McGregor’s fanbase has to be the worst in all of sports surely. Worse than Floyd’s and Manny’s combined, and that’s saying something.
Bold statement to make as we watch Liverpool and City fans pour into the same stadium.

I don't know if he'll ever fight in the UFC again in my opinion he shouldn't, but i'm pretty certain he will get a lengthy ban so he won't be fighting for a while at least. He was already rumoured to be retiring after this or a GSP fight. This will probably make that decision for him.
He made as much in this fight as he probably has in his whole career. He's still young.

He won't be banned from the ufc anyway. NSAC may ban him from fighting in nevada for a while.

Unless Khabib wants to retire then he will fight again.

Very odd that the Irish didn't seem to show up in their customary numbers and voices last night. There was almost an oddly palpable vibe that a good number of people were wanting him to lose.
Aye, there was definitely a different vibe to this fight. The journalist Petsey Carroll highlighted it on Helwani's show before the fight too. Probably for the best really given how the night ended.

Plenty of people over here sick of him after the last year's antics.

They were rioting in the lobby! Sold out weigh in etc.
I'd say its more to do with the fans simply being accustomed to the entire thing these days. It doesn't stand out because its happened so often.

The journey for Conor is just over he is past his best and doesn't have the desire any more. It being over now doesn't change j ow fantastic it was 5 years ago. I trained in Conors gym for a few months and even 90% of those guys are over him.

If he fights his way back to the top in 2019 he will win back the respect but right now and before yesterday's fight most people that I speak to thought he was over the hill

I fear that Conor is on the cusp entering into a sort of Ronda Rousey territory - where one significant loss winds up psychologically damaging the fighter to where they can never reclaim the magic of the past, and given their star power, they simply opt to take their bags of money and ply their trade in the world of entertainment.

Yeah when Conor does anything it gets brushed off. When AKA do it - they all should be arrested. Right.. not your boy.

Depends on how much he gets fined, NSAC are holding his money.

Yeah of course, might not be in the UFC or the US though any time soon.

I'm not really the kind of type to care about morals when it comes to martial arts but to jump a guy who just got his ass handed to him and is visibly wounded and tired is just fecking low. And I'm referring to Khabib's camp here, especially the red shirt guy who climbed the fence and sucker punched Conor.

But then again, I just saw a clip of Conor hitting some dude on the fence first...

The meltdown of Khabib doesn’t get paid would be entertaining.

The UFC allowing Conor to act like a cnut was going to eventually lead to someone he fights acting the same way. He just had to come across someone who’s as much of a cnut. He did in Khabib. They have a lot to answer for in all this.

For the record, I don't mind Conor, but he's obviously getting special privlige. Throw a dolly whilst being cocked off your head... No problem... make it a promo. Khabib digraded, gsts called a backward cnut, has his father insulted (who by the way is a master in Sambo and Judo), he insults Dagestan... and when Khabib goes after the whole team smashing McGregor... That's out of order now? You know what it is?

McGregor bit off more than he can chew. I keep saying them fecking Chechens and Dagestani aren't no Irish Gangsters. They literally run governments. Kadyrov is under Putin's regime and I gurarantee you he has full backing of GRU, Vympel. He has battle hardened Chechens ready wage jihad at his say so. There was already people warning Conor. Them guys actually managed to intimidate Fedor which is bizzare to say the least. Conor needs to shut his fecking mouth for his own good. There is no amount of money that can save you from them.

That was a terrible episode. Putin really does need to reign Kadyrov in when he steps out of line like that.

Where and when?

In the video above, Karim discusses Fedor's criticisms over Ramzan Kadyrov's choice to place his underage sons in MMA fights on a professional show; the backlash and threats that "The Last Emperor" faced from Chechen fighters and Kadyrov's associates; Fedor's daughter being attacked and if it was linked in any way; the Kremlin ruling against Kadyrov regarding children fighting in MMA and if it will actually stick; Kadyrov's alleged assassination attempt; Fedor's often-misunderstood relationship with Vladimir Putin and why it's not what it seems; the rumors surrounding Fedor's next fight and which promotion it may be for, and more
If they did that do a next biggest star to Karelin, in terms of wrestling -- what you think they will do to McGregor? I honestly believe he should shut about Caucasus region if he knows what's good for him.

