Chelsea knew that before they signed him. If they brought him to immediately win trophies, they are stupid. As you said he's never won anything.
They brought him to revolutionise their football. You don't give up after six months. Not after a good start and not as if they're way down on the table.
City started laying the ground for Pep about two seasons before he got there. Hiring the DoF that he's worked with before so they could start signing the players he would like when he arrived.

Sarri can't say he hasn't been backed either though, he's had a great summer and even got his beloved Higuain in January. There's a point where you just have to say he's not a very good manager. Either that or give him two seasons and see where you are June 2020.

Chelsea are suffering because they are going away from what made them good. Not every club suits good football.

People always say that but, if that is true they did a really poor job at it.

His Sarri ball is just proving( at least to me) how would look Pep's tiki-taka without world class players. It is style which is basically shit

Exactly, that's why he had a bad first season. Pep's another one who can only play one way and unless he has the players he needs to make it work then he'll fail.

People keep talking about Ole's job at Cardiff but imagine Pep somewhere like that? Relegated, 100%.

Of course he can't say he hasn't been backed, the same way Pep can't say he wasn't backed after his first season. The point is, if you're going to completely change the ethos of the way a football club play, you need time.
Sarri might indeed be a dud but it's too early to make that judgement especially as you say, they haven't laid the proper ground work for his arrival.

Agreed. I think if you're going to bring in a manager like him you need to give him two seasons to get the club where he needs it to be. Sacking him after 6 months is just bizarre.

Yep. Some of his decisions are very questionable but sacking at this stage is strange and makes no sense. Fighting for EL, top 4 race, league cup in feburay and still complaining? Where did those supporters think they would be?
I can't help though but feel some of their fans deserve Mourinhos dour shite on stick football. Chelsea is not the right club to make a revolutionary style of football work.

No they didn't. They didn't know he's going to feck their entire midfield and keep fecking it every match and alienate their second best player instead of adapting to what he has and tweak his style a little bit to suit the league like any proper manager does. They didn't know he'll be so stubborn on his subs repeating them as they're every match and will be putting Zapacosta for Azpi while they were losing 2-0. They didn't know they'll end up under him with no attacking plan nor defensive plan and a big hole in the middle. They knew nothing of this.

Another point is they're not even good to watch. They're still as boring as ever. Only difference is they were previously boring while winning stuff, now they're boring while getting thrashed by any decent team, so Sarri has even failed in providing them any kind of good football that's worth the risk.

They hired him to provide some decent football and be around the top 3. He's failing big time in both and as I said, what he did in his previous career doesn't show any reason for Chelsea to stick with him and endure the humiliation. He has never managed a big club and has never built a title winning squad to be sure this style is going to work eventually like Pep for example. Chelsea took the risk appointing him and it's showing up to be another case of Scolari and AVB. They have history with these kind of managers, a terrible history actually.

I desperately hope he stays on as long as possible.

Until we at least build up a decent lead over them anyway.

He's been shocking though to be fair, his refusal to change a failing formula is baffling. Can see why Chelsea fans are annoyed, it's been great fun to watch them recently.

Because Zola worked out well in his brief spell at Birmingham:nervous:
I haven't done enough research re his jobs abroad but he has done well with his English jobs bar Brum.

That said i don't think he's the right man for us bar interim.

About as good as Ole at Cardiff!
The two situations were very different. Ole took over an out of their depth Cardiff side, odds on to get relegated. Zola took over a Birmingham side who should have been aiming for the top half of the Championship and only won 2 of his 24 games.

I disagree mate. Guardiola won the title with Barcelona B, playing in the fourth tier I think, so he’s proven he can play a certain way with inferior players.

Brendan Rodgers, a far inferior manager (though underrated on here) got Swansea promoted from the championship playing a certain way and established them as a premiership side, I fail to see why Guardiola would struggle while Brendan flourished.

As for the Cardiff comments regarding Ole, Cardiff is a shit club and the whole club is adverse to playing anything resembling good football. Bar maybe the season when Koumas was pulling the strings, and inexplicably Cameron Jerome putting them away.

They won the league title 2 years before Pep came to the club, then signed the likes of Sterling and De Bruyne. Just because Pep needed to replace the keeper and a couple of full backs means they did a really poor job?

