I thought Pogba was dreadful and then right at the end he makes a fantastic pass and we almost score.

Sums up Pogba, even when he's shite he's still our best player.

Yet somehow solskjaer has deluded the media and fan base that we are playing attacking football. We are a counter attacking team with nothing else to offer
The situation we find ourselves in has nothing to do with Ole, he set us up perfectly for this encounter.

We were completely dominating the game prior to the equalizer, playing fast attacking football and pressing high up the pitch. We could and should have been 3 up. Then Fred gets caught in possession and Wolves capitalize with what was their first real attack. We went back into our shell after that. That's all on the players, there is a mental fragility about them that crops up far to often for my liking.

Why don't we try playing Martial up top? Surely he's a better bet to put away any chances we create?

And Young stop punting the bloody ball to Lukaku, he can't win the headers anyway. What's the point? It's common sense isn't it? He does it over and over and it's not working, just stop!

He's been superb. Apart from the unlucky slip on the turf- his build up play and passing helped us a lot.
I genuinely think those saying he was terrible this half watch football without actually putting any effort to understand the game.

Of course people will some reservations, but he has done enough to be given a shot, especially in the absence of outstanding alternatives.
but there were alternatives: Allegri at Juve comes to mind (and on tonight's showing and the cup game tWolves' guy - he will end up at barca or real)

Two observations. Young should be nowhere near this club never mind captain of the 1st team. We should be all over at least 2 players from Wolves. They've 4/5 players ready to step up and look like they actually give a shit.

De Gea and Shaw feck the rest off. You cant blame Pogba wanting to leave. We will need 9-10 players in to make this a good team. Who trains the passing. Wanderers pass the ball so much better.
Pogba can feck off to Madrid. Playing half arsed and strolling around the field. Let him live his dream in Madrid and we shall rebuild in the summer with players really want to play for Man Utd.

Going to need someone to step up and finish a chance. Might be the type of game for Mata to float around and pop up in space to latch onto an errant ball

Basically. He’s still practically the only one who looks capable of creating a moment of magic. If only we had a few more creative sparks in the team, it’s desperate.

Bar the mistake for the goal, he head and shoulders our best player today what some of you are watching people. Without him we have no midfield.
I'm not one of those banging on wildly...but too many of his passes leave extremely low margin for error...direct low % passes into congested areas when there was a more simple option on. And when he's blasting them into Lukaku...in a game when we have one less person in forward positions due to the 3 at the back....then they are low % passes that he shouldn't be playing.

Playing through the lines for someone running off the shoulder...fine, but not passes where someone needs the touch of God to keep the move going.

He also looks very shoddy under pressure in general.

Bloody hell, what to make of that. Missed chances, shit defending, bad mistake from Fred who started well but now looks fecked, Pogba almost totally anonymous. Ashley Young.

    McT looked good?

Our midfield is as bad as i can remember. There has almost always been at least one player with quality in there. Robson, Ince, Keane, Scholes, Carrick.

Pogba is up there on a good day but he has so many off days unfortunately. We need at the very least two top quality cm's in the summer.
Pogba is a luxury player, he's closer to Ozil than he is to Robson. All the talent in the world, but extremely streaky.

As was the case the last time too many pussies in this side worried about getting hurt, pulling out of every 50/50 which is then enabling Wolves to play round us. Take a couple for the side, win some free kicks and they'll be less psychical

We started off so well, and it's a shame we didn't re-enforce that dominance with a second goal. That Lingard chance was a huge moment. Completely shat ourselves after conceding, which is a common issue with the team I feel. Need to wake up in order to get back into this game. And quick.

De gea has 0 blame for that pass. That is the future way we intend to play. We should encourage our goalie playing out from the back.

Huh? Why? Fred literally is an empty field. You expect a player at this level to control a simple pass.
I said it was his mistake.. but still no need for DDG to put it into what is quite a dangerous area

Wolves look a much better coached team than ours. Comfortable on the ball and without it, crisp passing, intelligent movement, much more cohesive and forward minded. Our team as usual looks slow, sloppy, ponderous and lethargic.
I worry that by avoiding Poch, we've lost yet another chance to become more like this ourselves.

Excuses that we need to buy players on his level. What if we buy them and he still isn't arsed.
    Okay, you're missing my point.

If we recruit more players on Pogba's level, then when his form naturally dips during the season, we will still be able to get results as it won't be completely on Pogba's shoulders anymore.

The rest of our team is a joke. No denying it.

The phrase “flatter to deceive” could almost be invented for Lingard. He’s awful 90% of the time, then does something amazing and all is forgiven. I’m not sure we can or should be carrying that kind of player.

People who give any blame to Dave for goal should pay attention how every even decent club start their attack. Gk pass it to dmc. City and Barca do that 50 times in a game. With Fernandinho and Busquets. It is foofball basic thing. Fred fecked it up. Move on.

Agreed. Sorry. But he shouldn't have this long dips in form imo.

This isn't solving Pogba's problem. It's just covering it.

Then how are we suppose to play from the back if we can't even pass the ball to a player with plenty of space around him?

not on this showing he isn't. he isn't better than McTominay tonight
Navas hasn't done anything special tonight, and McTominay has been par for the course outside his goal. If anything both Fred and McTominay have looked poor since the momentum switched to Wolves after the cheaply conceded goal. Pogba is an easy target though, he is much better than this showing I agree with that.

Basically. For the money it’s cost to assemble our team, we look pathetically average.
I dunno if its coaching so much but it's also definitely the type of midfielders you have. Pogba is quality obviously but hes never really been one to dominate games with and without the ball. Hes always been a moments player. So we have McTominay and Fred against Neves and Joao Moutinho for controlling the game in midfield, and you have to say they are miles better at that. Bit of everything but it's something weve struggled with for ages. Our midfield is shite at controlling games/dictating tempo. Matic isnt really that type, Herrera isnt, pogba isnt. They are capable but its not the natural game for any of them like it was for Carrick, Scholes, Pirlo, Xavi, xabi Alonso, hell even to a much lesser standard people like Xhaka at Arsenal.

We dont have a deeper playmaker.

We need to go to 4 at the back.

Free up an extra body up the pitch

Return Shaw to the FB role that he is more comfortable in. Playing WB with different instructions and a different setup in front of him is definitely going to affect his pretty much MOTM rhythm from the last few games.
