For me of they all leave only DeGea justifies being remembered by the fans. ALthough there has been the fax machine etc, he has been here for a fair portion of his career, mainly during troubled times at the club and progressed to being world class for the vast majority of it.
Lukaku has a decent goals record but has never looked a United player, and Pogba has only fleetingly been impressive....what is it three years he has been at the club, percentage wise from his performances he has barely put in more top top performances than DiMaria did durign his time here who was pilloried and he hasnt shown anymore loyalty either. Apart from selling merchandise, if it is invested properly both players are worth far more in terms of possible transfer fees than they have been as players here. If that £200m is added to whatever we have to spend and the right players are bought |I think we would be far better off than keeping unhappy, average performing players
I agree that Lukaku and Pogba haven't been the consistent quality we need them to be, but I don't think they should be among the first to leave.

Just thinking about a good dm to go for. I've been looking at Ibrahim Sangaré of Toulouse. He's only 21 and he's right up there with the top tackles and interceptions in Europe this season. I found an article from 2 days ago mentioning interest from Everton.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...louse-name-price-ibrahim-sangare-16431043.amp

They suggest a price of £22m which from the small amount I have seen of him looks like it could be an absolute bargain. I feel like these are the type of players we should be going for rather than going after someone like Diop for more than double the price we could have paid for him 1 year earlier.

Any Ligue 1 watchers seen more of Sangaré and think he could be a good option?
@Ekeke is a fan, I believe.

The point is, as average as you say they are they still outperform the players who will remain by a large margin.

Lukaku scores goals despite not looking good enough. Pogba creates and scores, despite not looking like he gives a shit.

These players will move on to clubs who are competing for trophies while we keep hold of the likes of Matic, Mata, Lingard, Young, Jones, Smalling etc and then fans wonder why we don't improve or get any better.

If we fill the squad with players just have the right character or want to play for the shirt then you get a list of players just like the ones who are going to be stuck here, right attitude but shit otherwise.

Outspend them on what? Our ability to spend well under Woodward is horrific. Take away Pogba and Herrera and Leicesters' midfield (Maddison, Tielmans, Ndidi) is miles above ours. Maguire is probably better than any of our CBs bar maybe Lindelof. Peirera and Chilwell better than Young and Shaw. Vardy is a much better goalscorer than Rashford.

This assumption that we can buy our way out of trouble is nonsense. We're struggling to get deals over the line for Championship players ffs.
Which Championship players were those?

Lo Celso + Telemans + Ndombele = 180 m
Pogba 150 m pound

for 30 m you can have a brand new young creative midfield, without counting on our midfielders we have at the club.

According to what reports?

1 tier reliable from Belgian newspapers said we're in very much for him, we have been in talks with his agent for months, We haven't decided on what midfielder we should sign according to them. If we decided we want to sign him, we'll sign him. I think we want to sort out our midfield options first, especially Pogba.

One thing is certain. We need 2 midfielders if Pogba stays and 3 if he leaves.

Herrera, Pogba and Lukaku all potentially leaving in one summer has opened up vast gaps in our already dysfunctional squad. This summer is becoming one of the most important windows post 2013.

The better statement from the club would have been that he would be sold but only if interested clubs met our "record breaking" asking price. Puts the pressure back on real madrid to reach an acceptable deal and pogba in limbo on whether or not they can meet it. Club would seem like we are posturing when he leaves.

Constructive. You don't understand a talent like Pogba probably seeks to win some trophies? I'd love him to stay here but with that team and manager I don't think we will be competing for major trophies in quite some time so it's hard to blame the guy.

I agree to a degree with a lot of what you are saying. The thing is, they havent been good enough, certainly consistently and like it or not, the fact is they have been our two biggest transfer deals, by some margin as well.....so theoretically they are also our two most valuable players. Selling those two brings in £200m, if we were to sell the six players you mentioned we are talking probably £100m.

