You've never been on holiday with your mates? Never acted the fool in front of them? People do silly things who cares!
Not like that, I'm not a shit football celebrity playing for the biggest club in the world anyway. Maybe if he actually played well people would forgive him..

I have no issue with him acting the fool and messing about , he is not the first and won't be the last footballer to do so. No big deal. But do it in private.

But why does he feel the need to document everything for public consumption , whether he likes it or not even in his off time he is representing the club. That is a full time responsibility when you are lucky enough to be a Man Utd player.

Acting the immature moron and celebrating that publicly is not a not a good look for the club.

He needs to grow up fast and realize that.

Most people's Instagrams aren't going out to millions of United fans while the club is struggling and player's attitudes are in question though. You'd think he'd switch on for a second and realise it might not be the best thing to do, even if it's not that bad.

Can he fire him so we never have to look at Lingard in a Manchester United shirt again?

Or sell him to West Ham for 30 million and win win for everyone

This guy isn’t focussed on the game and doesn’t give a shit about United, no matter what he says or where he’s from . He’s also bang average. Get rid.

It's not bad in isolation but it does keep adding up and I can see why people are finding reason to question his commitment, attitude and overall determination.

Compare him to Bellerin (two years younger) who has similar aspirations to be an e-celeb/fashion model and Lingard just comes across terribly.

I don't think many people would care if he was a real top player for us.

Let's face it, we regularly sing songs about United legends who are, variously, wife-beaters, alcoholics (those first two are probs linked to be fair!), granny shaggers, familial adulterers.

The fact that he's not up to United standard, and he's making videos like this is what is really pissing people off.

I did shit like that too when I was young. I was about 10 or so, but yeah. But lets leave that to one side, as its not really the point. Its yet another questionable incident from jlingz. Even if the sponsors didnt care, which I cant imagine is true, hes a representative of the club. Hes not just "jlingz". Hes jesse lingard of manchester united. And everything that he does reflects on the club. So if he really wants to act like he does, maybe he should stop posting videos of it on social media. I imagine that would be hard for a show off, but thats the truth of it.

If my boss told me what I could or couldn't do on holiday when I'm not even representing the business, I'd tell him to feck off.

AFAIK he didn't post it live to Instagram, it was on his private snapchat and somebody leaked the video? is this right?

If so that's hardly his fault. If he uploaded it live to everybody then more fool him.

I have no issue with the guy acting how he wants to act. Pretty typical behaviour from a guy in his mid 20s on holiday with his mates. The onus is on the club to look at his behaviour (and performances!) and decide whether they want him to be one of the faces of the club.

The argument that all young lads do stupid things is similar to when people said Mourinho was talking sense during his meltdown last season.

That is not the point - the point is that this is being publicly shared and he's meant to be a professional footballer representing a huge team.

You wouldn’t say shit if you were a Manchester United player, making millions by being a nothing player.

That clown is associating his hideous social media accounts with the club, “Jesse Lingard, Manchester United player”.
Therefore, he is representing the club to some degree.

As far as Im aware he uploaded it himself. I think someone said he meant to save it to his phone but uploaded by mistake(yet another excuse for poor social media form). If it was leaked then fair enough, its not on him.

As England fan I don't see any issue.

Looks like a normal lad from Manchester to me. In fact a pretty tame one...

Should we expect footballers to be robots?

I'd be more worried if he was on the lash constantly like Rooney...

Juvenile SM video doesn't bother me at all. Give him a clip around the ear and move on.

Its genius. Its how he keeps everyone thinking he is 18 and and up and coming player that needs time to improve.

Spot on and best quote so far.

He's on holiday people should find something else to be angry about.

If it was a one off you could say ah he's just being a dick fair enough, but this must be the 5/6th video of him just being a complete melt.

West Ham coach, him looking hard punching some manikin, god knows how many "beans beans beans" selfie videos, it is just cringing and as you say if it was a one off being a bell fair enough but it feels like its every month.

If he worked in Tesco, fair enough, can't be acting like that consistently when you play for United, thing is as well since Rash has gotten involved in all this shit his form has nosedived, now they just come across as two clowns who don't care if United win or lose they still get their money to act like wannabe reality tv stars.

If that is all they are bothered about, go do it somewhere else.

I’m still not seeing the issue with the video. It’s mild larking around at worst. Some of you lot must go on holiday with your mates and read the bible all week
You work for any high profile business, what you do reflects on that business. Thats the issue. Anything else is a matter of personal taste.

Wayne Rooney is one of the greatest Manchester United players of all time, there’s no place for comparison between the two.
If Lingard played anywhere near as good as Rooney I couldn’t care less if he was doing heroin.

Just a little bit of a difference between representing Man United and representing some two bit corporate firm.

If you want to act a prat 24/7 then go work for shitty little firm or a club who don't care about the image that you portray, United are a different animal altogether, which stems from Busby/Fergie.

Lingard has a problem with that, then go be shit for some other two bob club who don't care about you acting a complete melt in front of millions.

Also, comparing to playing and representing Man United to our day to day jobs haha really

Yeah you see Adidas pulling away from our next shirt deal because Lingard acted like a tool whilst on a holiday? :houllier:

THIS! If Lingard was even giving 5% of Rooney did, I would not give a shit about what he done, the fact that he is an absolute Turkey giving us sod all consistently but dragging our name through the mud, see you later

Yeap. Friend of mine just missed out on a job because an old mate of his that already works at the company had told stories in the office of how much they used to party. They then refused him because they thought he was still too immature and unreliable. So basically they thought he was like Lingard.

And youd get fired. When is a manchester united player not representing the club? When has any headline not been "Manchester united player, jesse lingard..." or "jesse lingard of Manchester untied...". When you work in a high profile business you are always representing the club. Thats part of the reason they get paid stupid money.

That video is just another tool to vent at Lingard because he's crap on the pitch. Literally no one from our corporate environment will care about it.

Footballers also have private life and can do whatever they want with their lives, especially when on holiday.

If I had like 10 year old kids following him on social media and they saw that recent Snapchat video I definitely wouldn't love it.

What's far more important than anything else though, is that he's bad at football.

But obviously fans care about it, especially when seeing their club fall from grace. Surely you'd take that into consideration if you played for United? I know I would.

Maybe he should share it on his private Instagram.

So you don't think anyone at Man United will care that he is posting all this shit and making the club look even more embarrassing that they already do with the stuff going on this summer?

Don't agree with that in the slightest, if I was on holiday and I worked for one of the 5 biggest companies on the planet, I was a name known to millions who followed and purchase stuff from my company, and a video of me was posted looking like as much of a helmet as Lingard does on a monthly basis, would my firm not care and not warn me about my future conduct?

Personally think they would give a shit, but only my opinion.

If I had an employee who was a major name in my corporation who had 6 million followers and he was acting like that, he would be getting the rollocking of a lifetime.

I highly doubt Ole will care. Far too much is being made of this.

Wonder if the club issued a warning when Rooney was shagging prostitutes, or when Giggs was shagging his brothers wife. Heaven forbid Jesse film a stupid video.
It is these kind of posts that really grate me. You do realize that whatever Giggs or Rooney were doing, it was part of their private lives, that became public accidentally, they didn't intend the whole world to know about it. Lingard does this intentionally, he wants the whole world to see it. Everyone does stupid things but it is going out of your way to broadcast this stupidity to the whole world is what's the issue here.
