Tuhel is trying to be enigmatic when asked about Cavani's possible absence on Tuesday.

That basically means both him and Verratti will start.

Feels like forever since we had a tie like this in the CL. I wouldn't count Bayern because of how bad Moyes was, so I guess the nearest would've been Real Madrid in 2013.

I think we're slight favourites on the night but not overall. This said, I have no idea what the score will be, it could be anything.
Ehm hello  Welbeck or Rooney have had great chances after Mandzukic's 1-1....a 2-1 lead (3-2 for us in aggregate) with 25 minutes to go and Moyes would have beaten a strong Bayern Munich side with Guardiola as coach.....Van Persie was a big miss too because Welbeck's finishing in both games was shocking.

Can’t wait for this. It is our best chance in the CL since peak Rooney. Very unlikely we will go into the CL knockout matches in such good form again in the near future. Dreamt that we could sort the form out to at least give us something to play for this year, but never imagined this. OT will be electric.

Whoever said, 'how time flies', wasn't talking about me waiting for this match.

    Young. VNL Bailly . Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera. Pogba
    Lingard
    Rashford. Martial

I'm confident that we will win 3-1.

Sorry I probably wasn’t clear enough. Going into that Bayern tie the feeling I had around the club was more apathetic and the feeling that anything we got would be a bonus. Obviously this stemmed from how poor we were under Moyes, and our awful league position.

By contrast, for this tie I am feeling confident we can go and put up a good fight, and have at least some expectation for a good performance. I’m a lot more positive in my outlook for this game than I was before the Bayern game in ‘14.

The next 4-5 fixtures could really define our season. Do bad in these and the season is back to super shite again.

Hope so. Atmosphere was dire against Sevilla last season.
Can't blame them. Wait two months for a game just to see your side park the bus against a team that is in worse form than you are.

PSG are much stronger than us, even with raft of injuries their front 3 is going to be Draxler, Mbappe and Di Maria. Defence will have to play out of their skin for us to get through this tie.

Good thing is we aren't going to play like chickens and actually have a go at their defence, so we stand a chance. Should be a cracker!

As long as we don't setup with a suicidal high line in defence we should be okay, Jones should not be in the XI as we need Bailly's physicality and pace vs him.

I hope De Gea can frustrate him as well, he usually steps up in CL matches.
Draxler and di Maria aren't scary.

Is that front three supposed to be impressive?
If so then PSG should be shitting themselves facing our front four.

We should bring in Rojo in the last few minutes just to slide tackle Di Maria. We can't let that snake score against us.

PSG don't sound very hopeful on Cavani playing in the first leg, could be a factor in the tie if United get a good result on Tuesday. It would be pretty surreal to see Chopou-Mouting lining up for PSG in a Champions League game at OT, he was barely noticeable at Stoke. Seems to play mostly from the bench, though.
They still have plenty of other players to cause United problems, but if United defend properly and have a real go then winning the tie isn't beyond them.
The fact that United are underdogs doesn't do any harm either.

Writes itself really, I guess apart from who partners Big Vic in defence. My guess is probably Jones since he has the most minutes recently and actually did well yesterday.

    ----------De Gea-----------
    Young-Jones-Lindelof-Shaw
    -----------Matic-------------
    ------Herrera--Pogba-------
    Lingard--Rashford---Martial

God it feels good to know we'll just play our best team and go toe-to-toe with them, rather than any of this "well Jose might prefer a more defensive player next to Matic in the middle" or "Martial will be benched for this since he doesn't track back."

This is how it should be. Our best vs your best (apart from Neymar, and if you could leave Cavani at home that'd be great).

It won't be a surprise if they don't even start Choupo Moting for me. He's just not good enough for the CL level.

Lots of people saying OT will be electric but the PSG ultras will no doubt end up taking over.

I’m not sure there will be much of a home advantage

    TF1 predicts likely PSG XI

    See the tweet here.

    Buffon

    Kehrer T.Silva Kimpembe Bernat
    Verratti Marquinhos
    Alves Draxler Di Maria

If that is the starting XI for PSG that TF1 have predicted, I really fancy our chances we can get a good result on Tuesday.

Anyone have an idea of how their fans are feeling about this match? Are they expecting to win or are they nervous?
They are excited like you but just concerned by injuries

The overall feeling is "It will be much more difficult than expected and we are curious to discover the starting 11'

    Diverse views:

    - The majority thinks Pogba is your star player
    - Some think it's part of our DNA to be cursed and injuries in the most important part of the season
    - Some would say 'Please no Dani Alves in midfield'
    - Others "Let's be conservative in the 1st leg and be strong in the return with Verratti in a better shape; and hopefully Cavani back
    - Some "We are so cursed with injuries that I am confident. Stronger than ever when in a bad position"
    - Some consider the referee as a joke
    - Some want Rabiot back but others strongly hate him
    - ...
    -...

Are you forgetting the game against us when he could have had a hattrick?
    1. He played against Bordeaux and - given his performance - you can be sure he won't be part of any starting 11.
    2. His last goal was scored in September
    3. I think Choupo version Stoke was stronger than the PSG version.

2-0 at Old Trafford followed by a score draw in Paris to send United through and Ole's reputation sky high!

Two more goals from our French stars on Tuesday night!

Draxler and di Maria aren't scary.
Di Maria is not a scary or a very consistent player these days. That said, I won't be surprised if he scores a goal against his former club.

Also, strangely in the big games, he can score some nice goals

    - France vs Argentina at the World Cup: Di Maria did nothing but scored a goal.
    - PSG vs Barcelona in 2017: he also scored a goal
    - This season, he saved us against Napoli at the last minute

We shall see but I don't trust what Tuchel or RMC are saying especially considering the magnitude of this game mate.

This still isn't a bad looking team on paper:

    Buffon
    Meunier T.Silva Marquinhos Kurzawa
    Di Maria Paredes Nkunku Draxler
    Mbappe Choupo-Moting
I'd still fancy one or two of their big names to make a miraculous recovery as well.

    Cavani unavailable

Loïc Tanzi says he will definitely miss the first leg and it is a race against the clock for him to be available for the return leg.

In a later tweet, he says that the muscle affected is the sartorius in his right thigh, which explains why Cavani was complaining about his hip as well.

Their thread for the game. My French is very limited but interesting to see the line-ups they have posted for themselves.

    https://leforum.culturepsg.com/index.php?showtopic=7509
Diverse teams as you can see.

Personally, I would do something like that --->> very defensive and conservative, counter-attacking football

    M'bappé
    Draxler------------------------Di Maria
    Marquinhos----- Verratti
    Bernat----------------------------------------------- Meunier
    Kimpembe---Thiago Silva--Kehrer
    Buffon

So, we can guess 10 guys at 99%.

The only one uncertainty is between Dani Alves/Paredes/Meunier IMO

Can't wait for this. Hopefully an amazing European night for us.

Our main lineup is well known now. I'll prefer Bailly for Jones because we'll need pace to contain Mbappe.
