They’ve got quite a few who are punching. Not convinced Di Sciglio, Bonucci, Matuidi, Cuadrado or Bentancur would be all that if you put them in any other team.
Agree completely. They're not convincing at all. Barca could still take them easily over two legs, as could City and Liverpool.

You need to pick a different team or sport mate. If you can't derive enjoyment from wins like that then perhaps it's time to move on?

Nights like tonight are what we need to savour. They can also give players a huge confidence boost and confidence in sport is huge.
Don't mind the Jose haters. They are truly a miserable bunch who are desperate to see us lose.
Our recent run of decent results is hurting them badly and I take great joy in seeing that.

Martin Keown in the last couple of minutes of the game genuinely said it could be Manchester United’s best ever win in the Champions League...:wenger:
When it comes to winning in the Champions League, Martin Keown's view doesn't hold too much weight.

This is only the 2nd time Juve have lost a CL group game, in the last 15 years....apparently.

Swedish reporter just asked Jose about the scenes at the end. Jose asked her is she knew italian, which she said no. Then he said that she should ask the FA so that they can translate it to her while laughting
Hahaha. Nice one Jose.

Many many many of Fergie's European away victories were not unlike this win tonight. Under pressure a lot of the game, second best at times, giving away chances but staying organised and playing until the end to get something.

If you can't enjoy the win then that's a real shame.

We need to defend well against City for sure, then smash and grab.
If we can go in 1-0 down at HT, I fancy us to beat MCFC.
MCFC need to score 3 goals. That's the only way you can completely kill MUFC.

Frist since 2008/09, cant remember the year, but a damn long time.

Incredible really. We started declining significantly until we both made subs and ours paid off where as theirs cost them the game.

They were the better team which I think most expected but it wasn't as much of a smash and grab as some are saying. We gave them a good game and played very well.

It should do wonders for our teams confidence. Which is very fragile.

So next round, we play Young Boys at home while Juve host Valencia. If these results go as expected we could be through after the next game and not have to worry about the trip to Valencia. I'd take that.

Bit of a smash and grab. We were definitely better then we were at home, though.

From the start of the game, we pressed up the pitch, and at times, won the ball high up the pitch.

We kept the ball pretty decent at times, and created good openings, but we didn't really threaten.

Think we responded well, having gone a goal down. Again, created some good moments, but never really looked like scoring.

Thankfully, two moments of magic won us the game. Mata's free kick and Young's delivery.

Great win and should give us plenty of confidence going into the next game.

Scholes saying Szczesny hasn't improved since he left Arsenal. How many times do you reckon he has watched him since?
Probably once, and hes not really wrong. He's an obvious weak link in that side.

Very good win for United, congrats. Felt we were unlucky and should be up by at least another goal before Mata’s freekick, but thats football. On to the next one.

I think there is still the bones of a decent side in there somewhere. Herrera made a huge difference, dunno where he has been all season. The first half pressing and counter-attacking was exactly what we have been missing all season. You can start to see the pieces of the jigsaw that fit and the ones that don't. I think Rashford on from the start would have really stretched them. Pogba was awful. The mobility of Lingard has really been missed, because he is always available to receive the ball and when he's not he is dragging the opposition players around and creating space. I would start with the same line up at City, but maybe with Rashford instead of Sanchez.

Sadly for us old timers this seems to be the current prevailing attitude on your lovely forum. Winning like tonight is what Ferguson brought us all up on.

People moan that the team has no identity, but comebacks and late goals was our identity for 20 odd years and long may it continue.

It is much more satisfying winning as underdogs and battling to the end to do it.

Bring on City.

I think you can let us have this one. Hopefully both teams go through and if United can't win it I'd be happy to see Juve win instead.

We only threatened in the last 15 minutes after we made our subs and juventus brought barzagli to protect their lead. It gave us back the initiative andd turned the game in our direction. Before that was quite poor.

This is the Jose we know and love

Not the guy who whines about a lack of funding on a near weekly basis, not the guy who enters open conflict with half his squad and board members, not the guy who feels the need to constantly remind the world of what he has achieved in his career and certainly not the guy who publically condemns his own players after a poor team performance.

More wise cracks, more winding up of opposition players/managers and more witty comments in the press are what the fans want to see. Make them hate us. Make them adore us, but for the love of god don't let them ignore us.

So we have a better head to head than Juve right? Or do away goals not count like this?

I thought you guys were in total control but should've taken your chances when you were on top. Khedira and Cuadrado epseicslly. 1-0 always leaves the game open and we basically attacked for the last 10 minutes only and got 2 goals out of it. It happens.

Absolutely brilliant, just shows what can happen when you stay in games! We were always going to need a bit of luck to get something and we got it. Fantastic strike by Ronaldo but Mata and Fellaini made a huge difference when they came on. Tell you what, the Moyes boys don't half score some big goals for us.

Hopefully Valencia away will be a dead rubber now. Hopefully!
