Imagine the salty Liverpool fans if we lose like 3/4 nil in the league game and barely press, but then get through in the away leg and give everything.

No chance of that happening though, especially after last night's result.

However, City now needs to play their best team in the return leg, and also needs to play their best team in the league against Spurs, since yesterday showed that it isn't always all that with a few key players rested.
The point I'm trying to make is the team Spurs play in the PL fixture will be much weaker than the the CL second leg fixture.
So Pep can make changes in the PL game and have a better chance against a weaker spurs team. Obviously , being a Liverpool fan, you don't want that as you would rather Spurs play their strongest 11 in the PL fixture.

You're going to lose both ties regardless, the UCL tie will be thrashing. No one relies on Spurs for anything, even Spurs fans. The fact you're calling it perfection just sums up you're clubs' mentality.

Can you really rely on Liverpool for anything? Master chokers and have not won a league title in 30 years?

And you've won 2 leagues in 40 years in a far inferior league. You'd probably be relegated in the EPL. We've won the UCL in our "master choker" years how many have you won in 112 years remind me?

If we're Master Chokers what are you ??

I could take that from a United fan.

You support Liverpool. The only thing you can be relied upon to do in recent times is to lose in a final or slip up late in the title race. You're a far bigger club than us with far more resources yet you've only recently started to push ahead of us having spent hundreds of millions, congratulations.

My personal hatred of Liverpool sums up my clubs mentality? Not really, but whatever floats your boat buddy.

Almost even better .. put in a heroic CL performance and then barely even try in the very next game.
You might be annihilated in the league game but it won't be because you won't to, simply because you can't do anything about it. I doubt Pochettino won't try to win that game given your precarious league position.

I don't expect anything from you by the way. Fully expect you to comfortably lose the league game, but hopefully you'll be in the top 4 at the end of the season - that means at least one of Chelsea or United will miss out.

Probably wouldn't though, would they? We have embarrassing levels of shite in the bottom half of the PL. Sporting would piss all over them, despite the fact they have a fraction as much to spend.

Also, he wasn't the one making big statements about other clubs being unreliable.

We were the better side at Anfield, on our day we can give anybody a game, just requires everyone being fit because our backup options are dirt.

Right but the convo was never about Sporting now was it? trust me I know we choke I see it all the time but I don't pretend otherwise like Liverpool fans who still think they are a "giant club" no buddy your team has fallen off for years. Also your team has Million to spend on players Sporting has peanuts. Very big difference.

Liverpool have finished in the mid table more often then the top 2 places in the league in the last 15 years. One person can very well argue for a few years you were a fecking mid-table club:lol: EVERY year you lot think you will win the title and hilariously let it SLIP:lol: Now get that small time club shet out of here. Talk to me when you pass United.

Just seen the highlights from the Liverpool game.

That Marega guy seems to get in some really dangerous positions/have excellent movement off the ball, but my god his first touch makes Lukaku look like Messi.

Exactly my point. A fair statement would be if I called Benfica chokers for losing 2 Europa league finals in a row when they have dominated the league the past few years while we have watched. My point was Liverpool in the last 10 years have shared league positions with Everton.

Also I could argue the big 3 in Portugal would not be relegated in the EPL.

I still try to struggle to understand how he is there starting striker when they used to have so many WC strikers in the past.

You don't have to argue it, they just wouldn't. Benfica, Sporting and Porto are streets ahead of anybody in the bottom half of the PL.

I don't get how anybody could watch the likes of Burnley, Newcastle or Brighton play and honestly think they're better teams than a side like Porto. There's a reason they're in a CL quarter final. You would have to genuinely think the PL is the centre of the universe to think that's the case.

I love how regardless of what club you support, regardless of what country you're from .. one thing that unites football fans is a dislike for Liverpool and their fans! Seems they manage to irritate absolutely everybody.

I didn't stutter.

They're an excellent defensive team. They don't concede many goals.

If you think they can be "easily got at" on the counter then you have another thing coming.
They conceded 31 goals in 31 games in La Liga. That's a decent record but not an excellent one. Getafe and Valencia both conceded fewer goals.

Liverpool are an excellent defensive team. Barcelona are merely a good one.

Got a feeling Spurs will go through, City to win their home game 2-1...then beat them against in the League.

It's because of how daft some of them are. They still think there shet don't stink and that there this European superpower when they...aren't.

You made a great point when you said that with far less money Spurs made great strides to grow as a club and they even surpassed Liverpool for a few years until Liverpool started spending crazy money like 75M for a center back. Spurs put themselves in a position to only get bigger and better and they took another step in that by building a 5 star Stadium.

Teams I despise: Benfica and Liverpool always been that way always will be. Right after is Porto .

It will be interesting how Juve deal with the De Jong problem. According to the Italian press, Mandzukic will defend him when Juve don't have the ball. The French way to deal with Frenkie, it doesn't work. If they'd try the German way, we'd end up with Matuidi and Pjanic covering him. This however creates space elsewhere, and then with Bentancur covering up Ronaldo's lack of work, the midfield is in danger of being overrun. So then one could argue, let Ajax press, skip the midfield and launch Ronaldo and the attackers to punish Ajax on the counter attack, they will always make a few punishable mistakes especially with Veltman and Tagliafico against this opposision. But Juve's defense is a bit weaker than usual and Ronaldo has less speed now. My guess is they will go somewhere in between and try to win the battle through the left with slow Schone, attacking Vd Beek and Veltman not the best defender to have on Ronaldo, and just lock the right field except for launching Bernardeschi vs Tagliafico.