Its putting a lot of pressure on his shoulders but considering how poor Lukaku has been for a while (I have never rated or wanted him personally anyway) and the fact that it appears he is the second choice striker for Ole.....does he even need replacing when we have Greenwood? That leaves £200m to buy three new midfield players, replacing Fellaini, Herrera and Pogba.

£100m coming in from the other sales and we would need a central midfielder, right winger and centre back at the very least to replace those six.

Personally I would happily sell Pogba, Lukaku, Matic, Young, Jones and release Mata all this summer from the players you mention, along with Sanchez, Rojo, Darmian.

There are several others of course, but I think we need to get rid of the main deadwood and players of value. Even if this was football manager there is too much out and in to do in one window sadly and even what I suggest is barely realistic in one window

Yes, to be honest, I cant blame him for wanting to leave and not even angry he does......More a case of cant understand and am not happy with how awfully inconsistent he has been during his time here.
Tired of the circus and tired of waiting him to come good and so many false dawns.
I think he has all the tools athletically and technically to be a world star footballer not the cartoon like social media whore he is. The thing is, he is 26 now, he wasnt consitently great at Juventus whenever I watche him, he is 26 and the conclusion I am left with is he can be a really good player for a dominant attacking team, all the more reason to sell him, as we just arent in that position as a club and a lot of his weaknesses as a player actually make us weaker in our current predicament.
Unless we had a genius of a manager and were spending £500m on world class players to surround him with, I dont see the value of keeping him, and the fact we would need to do that in the first place is all the more reason to sell him in my opinion...and wouldnt be surprised if he does really well at Madrid if they are dominating...for his sake he needs to as a season like the majority of his time here and the crowd will be on him worse than Bale

So pretty much the same as when he left Juve for Utd.

Get the message Paul, she's just not that into you.

Probably moreso to do with the fact that they've already spent nearly 300m this window without any outgoings so far...

Zidane seems pretty into him based off his public comments

Yeah that's the thing. From Pogba's point of view I can understand that he wants to play for Madrid next season given their excellent business this summer. Their squad looks great, on paper at least. But surely he must understand that after all that spending they don't have the funds to get him? Unless he wants to go back to Juve or maybe PSG but I don't think they can spend the required amount either. The timing of it all doesn't make sense to me. Doesn't sound like he's really thought this through.

"I really want to ride you Sharon, and I know you've been lying there with your legs spread, waiting for me for the last month, but its just that, in that time, i've totally drained myself into 4 other women.

I've nothing left for you Sharon!"

The amount of cup half full people on here is astounding. I don't get why the majority of us and not worried more. Are people happy to just become a team that finishes top half or delusional enough to think top 4 will be a breeze. Maybe I'm overly pessimistic but I honestly think we are rather fecked.
Pogba wants out although he may be told he cant leave. De Gea will leave on a free next year if not this summer. Lukaku is basically saying I want out also. We sold the tree, lost Herrera on a free and as much as I do not rate Mata he will likely do the same.
We have bought James a championship left winger when we already have two and none on the right. We cant seem to shift our players either and we report back for training 2 weeks tomorrow. Window shuts in 7.5 weeks and has been open for us 4.5 weeks already. Thats a lot of business for us to do whilst also visiting Australia where no doubt Ed will be also.

Maybe I just need a hug

They just spent a load on De Jong

Yea anyone expecting the club to reinvest and rebuild smartly after selling the little quality we have in the squad is in for some heartache.

Been a year of lies being peddled about a change in recruitment and football strategy + structure yet here we are a month into the window with Woodward still primarily at the helm of decision making and no word of a DOF/technical director or restructure being anywhere on the horizon...

Feels like we're in for even more of a precipitous decline to new lows with the way things are trending. Really hard not to see doom and gloom heading our way, fully expecting our main league rivals to be the likes of Wolves,Everton and Leicester this coming season more than any of the top 6

Agree with the above. I genuinely think United are not too far away from a Monaco. Lost too many players, bought poorly, ended up having to throw in kids, got into a death spiral and survived by the skin of their teeth.
