Ander Herrera: "During the CL game at Old Trafford, I have in my mind the away fans, they were chanting all the match. The way they were supporting their players was amazing."

Such a humble guy , I really miss him . Lovely guy outside the pitch and a tough on it - he was always giving it all .
Don't know how he can sit around someone like Lingz or Pogba , social media stars

I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
Give me a player like that who is respectable, dedicated and wants to win over our shower of s*ite any day.
Sorry?

By all accounts Herrera had a contract on the table for over 18 months and chose not to sign it before he tried to hold us ransom for a ridiculous contract for a 30 year old.

He can get fecked for all I care. The bullshit he went on with to try and get fans to lap it up, whiles he gone and signed for the most ridiculous club in world football. He's no different to Tevez and the bullshit he tried to pull at the end when Fergie wouldnt sing him.

He doesn't give a shit about United or anybody else.

You know all of that to be fact do you? I have absolutely no issues with any of our players (who are contributing in matches) asking to be paid top dollar - especially when they look across the room and see a guy who contributes nothing earning double what they earn. Good for him, and I wish him all the best.

And by all accounts that original offer sitting on the table was shit. This coming after we triggered his automatic contract extension by friggin' post. I wonder why he wasn't scrambling to sign that contact? Despite continuously being dropped for new shiny toys that were being paid more than he was, he never once gave anything but his all, to the point where he won player of the year. Even then the renewal, by all accounts, was less than we were willing to pay others that were performing far worse than he was. It makes me laugh when fans demand any level of loyalty or commitment from players when they or the club aren't willing to match it.

 indeed.

Guy was dedicated, committed and always respectful. Even when he wasn’t starting - he never caused a fuss and by all accounts, he was professional. Even won our POTY award.

He deemed he was worth more (either in wages or contract length or both) than what the club was/is willing to offer & both parties decided to part ways.

I’d wish him well.Don’t really get the hate at all.

He was never that great for us, people really go on about the passion too much. He played safe passes, had a pretty weak shot on him. No great loss. And if PSG are paying £350k a week for him, then green laughing smilie to that.

it is 250k though, but a whopping 5 year contract. Well done to him, sorted his future financially.

Of all the player politics we see at our club in recent years and this is where they take issue? This is likely his last big contract. He'd already been at the club for 3.5 years and seen the likes of Rojo get a new deal with him, Young, Matic and Fred being paid 50% more than he, and being notified of his renewal by post. The bloke has been completely committed for the last 5 years, and if someone else wants to pay him substantially more then so be it.

I don't particularly care about his comments. It's obvious he's pandering to the fans but the fact that he has gotten a five year deal there proves that the club was right to not match those terms.

The hate he gets here. Amazing. Even after he left. Hate should be aimed at Ed, not him. But fans being fans. Fickle bunch.

I agree, never understood the romanticism for him on here, he was a very limited player for us but well done to him getting a 5 year deal at PSG on mega money.

Got the right temperament and character for United but came up short talent wise. That's not saying anything about our remaining players.

Yeah, 100%.

I have no issue whether people think he was good enough or not anyway - at the end of the day United & Ander didn’t agree on a valuation and they parted ways. He was nothing but respectful during his time here and always spoke/acted professionally.

He received a better offer and he did what was best for him and his family. I honestly don’t get the hate. He was even likened to Tevez, who ended up signing for a direct rival and held up a RiP Fergie sign.

This.. Its what he does, nothing wrong with it.
The amount of abuse our players and managers get for speaking honestly, and when someone does play it by the book we want to abuse him too? When have we ever heard a bad word spoken about Herrera from this club or previous ones? He's a consummate professional, good luck to the lad.

Because we are weakened as a team and a squad. Our midfield balance was disturbed in the last stages and thus we failed to finish top 4.

Exactly. The club evidently had absolutely no issues with Herrera whatsoever, hence why they posted his leaving message on our social media account. As you say, whether he was good enough or not was irrelevant.

In the same time some players who flert with other clubs and don't act professional at all are treated like saints.

This was Psg's way of giving it back for Champions league elimination. And we ended in Europa league.

He knows how to become a fan favourite, keeps repeating same things, praising fans etc.
But its a normal, professional thing to do and say but it has been so overrated in here.
Just like you say he gave his all,but his all was never and would never be good enough in our past, just like present and for certain in our future when he is player of age of 30 and relying on his so called passion, workrate. He was a part of our decline in recent years and for one season was a bit better than the bunch of other mediocre players just like Shaw this season(POTY).

He was brought in and supposed to also bring some Spanish playmaking skills with also his tenacity, passion and help us in creating chances but never did that and failed in that department, supposed to be a attacking box to box player but was converted to a defensive role because he didnt realise his potential in more attacking one.He was better than some other signings for sure but not a player we should be moaning about leaving because we did not give him a 5 year contract at the age of 30.

A contract which he got in the end. Heads up - most players don't care about the club they play for more than to leave if they get a better offer elsewhere.

Who gives a feck, once they're gone they're gone in my eyes.

I still don't look at Beckham in the same way.

I think if we had acted honourably and offered him a proper wage increase rather than an automatic extension the club could justify being upset. I can understand why we would not match psg's offer of a 5 year contract - that is just mad for a player at his age.

If we had offered him parity with his colleagues with a 2 plus one contract then I think it would be interesting what he would have decided to do. No animosity towards him as a player - had genuine work ethic and could be a great player on his day. I'd take 11 Herrera's in my team over 2 pogbas that's for sure!
