He is so talented. Under good management he can only get better.
Very happy that Martial signed, I think it's down to Ole. Things going in the right directions now.

How so? He did an admirable job playing under less than ideal conditions for a manager who didn't fancy him and made that clear repeatedly publicly. I'd argue that he's got quite a bit of mental fortitude for coming out on the better end of a situation that would've discouraged many his age.

What would your armchair psychologist diagnosis conjure?
In a way, everyone posting here is an armchair expert. Be it giving a positive review or a negative one about a player or the team or Ole or Jose. So I don't think anyone talking positively (in an expert way) should be claiming the moral high horse.

I am not saying he is mentally weak and can't put a fight. But looking from outside, when things don't go his way, he sulks up a bit and eventually comes through fighting, but it takes a lot of time. And as an "armchair expert", I think his high levels (based on potential) would be brought out sooner, if he reacted much more fiercely to the situation and tackled it head on.

Anyways, it is all speculation. Maybe he is an absolute fierce fighter, but his usual silent demeanor is what makes it feels he is not.

Reports of £250k a week, delighted he signed but wow we are going to make it harder and harder for ourselves to sign/keep players with these kinds of wages.

Most reports I've read state 200k including bonuses. not sure where you're getting 250.

Now that is some welcome news indeed. Now the board need to give DDG what he wants to get him on a new contract. Oh and a new CB would be most welcome too.

We all love United
Great news. Off topic but Rashford is only on 30k per week is he not? Ed needs to improve his contract and give him a massive payrise well

This is great! So much more positivity around the club now compared to a few weeks ago.

It's good news and hopefully the first of a few new contracts. As others have said I'd love Dave to be next.

He's a massive talent. Hopefully he'll translate that into being a genuinely top footballer for the next few years.

Happy that he renewed.
I read he's going to earn 250k a year. A bit much for a 23 year old but ok :)
Thanks for posting that. If he is around that figure then I think its fair. He is easily one of our best players and we are expecting him to improve further. If for whatever reason it doesn't work out (very unlikely), there will always be a club willing to take a risk on him given what he has produced so far. All in all, a good deal.

Delighted. Now let's play him closer to goal. He should be scoring 30 goals a season. Him and the team need to work on getting that out of him.

Happy he has signed, but the wages being touted are ridiculous for him. Has he done enough for us to be earning 200-250K a week?

It would be definitly too much... might start on a lower wage and it rises annualy until it reaches 250k.

Wasn‘t pogba on such a deal according to football leaks?

Bet he's on £800,000,000 a week. Woodward out!

Good news. To many good seasons to come.

Music to the ears

Really glad that the fan support seems to have played a part in driving him towards signing off most of his prime years to the club

Can we also sign a personal psychologist for him? Seems to get easily affected by several factors.
I don't know if that's needed. He managed to become a regular under Jose after a year of being marginalized (as it's clear now) very unfairly by a dictator. I think he's strong enough .

For all the talk of Ole, and rightly so, I think he’d be absolutely sensational under Pochettino.

Brilliant news as he’s our best forward and potentially world class with the right management, to think Jose was up for selling him on to replace him with Willian is a scary thought.

Getting Martial signed up for another 5 years and moving Fellaini on in the same week is a very positive week so now we need to sign De Gea up for another 5 years and decide on a Director Of Football as the next two big jobs to be sorted, positive steps forward are happening.
