What I've learned from the Hazard to Madrid saga is that Madrid don't have the money to pay for him, let alone Pogba, so this is just B.S. to fill the pages.

b.t.w. is any of the players targeted or linked can deliver a good corner and set pieces in general, our corners look so bad...

I really don't think Sancho is for sale this summer. I don't think Rice is the solution to our problems either. I know we want to buy young players who can develop, but we are not in such a position where we have 5-6 top players who can carry these talents while they learn their trade.

We need ready made replacements first who can improve us right from the word go for the next 3-5 years. I'm not saying we should sign 30 year olds, but we should be looking for players in the 23-27 age range, not the 18-22 area. The possible exception to that rule would be De Ligt because he plays with a maturity well beyond his years.

If we get the right players and consolidate our status as challengers again in the next 2 years, then we should definitely be buying younger players where possible at that stage, but we absolutely must make sure we continue to challenge and make it into the CL if we want to keep attracting the best talent. I fear buying too many kids with potential will cause us short term problems we can ill afford.

Where did you get the idea that Sancho and Neves could be purchased for those prices
Neves is hard to say. Not a superstar but a good player with lots of potential. Maybe he'd cost upwards of 35+ but it's hard to tell these days.

Sane cost 52M so with inflation you're right, Sancho would probably cost 60M

Neves is the star player in a very ambitious Wolves team/project. He will cost well north of £50m

Also if Ole unfortunately doesn't work out, the next manager would have to be someone who can develop youngster. It reduces the options available. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Having a manager that developes/improve players, be it youngsters or older players should be the first criteria for any club (excluding PSG and City).
Course it should, but it has been with us recently. Think the club/fans are going to need to be very patient with Ole depending who we buy.

As long as we there are signs of a long term plan in how we operate in the transfermarket, and that we try to win games by other means than sitting low and counter attacking, and players are showing some improvement in their abilities/style of play that previously have been problems for them(Smalling - on the ball, Rashford - decisions, passing, Martial - off the ball movement etc) then we should be very happy.

As far as improving players, PSG and City have done a pretty good job. Beside Guardiola, most of their picks have been quite progressive and not considered of the highest echelon.

Reports are we're set to sign Alderweireld for 25M this summer.

Add Sancho for 45M, Neves for another 25 and we're off to a very good start.

And messi for 50p.

Edit: and a bag of pick n mix. Needn’t forget the pick n mix.

I think if we manage to get Saul and Bruno, we'll be in a great position to compete for top 2 next season.

PSG and City do not need to rely on improving their current players to be competitive in the long term, the rest of the clubs in the world do. PSG and City can improve their team through transfers alone. And as long as their players does not detoriate, then they will still be competetive.

I agree that City have improved their players, but it is not as crucial for them, as it is for us.
There is a reason for why City and Liverpool are in a mutch better place than us atm, compared to how it was when Klopp, Mourinho and Guardiola became managers. They might have performed better in the transfermarktet, but they have also had managers that improves players, Mourinho does not seem to do this.

Why can't we just let Mata leave, he has been pretty useless and if just being useless and making up the numbers is all that matters why not give Chong, Gomes or Greenwood his minutes. They wouldn't do any worse and can actually gain experience. I'm fed up of high paid or aging players who bring barely anything to our team getting in the way of our younger players. I have a feeling we will struggle to rid ourselves of Darmian or Rojo this summer also plus we have another season of Ashley Young to look forward to.

And did you see one against the other last week?

How many minutes of PL football has Sancho got? And yet he is wanted by every Muppet
Did you even read your own question? It was "Mate how is rice PL proven?".

There again it is easier to get into the West Ham side than the Chelsea side.
Was just responding to his question asking how Rice is PL proven. I don't want either, yet. Don't think either is good enough at the moment to have an impact on our team.

If I'm not wrong A Bola are very reliable
Hopefully we are unearthing a superstar and not another one who fails to meet the expectation

The club seems reluctant to let players leave on a free.
Regarding high wages and renewals; Our main negotiator is Matt Judge.

So we offer him a year and try to sell him or he stays on good wages and leaves next year on a free anyway. Doesn't make sense to me.

I just get worried that we keep players because the club knows it will not spend much again on actual better players.

25Mil for Neves?:lol::lol::lol:

We’d be wanting 100mil not that he’s worth that, realistically he’d leave 70-80mil.

The club seem to operate on a 5 year delay compared to some other clubs.

Is not A Bola a shit source? Or am I mixing it up with another one?

Would love Fernandes here.

We wouldn't be getting both unless we are selling Pogba which I doubt very much. I think Rodri from Atletico would be the one that improves us most as he's a proper DM and has reportedly told the club he wants to leave and has a reasonable release clause. From what I hear and see of Fernandes (highlights) then if we can find a balance with he and Pogba with a proper DM (like Rodri) I'd think we really should be aiming at the biggest trophies.

I'd be very surprised if he went for anything over £60m. You don't sign players like Neves, who're going to use you as a stepping stone, if you're then going to price them out of their eventual move to a bigger team.

Utd couldn’t manage to sign Fred for less than £50m. If we start negotiating for Neves Utd would probably end up paying twice that.

The Mail so I'm assuming it's nonsense, if it were true though we should immediately cut our losses.
Why? He's one of the most gifted young talents out there. Look at his records and big game goals so far and then go look at his age. He's still so raw.
