Gaming Crash Bandicoot to return? | Crash 4 is getting upgraded for next gen consoles. Free upgrade for those that have purchased it.

Trailer? They should have had a demo.
There's no way that game is at a point where they'll have finished a level that they're happy to be public for good. VV were making huge changes to the N.Sane Trilogy between the playable demos at conventions. I can see this being a trailer until E3, then become a demo.

Hmm true.

With Vicarious Visions not developing this, I'd be amazed if they're not working on something else Crash related. Crash Bash would be fun, but I kinda hope it's a new Crash title entirely.

I loved CTR in my youth but since I’ve played mario kart I don’t think this can compete and I know I’ll be left disappointed.

Looking forward to this.

CTR, Diddy Kong racing and Mario Kart are always fun to play with mates.

God damn, all Nitro Kart tracks are making it in too. NK wasn't nearly as good as CTR because it didn't get the racing mechanics right, but the tracks were pretty damn good.

I really really hope they nail the mechanics in this one. It's what made CTR possibly the best kart racer.

You start off with the classic kart and paint jobs you remember, but by earning new items as you play through the game the real fun comes from picking kart items and piecing them together into something awesome. Here’s how this works:

Wumpa Coins: The Key to Unlocking Kart Items

Expect a variety of customizable options for your karts, gained by progressing through the Adventure Mode and by earning Wumpa Coins. Collect these coins by playing the game then visit the game’s Pit Stop area and unlock a greater number of goodies. This means you can practice your racing, take on the game’s challenges, and unlock customization rewards to create the kart of your dreams!

[...]

Remember too; if you choose the PlayStation® 4 version of the game, you can also re-live the ‘90s and choose exclusive retro Crash, Coco, and Cortex character skins, their retro karts, as well as racing on a soon-to-be revealed retro track!

Also, pre-order the game on PlayStation® 4, Xbox, or Switch and receive the Electron Skins pack, including the Crash, Coco, and Cortex Electron Skins, each with a unique podium animation.

Sooo microtransactions too we reckon?
That's what wumpa coins sound like it. Fine if it's for cart customisation but I give it a month or two before you can buy speed boosts etc.

They're reasoning will be "You can earn wumpa coins in-game!" probably at a snails paces or buy 500 wumpa coins for a fiver.

Yeah my thinking too. Hope not though. I don't mind anyway, if it doesn't affect SP or couch multiplayer.

Can anyone remember how long the game was? Like 16-20 races? Each done 3 times? Race, time trial, collecting?

Seasonal 'Grand Prix' events announced, starting July 3rd. Whole bunch of new tracks, characters and skins unlockable.

We at Beenox have been waiting for this for a long time. Today we’re thrilled to announce the plans for post-launch content for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled!

Aside from all of the tracks, characters, modes, and customisation you already know about from the main game, expect even more content in the form of the CTR Nitro-Fueled Grand Prix: themed seasonal content and challenges available to anyone who has purchased the game, for no additional cost.

This includes an additional track released at the start of each season, and available to play both online and locally from that season onward!

The first of these seasons — the Nitro Tour Grand Prix — begins on 3rd July; less than two weeks after the game launches on 21st June. This is our way to give Crash fans everywhere even more ways to race!

They're going all out!

Tawna, Baby T, Spyro and the trophy girls all playable with 3 new tracks. This is an amazing remake.

Finally out this week. Probably one of the few games I’m looking forward to coming out this year.

@Alock1 you buying?

I'm picking this up for Switch for about £28 and it's looking like it will be one of the most value for money games ever. I know it's only going to run at 30fps on Switch, but as long as it's stable I think it'll be good enough. I loved the original and to this day I think it's as good as the best Mario Kart games. Unfortunately, Nitro Kart wasn't anywhere near as good and Mario Kart: Double Dash elevated that series way beyond, but I'm still glad that most if not all of the content from Nitro is in this. I played Mario Kart 8 on Wii U quite a lot, so I'm glad I put off buying it now as this will be my racer of choice for Switch until a new Mario Kart game is made. I've enjoyed the Switch a lot and this is one of the multiplayer experiences I can't wait to have with friends, there's a lot I'm buying this year!

Yes! Though not sure what platform to get it on. Switch would mean on the go, but less people to play with. Shame it doesnt have cross play (or does it?)

Disappointing that it's 30fps only mind.

I barely play games these days so looking forward to it

Whilst Crash Racing and Sonic Racing are fun, nothing beats Mario Kart. Diddy Kong Racing was the closest but MK is consistently amazing. Except that blue shell... I hate it.

Probably get it on ps as I buy the multi format multiplayer only games on there as more people and more of my friends on there. Leave the single player multi formats for the X.

Not sure about cross play. But PS4 online and obviously Xbox online are a lot better than switch and the invite system is better.

I doubt there will be cross play. Sony are weird when it comes to cross play, not letting other consoles join in. Would be nice though since I'm getting this for PS4.

One thing that remains a mystery is what will be unlocked from the gem cups, they haven't revealed anything about it so hopefully they're saving the surprise of Brio, Koala Kong, Komodo Joe, etc.

Anyone on PS4 getting this? Might pick it up if there are enough people on here getting it.

Same boat. I'm not sure which version to get. I'm heavily leaning towards the switch for ease of use, but I fear once I get back into it the 60fps thing will bug me.

No idea why they can't just do it anyway, MK8 looks and runs great on switch :(
