No doubting his potential but he needs to start scoring scruffy goals around the 6 yard box if he wants to nail down that position. He lacks composure at times, which hopefully, through maturity and decent coaching, will come. If so, we should be looking for 20+ goals a season from him

We now have both Martial and Rashford on +200k a week salary, something worth only superstars while both are can't even get past 15 goals a season or so. :houllier:
If they both end up stagnating moving them on will be very tricky, that's why such big salaries are a risk.

So he earns more than Aguero and Harry Kane right? Also more than Gabriel Jesus who plays less than half the time Rashford does but Jesus has outscored him every season..

Still can't get over this renewal. First Fellaini, then Rojo, Jones, Young, Mata.. rumour of Lingard next. It really does beggar belief, especially when Herrera just walked out on a free and De Gea could do the same next summer.

Looks like the club is going with Rashford being the leading guy upfront next season and I suspect that is going to fail rather abysmally. Yes he is home grown, yes he has potential, yes he deserves a new contract. However, he is not prolific to be leading the line of a top football club certainly not yet.

Both Rashford and Martial truly need to start performing consistently this season. Let's hope for our sake that they do as they both have the potential to be extremely exciting players in an attacking team.

That puts him level with Kane (above every other Tottenham player, Salah (above every other Liverpool player), in fact very few players higher than this - De Bruyne, Sterling - you know players that actually have proved themselves to be the very top players season after season. The only outcasts are the likes of Ozil and Sanchez and the less said about them the better.
I really dont give a monkeys how much is paid and I would rather a local lad who loves the club to get a a high wage....BUT if he is paid on the level of Kane Salah etc and the top boys he should perform at that level.[/QUOTE]

Every young talent around the world will read about Rashford’s new salary. The word on the street around those talents will be if you want to earn mega bucks then Manchester United is the place to go. That’s worth a lot.

From Henry Winter's article.
his new salary is less than half some of the crazier figures mentioned in headlines

But he was the (second) best player for the first two months Ole was in charge? That's surely worth 200k/wk.

Happy with this one. Considering his age, Rashford is by far one of the most exciting players in the team.

Yeah I mentioned it on the last page. People will ignore that though.
Without by doubt and usual guys will start throwing random figures in every thread.

Very well deserved.
£200K a week for contributing 8 goals a season?

Yes, I see the logic there... :houllier:

No problem with him, as the potential is there, but those sort of wages are for established players, who walk the walk - or at least they should be. Sanchez, his wages, plus the poor position the club is in, is sending the directors and staff into panic mode.

Or we are missing now, is Lukaku to sign another 4 year + 1 deal, and we are truly in comedy mode.

Excellent news

We just need Lingard to be offered a similar contract extension since their performances and importance to the team is comparable

Feck me, 21 year old earning 200K per week :annoyed: He has lots of potential and hope he can keep his motivation and keep working hard to be world class.

Aside, I thought failing to qualify for CL will trigger a clause in the contract for pay cut? Instead he got new better contract :houllier:

Fantastic news a player like this coming up the ranks signing a new deal.

With Ole guiding him he will get more clinical.I think it's only a matter of time before he's numbers are up with the big Dogs.

I honestly think if Mourinho was the manager Rashford wouldn't be signing a new deal And we would be keeping Lukaku.

Glad it's the other way around!

Don't see how this can be seen as anything but a good thing.

Stuns me how quickly some have turned on both De Gea and Rashford.

Great example to youngsters that if you work hard, focus and improve, you're hard work will be rewarded. But if you don't do that, you'll be rewarded anyway.

How? Rashford works harder than the vast majority of United players and yes he has improved. A bad spell at the end of the season after his injury doesn't mean he hasn't.

From Henry Winter's article.
This won't matter, first time he has a run of poor form next season his performances thread will be full of posts about him being on £350k a week.

Same as that one report of Lingard being on "upto £100k" which was fairly quickly shown to be much higher than his actual wage has led to the basic assumption from everyone that he's on £100k basic.

Seems like we're committed to a wage bill worthy of champions.

Rashford now paid the same as Salah, 20k more than Firminho or VVD, twice as much as Mane although I think he deserves more than 100k

20k more than Sterling, 90k more than Mahrez or Bernardo Silva

Parity with Aubameyang, 18k more than Lacazette

50k more than Kante

Parity with Harry Kane, 60k more than Son, double Dele Alli, more than double Eriksen but once again clearly he deserves to have his wage bumped up a lot with him sitting at just 75k

We're paying him to be one of the best players in the league. So he's got a few levels to go up next season

Rashford is about twice as much better and more important than Lingard can be. Lingard can be released for all I care but Marcus has a future at United.

Why do people believe tabloid papers? Why? I don't get it.
You'd have to be pretty daft to think he's on some ridiculous wage.

His agent has done wonders. Not even 5+1 either. So we can expect another round of negotiations in a couple seasons. The joy.

I do agree Rashford needs to step up but majority in your list was secured using a transfer fee unlike Rashford. Believe it or not that plays an important part these days during contract negotiations. One of the reasons Juve is paying Ramsey 400k a week.

There wouldn’t be any other elite European team after him so why offer so much. He’s not exactly an in demand player and he never will be. This club never learns.

Bit more research rather than using silly season, sporttrac or whatever shit that is called, will prove half of the wages you posted are completely wrong.

Majority in the list are just wrong. Sterling, Kante earns shit loads more than Rashford, same with Auba.

Personally, I think he has gone backwards in the last 18 months. He certainly hasn't improved to warrant quadrupling his wages!

Whats he on, £250k now?
We don't know. All we know is it's less than half of some of the reported wages.

I mean, he absolutely has not, but you're free to think whatever you want. We also don't know what his new wages are, except it's not what has been said in the tabloids.

source? most places have these same numbers

A few have Auba at £180k instead of £200k. Where do you see that he's on shit loads more than £200k?

Absolutely ridiculous amount of money, says a lot about the club if we can be fleeced so easily by anyone.
