Talking shit through the cage happens fairly regularly. Hell, Nate Diaz started talking shit to McGregor's team as he was fighting McGregor. It's nothing particularly unusual but the reaction to it was.

You can't leap into the crowd to attack people after a fight just because they're saying mean things to you. If you do you risk sparking the brawls we saw inside the cage, outside the cage and on the street, which is why Khabib is certainly going to get a much heavier punishment than McGregor will despite McGregor landing heavier shots in the brawl that followed.
Fair enough.

Why do people keep saying Conor threw first.

It's clear as fecking day what happens in that video.

1) Khabib vaults the cage and aims a flying kick at Dillon Danis.

2) A brawl ensues, Conor sees this and tries to vault the cage to join in to protect his team.

3) As he does, another of Khabib's team runs around the outside of the cage to attack Conor's team (you see this at 39 seconds, he runs between Conor and the camera man)

4) Another of Khabib's team attempts to vault the cage to attack Conor's team, Conor sees this and throws a punch at him, because that guy is trying to attack Conor's team. The guy may not have thrown a punch YET, but he had intentions to do so.

5) Both Conor and the guy he threw a punch at get back in the ring and are held back by security.

6) A member of Khabib;s team vaults back into the ring and circles around in front of Conor, words are exchanged and Khabib's teammate approaches Conor.

7) Conor, expecting this guy to throw a punch at Conor, does what you'd expect him to do and throws one too, to defend himself. This guy was intent on throwing a punch at Conor, undeniably so.

8) Another of Khabib's team, in red, jumps in and sucker punches Conor from behind.

9) The guy who Conor had originally thrown a punch at when they were both atop of the cage, then runs in and attacks Conor again.

10) They're all separated.

Nobody is innocent. But Conor did not instigate anything. Khabib is at fault. He started it, everything else is reactionary.

Both societies can teach that though...and, we’re talking about the response to that.

And you can get riled up, we all do, but again what’s the response? Saying “words have more weight” isn’t enough of an argument. That fact is the problem.
Both societies SHOULD teach that, and as I said the only reason we're discussing the consequences is if we're unable to prevent the cause.

No two people are alike in this and reactions depend on the circumstances, personality, upbringing ,surrounding and many more factors.

Different people have different reactions, that's all.

4....are a mind reader? Guy jumps up on the cage and sits there for a split second, Conor starts throwing. Guy retaliates.

So, the dude sprinted across the ring, jumped up on the cage and tried to get down because... he wanted to say hi to his friend in the crowd? Come off it, he had every intention of getting involved, as did everyone there.

I have no clue about whatever happened here, but that's the second time you're calling someone a cnut in a thread. That's against the rules, if you think any person has insulted you etc then report that post.

You're making a lot of assumptions here. There are plenty of places in the world where people have been living by a very different set of rules, for many generations. In fact, there are plenty of places where faith and family are, and always have been, more important than a human life.
And a sporting event at a Las Vegas hotel/arena governed by the Las Vegas athletic commission under Nevada state law is not one of those places

And my simple point is that nothing Danis was shouting justifies what khabib and his people did. Nothing said justifies almost starting a riot and attack people like that, endangering the lives of innocent people around just there to watch the event. If team khabib doesn't understand how sports work in the UFC and Las Vegas then they simply aren't qualified to be in the ufc no matter how tough they might be as street thugs.
Really not trying to justify what he did but can understand why he did it and you're expecting a guy who's a trained fighter, fighting and violence is his bread and butter coming off a fight against a guy whom he clearing dislikes, taking insults left and right and high on adrenaline to stay reasonable?

And you're again conveniently just ignoring the points I'm making.

Your last part regarding Kabib not understanding how sports work in the UFC and Vegas just highlights my point about different parts of the world ,different cultures, custums and believes.

Agree with the general point but in fairness you could just as easily say McGregor was going in to attack people and Khabib's teammates were going in to protect him. We're not mind readers, all we can say for sure is that Khabib sparked it by attacking Danis.

He called me names for posting video evidence of what happened. Then called me names for a post days ago in which I said Conor had a punchers chance in the fight, insinuating I had no idea what a punchers chance meant. I corrected him. Informed him what a punchers chance meant, and how it applied to Conor, and asked him to explain to us what he thinks a the term a punchers chance means. He called me names again.

I'm not sure english is his first language, so go easy on him.

Yet 99% of UFC fighters manage not to react like that. Khabib isn't the first fighter to be heavily insulted by his opponents nor will he be the last. He acted like he was unaware of how the fight game works.

If team khabib cannot understand and abide by the rules in the UFC and Las Vegas, the place that is paying them millions then they don't deserve to get paid. This isn't Dagestan mate. Dagestan customs, social norms, laws and rules don't fecking apply when team khabib is in Las Vegas representing a ufc sporting event.

If khabib does not have thick enough skin to take the insults that come with the job of being paid millions then he can go back to Dagestan and stop trying to make money in the ufc. If he wants to fight in the ufc and Vegas then he needs to abide the social norms and laws of Vegas not his home village.

You bringing up conor acting like a cnut is literally irrelevant to any of this. yes conor is a cnut. Doesn't mean team khabib are not also cnuts

A side point but just for the record, your definition of "puncher's chance" was wrong, as more than one person pointed out.

No excuse for calling you names mind. :)

99% of the UFC fighters don't have that much animosity amongst them and their teams as well tbh. Don't think it was only insults, remember the bus incident?

He had time to go over, he stops when he gets on top, then takes a swing from then gives

True, this was a particularly charged fight. Hell, it was even marketed as such, using footage of that bus incident.

There have been plenty of equally personal fights before though that didn't end like this.

Uh, a punchers chance means a long shot to win the fight, in boxing this is based on power, in MMA it translates to either power, or superiority in striking, but inferiority in other areas where you are the underdog.

That's exactly what I said Conor was in the post in question. That IS what Conor had. A punchers chance. Nothing more, nothing less.

" puncher's chance. This one comes from boxing and refers to the fact that even if you're an outclassed underdog, you can win a match with one knockout punch."

"In sports, and most specifically boxing, to have a “puncher’s chance” means that the person or team may not be the favorite to win a championship, but it could happen if the favorite isn’t careful. The puncher has the ability to land a knockout blow"

Tony planning his own recuperation is actually the worst thing I've seen / heard all night.
We may never see he v Khabib which is heartbreaking quite frankly.
