precedence over the club as I think the Manager's role is too important to mess up.
Player power exists everywhere, I'm afraid. We avoided it at United because of Ferguson, but that's history now.

When a manager at a big club is successful, he's bigger than the players. When he is not, it isn't. That's it.

If we do decide that Mourinho’s time is up what we absolutely must not do is make a rushed decision.

If you look at the progress City and Liverpool are making it is because they identified who the right manager was for their club and then made the move when they had the opportunity.

There are so few managers who tick enough boxes to manage a massive club so you can’t just fall into a cycle of sacking a manager after a bad run of form and picking up the best manager available at that time.

In my opinion, that’s what happened when we sacked Moyes and it set us back another two seasons. Things were so bad that we had to make a change and LVG was deemed the best available option. I don’t believe he would ever have been on the shortlist to replace SAF and yet he was given the opportunity.

The Mourinho appointment on the other hand was an example of us identifying who we thought was the right man and moving for him. It was deemed irrelevant that LVG won the FA Cup and I believe he would have been replaced by Jose even if he had secured 4th place and CL football.

Perhaps time is telling that Jose was not the right choice but I still hope he will turn it around.
