I think we win with 3-0 if it gets a really cool night. 5.0 C or preferably colder would be perfect. If it is warmer they will probably have one or two goals, then it will be a tough match away.

I’m interested to see if we play Lingard in the false 9 position with Martial and Rashford as the wide forwards, similar to how we played against spurs or whether we go Martial-Rashford-Lingard
Seems to me it kind of depends on what PSG do. Mbappe plays on the right normally, is that true? If he's up against Shaw, that gives Young a certain amount of license to get forward, which means Lingard, starting 'on the wing', can drift inside to where he's actually useful, and Rashford can play as a proper CF.

If Mbappe might start or switch to attack down their left, Young will basically be pinned back all day to avoid leaving any space for Mbappe to run into, and then we're probably better giving Rashford a 'wide' starting position on the right because someone will need to attack that space and putting our most dangerous forward there will either require Mbappe to do a bit of defensive work or it will isolate the FB or it will drag midfielders across to help him.

Tl;dr: who we start on the 'right wing' depends on whether our RB is able to attack, which depends on whether Mbappe will stick to the other side or not.

They've got so many world stars it's crazy.

We have a decent first 11.

Our togetherness as a team will need to take us through the inevitable tough moments in the game. We'll need a lead to take to Paris so let's hope Ole stays true to his beliefs and we go all out to spank these wankers.

With Cavani out injured they could very well play Mbappe as a striker.

I think with Cavani out it could be Mbappe through the middle? Which I assume means will start Bailly to combat the pace.

In which case we could go with either shape. I haven’t seen PSG play this season, do they play with a high line?

Really worried about Bailly and his love for rushing into tackles vs Mbappe.

At this rate, with PSG's luck, I'm more worried about Mbappe in that scenario.

Ah ok I thought the Cavani injury wasn't expected to last, fingers crossed (if I can say that without being a cold bastard, that is.) I fancy our chances of handling Mbappe better through the middle than up against a FB. We play a fairly deep back line under Ole so there'll be less space to run into.

Apparently Cavani is out for both legs. Right, we have got to be favourites now considering they're missing two of their the three best players. Mbappe is world class but unless he turns into prime R9, we surely have enough to beat them.

PSG will still have a stronger starting XI than we do, their bench players are better than our starters at severals positions.

They've got some very good players for sure. But with Neymar out, and possibly Cavani and Meunier I don't think their XI would be better than our first XI.

Our midfield has started to click, the attack is fluid and quick, it's only really the backline that is suspect. We don't have top quality in depth, in any part of the pitch, but the first XI looks the best it's done in years.

A front three of ADM, Draxler and Mbappe is nothing to scoff at.

At the same time, we should still look to end the tie on Tuesday.

The arrogance of the French pundits is mind boggling. So much so that I want this to be a complete razzia, just for them to realize what's really happening.

    I demand at least 3-0.

All guns blazing please. OT will be rocking, they'll be nervous. Nobody give us a chance when it was announced. None of the reactive shit Mourinho served up.

Huge game, yet I'm strangely at ease. Whatever happens happens. We need to make sure we're in control at the back (and midfield, but most importantly not flapping when attacked). The rest I'm confident with.

Veratti played 60 min against Bordeaux, which PSG won 1:0.
According to my source they played 442 with Veratti and Alves in midfield.
No Draxler on the bench. No Di Maria, no Diarra. I don't know if the latter is injured or rested.
With Veratti just returning, Diarra injured (I hope that's the case) and their reluctance to play Rabiot, because of contract stand off I think we'll run a riot in midfield.

I suppose they might play 442 again with Mbappe and Chuppo Moting (is that right?) up top and Draxler and Di Maria on the wings. I guess that's where they'll try to hit us - overload the sides and switch the play quickly as we might commit too many players to press each wing. I am only worried about Mbappe - I think the other players' qualities are match for match with ours, or even we're better.

I am curious if we'll play a diamond. Did Sanchez start on the bench vs Fulham so he can rest or Martial was taken off so he is rested? I suppose it will be Martial, Rashford and Lingard, with the latter being subbed off for Sanchez in the late minutes.
I don't think T.Silva is a match for Rashford's form and Pogba dropping between the lines will give them too much headache and confusion who to take care of first. I can see Jesse or Martial scoring from a rebound. Can't exclude a goal with Rashford on the end of Shaw's cross or same scenario with Young and Pogba.

    Predictions:
    2:0 / 3:0 / 2:1 / 3:1

We leak goals against a decent attack, so we'll let 2 in.
Hopefully we can score more than them?

2 months ago i didn't expect anything but now it is like we play Fulham. I don't care what team is on another side. Psg is not Barca or real .
Without Cavani and Neymar they are not that good. Plus they don't have too much big matches in season. It is huge thing. You play on 60-70% nearly whole year and now you must raise your game. It is not easy.
Brain says 3-2, 2-1. Heart says 3-0. :wenger:

True. I remember Martial saying in an interview that Paris whether isn't much better than Manchester.

I think the poster has Paris confused for California or something.

I just watch their highlights against Liverpool at Anfield and they were toothless and lucky to score 2 goals. They got completely dominated while Mbappe and Neymar were mostly kept quiet.

Their form away from home in the CL is quite average and pretty absimal against decent oppositions.

No Cavani and no Neymar means that they will play without their best striker and their playmaker (and of course one of the best in the world).

It means that now Paris have “only” two dangerous guys in Di Maria and Mbappe of course. This one will play alone up front in a 4-2-3-1 probably and just to say that he will hurt us in counter attacks. So let’s be focus on this and don’t be sucked too easily by them. That’s why I would play Bailly against him as he’s I think our fastest CB.

Another thing to be warry of his their strength on set pieces. Marquinhos is an absolute monster in the offensive box as he usually goes in the first post. I hope Pogba won’t charge him. It will be important to keep him and Thiago Silva on set pieces.

Then, the last thing is of course having Ander pressing Verratti. The Italian didn’t play for 6 weeks and is only training for 5 days. Ander should be on his toe and I am sure that this tie will be played in midfield. Marquinhos will not hurt Pogba much if he’s playing at his best, Ander must mark Verratti and don’t let him play, when Matic should absolutely take care of Draxler or Di Maria coming inside.

    To resume :

    - Don’t let Mbappe run behind in counter attacks è Bailly on him + Young and Shaw covering

    - Herrera on Verratti

    - Set pieces with strong one vs one on Thiago and Marquinhos (Jones and Bailly on them + Shaw in first post)

Don’t forget that PSG are built to win the Champions League when we are only dreaming of top four this season. Let’s play well and show to Europe that we are back. Hope for a win but my head would be happy with a draw (I am still hurt by the Mourinho era)

    ----------------------De Gea------------------------
    Young-----------Jones-----Bailly-----------Shaw
    --------------Herrera-------Matic----------------
    Lingard--------------Pogba----------------Martial
    -----------------------Rashford---------------------

    ----------------------Mbappe-----------------------
    ------------Snakeman---------Draxler------------
    Bernat--------Verratti---Marquinho------Alves
    -----Kimpembe—Thiago Silva------Kehrer------
    ----------------------Buffon-------------------------

No, I'm talking about PSG, not about Paris. But the parable is pretty good, I think they have a "tropical mentality" in the team. If the circumstances are difficult, they have greater problems than MU to handle it well. :D