Wait. So Paul Daley was never allowed to fight in the UFC again because Dana was so disgusted by his post fight punch against Koscheck (it didn’t even connect). Yet Khabib might get away without a ban for that.

There is no defence for him. Religion, family, country. It really doesn’t matter. Things like that are said all the time before fights.

I don't care about mcgregor. Also the world has evolved past might makes right. If you can't play by the rules/norms of the sport then don't enter the sport.

And I look forward to seeing Tony Ferguson fight khabib. I'll be placing a bet on "my boy" Ferguson taking out "your boy" khabib

You know yourself @Raoul Putin has little control over Kadyrov. Russia are just happy that Kadyrov is pro Russia because we couldn't possibly afford a third Chechen war. And have you seen Grozny? It's one of the most modern cities in Europe. It's a marvel. I know I'm blabbering but can you imagine a 3rd chechen war? The financial effect and more importantly the mental effect that it would have? fecking no way!!

I don't think Kadyrov has that much power as Putin would fear any individual acquiring that much influence to the point where it may one day endanger him or his policies. Putin is simply allowing Kadyrov his autonomy to do his thing but within reason.

Connor threw a dolly at a bus. Injured fighters and actually cost the promotion money. And there he was, getting mauled by Khabib

After last night Khabib is the second biggest draw in the promotion, and the clearly the best fighter. No way they cut him

Its all a business game for Dana and the UFC. Daley was largely a minnow when the incident took place and fighters who don't make money for the sport AND bring it into disrepute are obviously going to be get ushered out quickly.

They wouldn't cut him but they could suspend and strip him much as what happened to Jon Jones.

He won't get away without a ban (the Nevada commission will hit him with something) but there's no way he gets the Paul Daley treatment. Consistent treatment of fighters isn't exactly the UFC's byword.

They probably will. And the ban will end just in time for his fight against Ferguson ;)

Yeah he'll get fined, and they could just strip him and suspend him for 3-6 months. He'll definitely be back and a fight with Ferguson would be the top drawing match now I think

He continually called him a "backwards cnut" he continually said that the Dagestani people ran into mountains without really fecking knowing anything. It's really fecking dumb and you think it's fair game then I suppose I've nothing more to say to you.
You’ve lost it in this thread. There’s no way that what you’ve posted above constitutes treating people like savages.

More importantly though no one said it was ‘fair game’, so stop using made up arguments to try and defend your backward and uncivilised views. Comments around religion and country might be insulting but in a modern society they don’t justify assault. The fact you think attacking people because they say things you don’t like is the only way for a “self respecting human” to behave suggests that you need to grow up.

In fairness it's the first time I've heard the phrase "smell of shite off your Da!" at a UFC event.

Russian federation as whole allow a lot of autonomy to republics. Bashkhortostan, Tatarstan are sunny but very moderate. I don't think Chechnya, Dagestan are like that. It's a melting pot that no one wants to touch and I think Putin is doing exceptionally well with Kadyrov for the time being.

Khabib looked like a really frustrating person to fight.

Agree that there was something off about Connor. His demeanour didn't have the usual edge. Looked he'd had enough well before he tapped. Then again it's quite hard to judge body language when you're being twisted out of shape by a big Russian bloke.
Watch the start of the fight again. At one point McGregor is walking around head hanging, looking at the ground. I think he went in there knowing he had very little chance. Would probably explain why he went at him in the pre fight, over compensating.

What's the point in a rematch? Conor got schooled and his schtick caused this shit storm.....but then again, that same schtick is what got them paid and likely let off the hook. It's showbusiness.

Nate III is his level.
