I think Llorente is really good, but i'm not sure he's ever going to be good enough to start for a top team. I expect him to do well wherever he goes regardless

Ceballos...he really needs the right team and manager. Not the easiest personality, and he has some serious flaws in his game that really need a good manager to correct. He also needs to feel loved and not questioned. Equal chances of him becoming a top player as him flaming out and never realizing his potential

Those who have been criticizing Ole for our recent results should take a look at what's happening at Real. They brought back their hat-trick CL winning manager but their performance has still not improved. Once the slump hits, it's hard for any manager to turn it around mid-season. The actual change will only be visible in the next season.

They have nothing to play for and are in vacation mode with top 4 secured. Next season they will be strong again. Certainly much stronger than 68 points.

Not comparable. Anyone sensible isn't really having a go at Ole. The big concern with United is the lack of structure and lack of faith we have in our board to get it right.

This season for Real will be an anomaly. Ours has become the norm.

So this could have been Bale's last match for madrid and he didn't even get a chance to play for a even a minute. 4 time CL winner treated like a dirt, well not surprising considering the club in questionis real madrid. Well, Bale deserves it for staying beyond required at Madrid when he could have joined us or somewhere 2 seasons ago and created a legacy elsewhere. Having said that zidane should have shown more class and just brought him to feature for atleast some time and get a deserved farewell.

Deserved farewell? He’d have been booed if he came on, Zidane did him a favor by having him stay on the bench

Manchester United are made to look particularly terrible because no other top league has close to the same level of competition. A bad season for Real or Bayern will comfortably see them qualify for the CL for example. The only way to be sure of a CL spot in the PL is to be in the title race.

If we were a Spanish side, we’d finish 3rd or 4th comfortably this season and the drama will be significantly less.

Real Madrid fans could've surely shown some humility for a few seconds and given him a clap, Jese was given a standing ovation when he came on for Betis (I know he's a youth product but look at his career last 3-4 years ffs).

Thought it was poor from Zidane, should've just left him out of the squad like last few rounds.

Funny that, almost like managers can’t work magic over night.

I wonder what all the “sack ole sign Zidane” guys think... grass isn’t always greener :)

Exactly. Bale deserved a better send off. Imagine helping a club win 4 CLs and not getting a proper respect.

Madrid and Barca are like that. 80 % plastic fan support. Have you seen the English speaking Barca forums lately? Every second member claims he won't watch Barca next season because they only won domestic double + CL semis.

In Bale's case, he can't even do much about his situation, he's simply made out of glass. For a pro athlete, getting injured time and time again for lengthy periods must be a nightmare in terms of form and fitness. I stop working out in the gym for 1 1/2 weeks when I'm too busy with other stuff and I already feel like shit when I start again.

Bale has played a huge hand in getting the CL trophies. No gratitude from them at all. I just wonder what they have to do to Bale for him to understand they're bunch of ungrateful bastards who haven't deserved his important goals.

Why Is Benzema still at the club!? 10 years later.. bizarre. Leading the line for the Kings Club.. deary me. Morientes was much better for them and he was like 4th choice in the days of Raul, Ronaldo etc.

Nah, this being very clearly a farewell he would have got a standing ovation. Like he did last year when he played what looked like his last game for us against Celta. Granted, if he ends up staying....well.

He’s not a great manager, Madrid were just stacked with talent and pre-built. Having one of the greatest players in the history of the sport is quite handy too. I thought he’d played a blinder by quitting after the third CL win and I couldn’t believe it when he went back. He won’t last next season.

Bale is a footnote in the history of Real Madrid.. yes he's won trophies but had he stayed at Tottenham or even joined United he would've been remembered as a Legend for his explosive performances. Nobody in Madrid will remember the bloke.. quiet lad from Wales who spents more time injured collecting a paycheck winging it.

He will remember by Madrid fans like Diego Forlan is by us.

Yep. He was never that good of a coach. He was coaching a stacked team that had a foundation set. He will be gone by February.

Our season was over the night we lost to Ajax and there was nothing left to turn around the season for. Zidane was brought back after any chance of winning something was gone. His job was to assess the squad and decide (or give his input) on who needs to be gone and who needs to stay.

Always the same thing here. Some of You lot just don't get it and then you scratch your head and ask why everything sucks at Man United.

Getting everything they deserve and yeah puts a little perspective on the OGS situation for the numpties who want him out already. Will Zidane be able to show his true qualities without a team full of galacticos? I don't think so.

That competitiveness is good for all of us in the long term. A team with our problems, not able to press, technically poor, and also with the clowns in the dressing room that went on holidays in april don't deserve any prize at the end of the season. I think it's better that our flaws are exposed, punished and corrected to reach a higher level, that being able to finish third every year without doing nothing and looking like everything is fine. Now it depends on the club and whoever is making decisions to make it right, but a hard league is always welcome and hopefully it gets even better.

I wonder will people still see Zidane the same way if he fails epically with the rebuild?

To that our answer is Herrera. Thought he would get in the final team squad but Ole decided otherwise. Ever since the PSG rumours, Herrera was benched (not when he was injured of course) and our form suffered. We will never know if we could have won at least 3 more games with him involved. We pour scorn on other teams but are we really better in some aspects?

Are you seriously comparing us to madrid. We even gave valencia a farewell by bringing him on. Herrera was not fully fit for last 2 months and even ole said in press conference that he is not fully fit.

Couldn't he have assessed squad joining in summer? It's not like the players had changed.

I actually think they're in a good position right now. They have a squad that's declining rapidly, but they've also not spent anything of note and whatever they have has been put towards talents that could possibly sort key positions out for years. I'm not totally convinced V.Junior is a worldy of a talent but at 18 he's shown some great signs as well as mentality. Then you have Jovic who I know sod all about but is the one striker everyone seems to think is genuinely a top striker in the making (something that nobody says about anyone these days).

If they have a poor market Zidane will be sacked by Christmas imo.

Should have waited till summer to take his decision. Could have got the Juve job.

Solari didn't get the credit he deserved. He did a pretty good job, got Vinicius to turn their season around for a while and Benzema scoring for fun.

Benzema scored 30 goals in total. 10 of those under Zidane...

Nobody gets benzema to score for fun

I meant he started that streak. He was scoring regularly before Zidane. Once a striker gets confidence then everything starts to go in. That good streak Madrid went through with Solari in charge and Vinicius pulling the strings was the only thing stopping this season from really being a complete disaster.

He was laughing on the bench when Jese scored, along with Bale.

Short answer: not doing good
He's 29 with 2 years left on his contract. If they ship him out on the cheap, I would love to see him play for United.

I like him, I really do, but it's too late. He's the type of midfielder that you love to see control a game, one of the last of their kind.

One thing that worries me is his speed, he's kinda slow and the EPL is not really forgiving with slow players, especially in his position. I mean we won't be fixing anything with him in our midfield, we'd still need an enforcer.
