Fred and Sanchez were both apparently good enough for City too, look how they turned out.

It's reports in Portugal, I wouldn't get knickers in a twist until it's official as it seems like 99% of rumours out of there are bollocks anyway.
Guarantee if Fred or Sanchez ended up at City they would have done a lot better than they have here.

He's got two less goals with them both playing out wide.

How about we compare previous seasons.

Dybala
2016 - 23
2017 - 19
2018 - 26
2019 - 10

Martial
2016 - 17
2017 - 8
2018 - 11
2019 - 12

Thing is, Dybala is central striker until this year with Ronaldo coming in so we'd be getting him to play centrally and our Lukaku has got 15 so far. Also Dybala if stuck wide would be on the right and Lingard is on about 5 goals per season mostly so all this Dybala vs Martial is barking up the wrong tree.
Dybala is actually a support striker, like a more languid poor man's Griezmann. Also, most of his goals came from set pieces which Ronaldo has already taken over. If he can make the step up to a striker, it will be good for us but if he can't, then poor us.

Yes I know that, point was he's not a wide player and shouldn't be bought as one or compared to in my view.

Hard to say how we would employ him, hopefully centrally whether off a striker or in a very fluid front three. I don't see the target man and support striker approach overhauling the likes of City and Liverpool.

Unpopular opinion, I’d take Dybala in exchange for Martial if it mean Lingard can’t be our starter next season and spend money on LW like Steven Bergwijn. We don’t need proper classic winger, what we need is fullback that provide width and overlapping so Dybala can get into position where he can attempt to shot from his left foot and roam freely centrally like Lingard.

Juve would not do that swap. But i'm all for anything to stop Lingard starting next season.

Mahrez hasn't exactly pulled up trees there - last time he played was almost a month ago in the 1:0 defeat away to Spurs in the Champions League.

PL: Palace (A)
CL: Spurs (H)
PL: Spurs (H)
PL: Man Utd (A)
PL: Burnley (A)
PL: Leicester (H)

Crunch time of the season and he played zero minutes in those and don't forget his penalty miss at Anfield - City ended up drawing that 0:0

Why would we be looking to be pals and help out Madrid by lowering our valuation of Pobga? It's Madrid who are supposed to meet our evaluation of a Pobga if they want him.

Fek newspapers.
I assume that Madrid are hoping they can low ball us and get Pogba/Raiola to force the deal through.

In fairness, they are dealing with Ed Woodward, a man not exactly known for his canny transfer market negotiating skills. They'll probably end up getting him for Bale and some cash.

Kroos and Bale would not be good business.

Both players are well past their best. Isco and Casemiro would be more like it.

Feck Bale, 30 in the summer and will only get more perma-injured. Kroos also has only started 25 league games this season, it just wouldn't work for us right now. That being said Kroos would be the best out of the two. Odriozola would be a good one to get in the deal. Good RB.

150 million euros. I'd rather keep Pogba hostage until the end of his contract than to give him away to Real Madrid in a crappy deal.

I think it will happen. Pogba will push for the move and it will be something like £95m + one of their average players. And then a few days later we will offer this money for Bale.

I'd take Kroos. He's been better than Paul over the last 3 years at least
Its strange how Paul gets excuse after excuse but Toni is written off within a sentence with some people

I'm usually circumspect about signing players who come from such successful teams, both Kroos and Bale have won everything to be won at club level and have an established legacy. What level of motivation do they have left with nothing else to prove?

Has to be nonsense, neither player mentioned fit the young potential Ole seems to want and basically just helping Madrid clear out their ageing / unwanted players. We'd be losing a major asset for players over the hill. Should be 100% cash only for £160 mil minimum or get lost.

It seems to me that Bale will do well here, until He gets injured for the reason of the season.

No, thanks.

Moving would show they want that new challenge though?
Madrid as a team has suffered without Ronaldo, I wouldn't be as quick to put their poor season down to lack of hunger.
We also know what we can get out of Kroos and what we can aim for rather than saying Paul can only be world class playing in a 3, in from the left, with 2 DM behind him or as a 10.
I'd also suspect Kroos would be cheaper than we think. Sort of like 120 plus Kroos would be spun 200m deal on our side and 150m on theirs.
Both of us save face.

Reading these tweets are making my chest hurt. So what players are we going to bring in if everyone's leaving? Are there any solid links to anyone?

Indeed. Despite being 29 I still think Kroos has a couple of years left in him atleast. This signing would be different from Sanchez because he is not a forward who relies on a burst of pace he could lose, nor is Kroos like Basti and recovering from a major injury. We desperately need someone in midfield who can control the game, we don't have someone like that and nor do we seem to be linked with anyone like that. Everyone goes on about Rice or Fernandes or Barella or Ndombele but what we need first and foremost is someone in the Carrick or Scholes mould who can dictate the tempo of the game. 100 million and Kroos for Pogba would be fantastic business.

Woodward is reportedly quite keen on Trippier and we've been linked to Declan Rice. I expect Bale will end up coming this way as part of a deal for Pogba.

I would only expect 3/4 incoming players.

Kroos and Bale are just the kind of signings Ole doesn't want.
Madrid are mad valuing Varane at €100m and Pogba at €140.

I guess performing well in England might be a challenge as well as proving themselves professionally capable at a later age, kind of like Zlatan. I do hope that's the reason they are coming and not for the sake of nailing down one big contract at the end of their careers from a club and a CEO that are clearly desperate.

Kroos Would be fantastic. We've needed a dictator desperately since Carrick left, would be a great to have someone make the right passes at the right time. Would go a long way to improving our football. Not keen on Bale but Kroos is a no brainer for me.

We will get Kroos and he will be outstanding, and then Moyes will say see I told you! You should have given me year 2!