For me he’s made this Chelsea side far too easy to play against.

Athletic player near Jorginho, a man on Hazard and they won’t do anything.

Chelsea have a decent set of players but his tactical selections have been baffling.

Jorginho's just like Xavi, take him away from that amazing Barcelona side under Guardiola and he only wins the League, Champions League and Euros . Jorginho has 17 career assists, Xavi gets that in 1-2 seasons. Joke of an article.
Yeah that was a really silly point, completely misunderstanding Xavi. Xavi was almost impossible to mark out of a game, and much more creative than Jorginho.

Don't need an athletic player, even Mata will do.

I would love Zidane at Chelsea. I am one of those people that was skeptical about his accomplishments at Real Madrid. Chelsea doesn’t have an amazing team and this would be an amazing platform to showcase his managerial capabilities.
Zidane has the balls to play youth players though. He will also be able to keep those Chelsea dressing room ego in check. Players will instantly have respect for him.

I sure hope they stay away from him.

I find the Hudson Odoi stuff weird. I mean I would probably be a bit annoyed he didn't come on a bit more often if I was a Chelsea fan, but he isn't as good as Hazard, Pedro or Willian.

The problem with philosophy managers is that the philosophy seems to always end up being more important than what the players are actually good at.

It’s stick or twist for Chelsea. They hired Sarri to revolutionise their style of football. You shouldn’t give up on that after six months. Give him time to get his players in and then judge him.

Too late for that. He's done if he loses the cup final.

Sarri must be fed up of Manchester by now.

This really does look like a cheap shot. Any chance to have a go at the fans Eh?

The fans aren't complaining about the position in the league or the final on Sunday. They are complaining about the style of play and the predictability. If the manager goes now they have a chance of retrieving something from the season. If he stays, the downward trajectory will continue and they will get nothing.
If Utd had sacked Mourinho a bit earlier they would have been looking at the PL title by now. Sometimes you just have to replace the manager. Timing is difficult but I can't help but feel he will be gone early next week. He can only stop that by wining against Malmo and City on Sunday. Fat chance!

For me the answer would be for JT to come back with Zola as his right hand man until the end of the season. His enthusiasm, knowledge of the game and team talks would immediately lift the dressing room and club as a whole. There's no way JT wouldn't know how to set this team up. He could have Ampadu as his on field protégé and Kante back in front of the defense breaking things up. Hazard and Higuaín up front splitting defenses, Callum Hudson Adoi tearing up the wings and Emerson at LB. Chelsea have at least two genuine world class players and Sarri isn't playing them to their strengths.

Some times its good to bring back old players in management roles. The club have nothing to lose.

I think there's a chance he'll be gone before it. We already know the outcome of that game if he stays, throw a new manager in and you've got a chaos factor. Anything could happen.

Well they gave him Jorginho, Higuain, Kepa and Kovacic, not to mention Pulisic coming in the summer also. He can't say he hasn't been backed or had the players he wanted.

Still I think they should have made a commitment for two seasons before firing him, his football takes time to bed in to a team. In saying that however, it's hard to look past the fact he's a bad manager and probably shouldn't have been appointed in the first place.

Yeah it’s bollox. They didn’t sit down and think how are we going to hire pep in 2 years time? Oh I know let’s hire a DoF that worked with him first.

It’s more likely that the DoF recommended Pep when they started talking about replacing the coach

These clubs know this before they hire these managers. The most important thing to them is the process.

It's not just a dig at the fans, it's the entire club. As much as people hate the word, Chelsea saw Napoli and wanted a bit of "Sarriball". That's the truth whether we like it or not. It's a totally different way to how they have played since Abromovich got to England. There are widespread reports he's been looking incorporate that style for over a decade. The problem is the club have no patience to go through the pain of changing to that style.
The comparison with Mourinho is also lazy. Mourinho ho had been at United for two season prior to this one. Most importantly, style of football is not a consideration when bringing in Mourinho. You bring Mourinho to immediately be competitive. If he's not, there's no need to keep him. He's not working towards anything. It's a very different case with Chelsea. The man has never won anything.