Exactly. Liverpool always mocked clubs for spending whilst sticking it to clubs like Everton despite the fact they (Liverpool) spent so much more to basically win the same stuff (Norwich cup, Asia premier league, best atmosphere cups etc;) now they are claiming they are some super power after spending insane money. Won nothing in over a decade and spend all that money to try and buy a trophy.

Best to be like Spurs then and lose way before you get to a final or come 3rd in a 2 horse race. We don't have far more resources than you, Spurs have just built a billion pound stadium , really sounds like you're really lacking resources poor old Spurs. If you'd spent money on improving your squad with the great base you already had, maybe you'd of achieved something except for "we finished ahead of Liverpool for 8 out of 9 seasons". Don't forget in recent history we almost went into Administration not to mention with Hicks and Gillette in charge we were barely spending what we sold.

Right but the convo was never about Sporting now was it? trust me I know we choke I see it all the time but I don't pretend otherwise like Liverpool fans who still think they are a "giant club" no buddy your team has fallen off for years. No the conversation was about Spurs but then you made it about Liverpool with your snide comment. Liverpool are still a giant club , being one of the top 10 clubs in the world is not a giant club? God knows how low your club is then.

Not peanuts compared to the other big 3 is it? You're spending is comparative to them but they've won the league between themselves for the past 40 years. Not to mention both of the other big 3 have won European Cups, not sure why you guys are even mentioned with them to be honest it's been a big 2 for 40 years not big 3.

Every club has it's ups and downs we came 8th couple of times in the past 30 years if you want to call us a mid-table club sure . We still won a UCL in those 15 years we were average, maybe you'll win one in the next 112 years. Talk to me when you pass Porto or Benfica.

Coming from the fan of a club that’s won ONE Milk Cup on penalties against the mighty Cardiff City since 2012 despite throwing money around like no one’s business.

And it’s ‘your club’s mentality’, not ‘you’re’.

@Can23

When did I say that? We've not been successful in crunch situations, you won't find me arguing against it. You've just been even more disappointing because you get closer and still feck it up, hence why a Liverpool fan trying to chat shit about other clubs been unreliable is funny.

You don't have more resources than us? Feck off

You have a far bigger fanbase worldwide and thus significantly more revenue than us, even with our new stadium that will likely be the case. We've just built a new stadium as an attempt to close the gap between us and the elite clubs in the next decade or so, it's an investment in to the future. We couldn't really afford to stay in White Hart Lane and expect to challenge the top sides revenue wise, it was simply too small. No way could we spend the way you do on wages/transfers without it being completely unsustainable.

Yeah, you nearly went in to administration, but you didn't and since then have spent plenty of money on wages & transfers. Your wage bill completely outstrips ours for a reason. As a club you shouldn't be competing with us at all, you've been far bigger disappointments than we have given where the two clubs are at. I can accept the fact that we've been a bit of a let down in certain situations, but feck me you've managed to mess up every possible chance of a trophy in recent years, the only time you didn't was when you got Cardiff in a final .. and even then it went to penalties.

You're having a great season where you're still yet to win anything and already you've decided it's time to act big and talk about the mentalities of other clubs, when your own club has been a tremendous fecking let down for the last decade or so.

Your knowledge of the league is minimal so I'll give you a pass. "your spending is comparative" umm no Porto and Benfica have more money and resources than we do. "both of them have won European cups" umm so have we 1964 buddy. Not the CL but the "europa league". So like I said you know feck all about the Portuguese league and thats not even to mention that it is one of the most corrupt leagues right after the greek league. But you would not know that would you? Also we don't have a chance to win the CL just as any other club that is not a part of the top 4 leagues in Europe. Sporting have one of the best youth academies in the world and have produced world class players for decades. Nonetheless this was never about Sporting but rather about you and Spurs.

Liverpool are a big club historically yes.. but all your best players couldn't wait to leave because they knew they would win feck all with them. It's the reality of Liverpool. You cant call yourself a top dog when you have not won a league title in 30 years and in a lot of those 30 years you were battling it out for 8th place...I would argue City have a better chance of getting to 20 league titles before you do.

Guess you have minimal knowledge of the EPL then . I'm well aware of your Cup winners Cup win 50 years ago, but the "Big 2" have won 2 European Cups each, a much much bigger achievement.

It was about Spurs never about us you started it with a snide comment and then started raging when i called your club out.

Tough guy. Calling out clubs in Portugal and all that.

He's right. If Spurs can't be relied on, then Liverpool have been pretty useless in recent memory given their supposed and imaginary 'top club' status as well. How reliable is Livepool over the last 30 years? That could change to an extent now (not with just a trophy here and there though).

Sporting play in a smaller and have tiny resources. Don't see how they're even relevant to the discussion.
