4 clubs in 2 of the biggest finals in football is no coincidence & when players like this talk about the PL after playing against clubs - it gives me quite some confiidence that we could get some of the up and coming players that may want to come for the best test possible.

Screams Chelsea signing if they are not banned from signing players sadly especially if Madrid have backed off.

If the quoted figures of around £50m are true, then it wouldn't matter that we lose £20m on Lukaku. Straight swap, and much more our type of player. If we could somehow get Jovic for less than Lukaku goes for we'll be laughing.

Barca announced signing De Jong mid-season so transfer window being closed has nothing to do with it. You can sign players anytime, you can only register them in the transfer window.
That transfer was done during the January window.

Be as it may but two clubs can conduct a transfer agreement any time. You can only register players during the window. Utd had announced signing Depay in April, Bayern announced signing Hernandez during March this season.

Transfers can be done at any point. It’s just the official registration.
That's what I'm saying though, isn't it? You can agree a transfer any time, but the actual registration of the player as a club employee, which he becomes upon signing the contract, can only happen during transfer windows. So if Frankfurt and Real and Jovic come to an agreement, they can announce the transfer now, even though it'll only be formalized the day the window opens.
I know they can be done, they just hardly ever are.

This is inaccurate though I can agree to some extent. A good striker make runs, finishes well, link up plays and most importantly, put himself in good positions to be on the receiving end of assists or open spaces by pulling centre backs away. See what Greenwood does in comparison to Rashford and Lingard in the game against Cardiff. That said, if we get Jovic, he will be an instant upgrade to Lukaku n Rashford, the former who overrates himself by constantly shifting wide or dropping deep. This is fundamentally wrong for him cos he lacks technique and allow teams to play further up and overcrowd our already inept midfield.
