Ole is to be commended for the job he has done to date. He has made the best of what is at his disposal. He has correctly decided that Fellaini is not United material as a player and shipped him off permanently. He has United playing well again and in a manner which is exciting. His run is too long to be written off as a new manager bounce. The two remaining doubts are is he a winner (managerially) and how good is his eye for a player (new signings).

Time to end this charade. I have just as much chance of getting this job as anyone else on the planet that isn't called Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Make the announcement this week, start planning for a big summer and upcoming season

Changing my vote to Ole. Digging a point out of that was an achievement. Almost winning it was amazing.

The mentality has always been right, that's the main point. For qualities and quantities, We can improve in the summer.
Voted for Ole and won't change it.

Currently I still suspect that someone like Poch would prove to be the better manager long term.

However, assuming we don't fall to pieces between now and the end of the season it would be silly to remove Solskjaer when he has so much momentum behind him.

Leave him be for now but if nothing has changed by the end of the season, give him the job.

Didnt vote, still waiting for DOF decision, i personally dont care about short term. Regarding Ole, nobody is perfect, have a issue or two, one of those two is a context behind.

Bollocking about fluently.
There are a lot of great candidates and I believe most of them would be a huge step up from our previous one - but continuity is something of a tradition in this club (which is why I became enchanted by it in the first place). Solskjær holds pretty much every asset in that regard. He used to be a loyal servant who came in as a supersub to save the day - he even helped save *that* day and did it masterly and so frequently throughout his entire playing carreer that I've even forgotten some of those moments - and now he's doing the same only in a managerial position.

Coming on as a sub - as an unknown from nowhere - and saving the day. First time against a former faliure of his even - which is just poetic imo.

Also he's as passionate about this club and it's traditions as any supporter - loyal to the core - and the person I believe most of us would *want* to see succeed as well due to him being an old favourite so...

"Theatre of Dreams" and all that - end of. Ole's worked hard to deserve a shot at realizing his dreams and to be honest he's earnt his chance too - and a club like Manchester United and it's supporters should not be afraid to dream big by investing their faith into the one candidate they're the most passionate about.

To me the reward of witnessing Solskjær and his team succeed outweights any risks associated with him - risks even that seems to be shrinking by every impressive performance they put in. You could ofcourse nitpick every minute of every game and find flaws here and there - but that's always the case no matter what, where, who or when. If you look at the greater picture however and what they've achieved these last two months...

"Inspired" is the only word I can think of - and anything inspired should be nurtured not shut down.

1. Play attacking football - check
2. Bounce back from defeat - check
3. Sound Tactical knowledge against better and inferior teams - check
4. Youth - check
5. Win trophies -
6. Bring in great players -

5 and 6 unknown but i feel he should be given at least 2 season starting next season.
A major question mark would be no. 6, is he the Wenger type of sticking to boys or is he the type of Mourinho who likes to spunk money when he got the power.

What has happened in the last 2 months has proved, strike while the Iron is hot.

If you're Pochetino now, you would be massively regretting not taking the opportunity to take the United role if it was made available in December to him and he wanted it. Irrespective of whether you're halfway through the season, you take the risk that if somebody comes in and does the job that ole is doing, you'll never get that chance again.

Barring a monumental and highly unlikely collapse,Ole is getting the job and rightly so but can understand leaving the announcement/decision until the end of the season, maybe its keeping him,the coaching staff and players on their toes and focusing minds.

Achievements and results aside, this is the best chance for him with SAF and a whole team backing him. Lets see how far he can take us.

#6 won’t concern me as much if we get a good DOF. Plus, the MUFC brand, Ed$$, plus Ole playing attacking football will mean we should be able to attract the best talent out there.

As the Caf knows, I'm Team Poch but can't see Ole not getting it.

Ole is doing a fantastic job. If Poch comes in, we would likely lose the whole coaching staff again. The coaching staff which at the moment is itself operating as a magical management team. One additional point is Ole already knows our youngsters from his time as a coach at the club. The fit cannot be any more perfect, especially given the results. This is no longer up for debate.

I think that played a big part when he was given the interim gig as well. Getting Pogba going along with Lindgard, Rashford etc.. Surely builiding on that relationship has to be a huge weight in Ole´s favor along with the obvious good results and spirit in the club. I think it´s a nobrainer at this point!

Very true. You have to wonder what conversations have taken place if any with Poch or any other manager for that matter because I can't see Ole not being appointed on a permanent basis.

This surely isn't even in doubt. Popular with players and fans. Playing good football. A master with the media. Club legend. Results to match. There is no reason to not give ole the job.

Why can't Ole be better long term. Poch hasn't won anything and Ole is on a high upward trajectory and has already achieved records with Molde.

Ole can only get better. Poch might just be another Moyes! Has done well, but found his bar.

Poch style of football is x100 times better than Moyes though.

But I am 100% behind Ole, he should be our long term manager.

Changed from Poch to Ole after the Spurs game, but it was mostly emotions in favour of Ole more than if he was actually suited for the job. It's now at the point where I'd be genuinely gutted if the board went for anyone else. He ticks all the boxes.

36% still wants Poch? No way. This poll is meaningless now.
I am assuming/hoping there are quite a few people like me, who are not switching from Poch to Ole fearing jinx :nervous:. I am personally craving to switch since Spurs game but avoiding it saying to self, "let's wait one more game." Also, might also be case of some people not arsed to come in and switch vote, even if they are on Ole bandwagon now.

There would be a revolt at this stage if he doesn’t get it, I would certainly be up in the arms. Pochettino can forget it.

I am still of the view of lets just wait until end of the season. We have all the time in the world to decide.

It is all agreed behind closed doors already and he would have been informed, it’s public only that will be kept at bay here until the end of the season before it’s confirmed officially, imo. There’s nothing left to decide here.

Close this thread. At this point, OT will lynch Woodward if he doesn't appoint Ole even if we lose all our remaining games. It's done and dusted.
