Never a better time to get a british core in the team; the current crop coming through look quality
I agree that the squad as a whole needs more, but it seems like the targeted players will be slotting straight into the first team. It would be dangerous to try to fit more than that in one go I think. Most important thing is improving the quality of the first team, and then improve the squad players from there. We need more than 5 imo especially if we ship out 6 unless he believes in Mason, Chong etc.
Surely nobody falls for it though. He does this every summer. He's flexing to try and get the fans on his and the Glazers side.
City fullbacks doesn't cross. Apart from Mendy who doesn't play. In the top teams it's only Liverpool that's dependant on fullbacks end product in attack. As Liverpool and City and all the big boys in Europe find and develop fullbacks who can play in attack and put a mean cross in, you mean to tell me we're going to go the opposite way and throw out two defensive fullbacks?
I think we all fall for it even though we know better.Surely nobody falls for it though. He does this every summer.
You are already setting yourself up for dissapointment. May? Never! Maybe one by July at best.If we can agree to sign just not register players before window I hope they are already basically done..not all of course but maybe one or two. Unless we have to wait until they know if we are top 4 or not before wanting to join us.
My inner muppet has been burned too many times in transfer windows so I hope we see some quick movement come end of May.
Just curious as to why the likes of Bayern and Real have already announced future signings. Is it just that they are simply better run than us!?You are already setting yourself up for dissapointment. May? Never! Maybe one by July at best.
Might help season ticket renewals. Which is what this is probably intended forShout from the rooftop Eddy, it's going to help you gain leverage in negotiations.
I can guarantee there are tons of fans out there with less understanding of Ed and the Glazers who have brought their kleenex out of their cabins and pulled their shorts down already. Meanwhile we who are familiar with this charade have gotten sick of it long ago. Although these recent briefings have been outright idiotic. You have to be a very special creature to name your targets out in public like this. And then on top of that boast about how much money there is available.Surely nobody falls for it though. He does this every summer.

Ole in presser saying agents have been in contact already about their clients wanting to join us. Obviously clubs have final say but that to me is clear players want to sign so we should have no excuse not to get some of them if Ole feels the same.
Of course so you'd think a struggling team like ours will be working even harder now to obtain targets and have fees agreed so new players join us at beginning of our pre season. Maybe we look at lesser players but that should still give us a shit load of options better than half our current squad.Just look at who and where they play.
Guaranteed UCL football season after season, access to the best players in the league etc.
haven't we basically already been doing that since Fergie left.I don't believe the leak for a second. Woodward has used the press to lie to fans plenty of times before.
If we don't get the players this summer, we'd be in serious danger of facing 5 years in Arsenal land, as our few good players like Pogba and De Gea run down their contracts with no prospect of us extracting any value out of them.
Are things that bad there? All I heard of late was how people had to get on a waiting list now to become season ticket holders years later.Might help season ticket renewals. Which is what this is probably intended for
And you wouldn't have to go to Prague to do it! Chorley will do!
We spend ~150m most summers I feel like. Last summer we only spent like 80m or so (but as Mourinho put it in January, Sanchez was effectively a planned summer signing on those massive wages just pulled to January) so it's basically the same thing. The thing we havent been doing is the big clear out of the mediocrity eating up wages for no reason or just being ruthless and cutting when we know we have to replace.I don't believe the leak for a second. Woodward has used the press to lie to fans plenty of times before.

How do we get in players 4 days into April? We should be getting players in now to boost the club’s morale. Instead there’s more talk about people leaving than solid reports of any incoming ones. Surely there’s a whole load of players who could improve the squad...
Sancho yes, but not yet, needs more time IMO, the rest I don't rate, especially any of the midfielders, where we've produced in recent times has been the forward line without question.I'm a fan of the British core stuff if it's about the current 18 year olds like Sancho and Hudson Odoi. It's a really talented generation. Probably the only time I'll say that tbh.
Thats the only thing that makes sense to me, why talk about specific targets unless they are pretty much signed?I have a feeling we already have deals in place for some of the players mentioned.
I dont think man utd fans will like to hear this but there is lot man utd can learn from liverpool because man utd us facing the sane problem klopp was facing. Klopp was also hired mid season like ole. Had lot of dead wood left from previous three managers. Club was paying too much to the average players.True that bedding in so many new players at once may create problems, but any new player changing clubs needs time to adjust so doing a wholesale kind of squad renewal might create problems right away, it does bear fruit down the road when those players have adjusted. Also, that bolded is relevant. Is it better to ship the deadwood out en masse or spread it out over 2-3 transfer windows?
Personally i would prefer the former, a cataclysmic summer where most, if not all the sub par wage thieves are shipped off and we bring in a lot of fresh faces.
I don't always think Ed thinks these things through.Thats the only thing that makes sense to me, why talk about specific targets unless they are pretty much signed?
This transfer window is make or break for Woodward, there are zero excuses for failure.
You'd think so but I have 0 faith in Woodward and co.Thats the only thing that makes sense to me, why talk about specific targets unless they are pretty much signed?

Can he really be that stupid? You dont go screaming to the world if you are after someone, thats just silly and 7 year old child would even know it.I don't always think Ed thinks these things through.
