I’ve never rated him as much as many United fans due to his timidity and outdated style.

But let’s just agree to disagree.
A lot easier to say after this season. He was world class and there is no debate to be had.

What’s the deal with Asensio? Thought he was highly rated?

It's amazing how Madrid barely have any players worth swapping for a cash + player(s) deal aside from Varane and Casimero, shows how bad their squad is at the moment.

Maybe 100 million plus Casimero seeing as Real Madrid are all about galacticos and don't really value defensive midfielders.
None of their players want to come to United anyway (who can blame them) so I can only see this being a cash deal.

Kronke just built a rather expensive stadium for his US sports team. The suggestions are he's been holding back on Arsenal to cover some Costs.
Wtf. What a scammer.

Didn't he marry into the Waltons Family to get his billions or was he self-made before?

We can do much better than that. Just retain Pogba, sign Fernandez and rabiot for a combined fee of 60 million, we will have better team and depth.

On the overall point I agree. If we sell Pogba then we should sign replacements before.
Sounds like the best option, but I don't think it's that easy. I feel like he was on the crossroad long before the season started and soon after all the gloom and doom started early last season, he had his mind set to leave.
I suppose there was a bit of refreshing thoughts coming in soon after Ole took over, but criticism and fans' boos towards the end rattled him back in his initial exodus path.

I have gone through so many transfer windows now that whenever I see the sentence "Preparing a bid" I think of pouring water into a bucket with a lot of holes in it. You keep trying (reading) and trying (reading about it) and it seems very close but once you take your eyes for a few mins, the bucket (news) is empty again and somehow you find yourself pouring the water again (reading that We're preparing a bid again) even though you know the bucket will never get filled (the transfer will never happen).

Transfer windows have turned me into a masochist and Van Gaal didn't approve that.

Yeah, it's not easy. If he really wants out then we should look for solution that works for all parties. Ideally we should be looking for quality players to replace him. The first trio you posted looked a downgrade on what we have.

He is not staying to be number 2. He will ask for a move to Inter.

If he is off to Inter I would accept a swap with Skriniar. We need a CB. Rashford and Martial will play up top, I dont think we will be replacing him directly with a new player. Too many holes in the squad at the moment to fill.

If he leaves indeed, who do you think we should bring in to replace him with?
We should either sign a #9 who brings more to the team or goal scoring wingers if Rashford will start most games as CF.

Someone like Haller, Pepe would be a good start. If we don't sign replacement then we are in big trouble.

Do you not worry that we might sell Lukaku and Pogba, and not even be able to replace them under the current leadership? Sinking ship indeed

Of course, in his mind, he is a top striker and he won't be happy with #2. Plus, I do think there is merit in the argument that he is not so bad as to be playing second fiddle to Rashford.

If he leaves, I sure hope we can get in a striker as an alternative to Rashford. Or, we could move Martial to the striker position and sign a proper LW. The thought of going into the season with only Rashford as our main striker is unsettling.

I think if Rom leaves we surely will reinvest some of that money on another striker. Or perhaps a real RW and have James/Martial on the left.

As far as I can remember, an official transfer request was never handed in.
You're backtracking now mate, info about players asking for a transfer out of the club rarely ever comes out. However Ronaldo did compare us to slavers when he was pushing for his move to Madrid.

Is he number 2 though?

Cl - Started 2/4 games and came on as a sub in other 2 games

PL - started 10/21 games, came on as a sub in 6 games. He missed 2 games because of injury and 2 games because of compassionate leave.

Fa Cup - Started 3/4 games. Missed the wolves games as he injured his foot against Arsenal.

It's just that he isn't first name on the team sheet like it was under Jose.
