Bar the mistake for the goal, he head and shoulders our best player today what some of you are watching people. Without him we have no midfield.
He's been superb. Apart from the unlucky slip on the turf- his build up play and passing helped us a lot.

that is literally the point of "playing out from the back"

you pass the ball to players on your team, from out of the back. This is the EPL nobody has 10 seconds on the ball. 100 percent on Fred.
Exactly. He called for it then cant control it.

They are refreshing a commentatory stream. Clearly not watching the game. His touch is inconsistent but other than that we woudn't be able to get the ball past our half without him.
Yes mate, thats EXACTLY what I'm doing
His first touch is abysmal. On a few occasions so far today he's invited unnecessary pressure due to a bad touch

Our players look too spaced apart. Hard to string passes together.
That always happens. Good teams play as a team and most importantly support the man with the ball. When we pass to someone they always look isolated.

It cannot be that difficult to support the man with the ball.
All you have to do is move instead of just standing there watching them loose the ball.

Drop Dalot into RB, young off for Martial right fecking now.

Ole I love you but we can’t play 3 at the back with the fullbacks and centre backs we have. We just need to set up a familiar back 4 in a familiar formation for them at the moment.

    Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
Young plays him onside then appeals for offside. That goal was a comedy of errors. Far too many Wolves players pressing up for De Gea to risk that pass to Fred who was on his own facing his own goal. De. Gea almost repeated the error with a pass to Young. We should be able to play our way out from the back but on tonight's showing so far, De Gea might be better off throwing the ball further up and wide.
How often have we seen De Gea make these poor clearences?

PSG away and Chelsea at home in his first season.

That's the only big games he's scored in since he's been here.

If he was content being a squad player it'd be fine, he's good against the fodder sides. But we won't be winning the big trophies with him as our main striker.

I like him, he just misses too many chances.
    This again.

Wolves look a much better coached team than ours. Comfortable on the ball and without it, crisp passing, intelligent movement, much more cohesive and forward minded. Our team as usual looks slow, sloppy, ponderous and lethargic.
Basically. For the money it’s cost to assemble our team, we look pathetically average.

Exactly, some people let one mistake and few sloppy touches cloud their judgement. Who is showing up for the ball besides him?

This was predictable before the game. This squad is massively lacking in quality. There's plenty of Wolves players would walk into our starting line up tonight.

Lingard has returned to his true level of not very good this season.

We have to start taking our chances! We have been struggling to put teams away and allow them to gain confidence. Take your chances and it really kills their spirit

everyone gets injured but one player I would not mind being injured, young

dont need either, we need quality.
Our midfield is not existent defensively. I quite happily take either of them right now. feck i
They were both shit last game. Probably saving them for Barca
most likely but some presence in our midfield and someone who could defend would be good, literally got a couple of players running round like headless chickens unfortunately.

Shame Pogba's so easily unsettled. If he was in the game at all we'd be coasting this one. Annoying not to be winning but I'm not worried at all when we're creating good chances. Our attackers aren't clinical but they're pretty reliable on the whole.

Oh yeah, let's shop for a striker too.
True. Ed probably won’t be capable of getting the major needs sorted this summer, don’t need to add one of my own personal preferences to his work load. I can wait til next summer for that!

De Gea's fault for thinking a 50m midfielder could control a ball with 10yards of space!
    Shocking give away goal.

Was it Perreira who did similar a few games back?

Great goal from McTom though. Love those goals you just don't expect

There were times when Fred had the ball and it looked like he was the only midfielder in the team at the end and we had like 4-5 forwards.

This seems to be happening more and more lately.

We seem to abandon/bypass the midfield.

And this, ladies and gents, is exemplifying why we will never get anywhere near a title until we've upgraded the likes of Fred and Young to actual good, solid players.

My default memory of Luke Shaw is him giving the ball away on the left, then jogging back after it.
Mine is him trotting towards fred on the edge of the box to collect the ball when he could just simply make an overlap in order to receive the ball. Why he did that I will never know but its normal with these set of players. If it's not him then its young hoofing the ball to lukaku who has given the signal for him to do it. Mind you lukaku knows he can't control the ball very well but still insists on receiving the ball in the midst of 5 opposition players. Its beautiful stuff if you support another team.

Excuses? Come again. Are you mad?

So this team is not completely reliant on Pogba?

Where are the rest of the team?
Excuses that we need to buy players on his level. What if we buy them and he still isn't arsed.

Nice goal. We need to be more aggressive and not worry about what they have. Their goal was naive/stupid..we can call it what we want. Just put a long ball up field and win it. Don't take chances. No real excuse for such a poor touch but completely avoidable.

We were fortunate in that both Watford and Wolves allowed us to play back-to-back games vs. two teams, both of which operate in a similar manner to Barça in terms of approach and style. Aside from small periods of improved tempo and pressure, we've looked decidedly short of ideas, bereft of runs off-the-ball, lacking in any kind of mental strength when the game takes a situational turn.

I know that not having Martial and Rashford is a factor, however, it doesn't explain the inexplicable drop of form mid-way through a half of football.

we're back to the 'oh we need to take our chances' malarkey that's been the case for years. so frustrating. I hate wolves.

Lingard been totally invisible and useless. Way too often he does this to be a regular in our front three.
He is nowhere near good enough to be a starter. In fact, he is just about scraping it to be a squad player. Out of his depth at this club if truth be told.

Jonny, Doherty, Moutinho, Neves, Jimenez, Jota. All similar or better than their United counterparts. That says more about the quality of our team more than it says about Wolves'.
