Pogba’s replacement should have already been bought. The Saul and SMS briefings are just big money names Eddy can throw out there to whet the appetite.

As if we’re going to pull off some last minute big money replacement. A guy like Saul is someone we would have to be recruiting for a year or more, convincing him this project is right. Our last 12 months have been anything but convincing.
Saul and SMS would be a huge upgrade on Pogba. The only problem is where would the goals come from. Both are not scoring mids. That is why Bruno is a must. Saul, SMS and Bruno wouldnt work though so probably the stories are bull. SMS was a Mou kind of midfielder not sure he suits Ole. And Saul is very unrealistic.

I’m a little surprised we haven’t tried hijacking the Tielemans deal, especially if we know we’re losing Pogba. Although I suppose that would probably make the Maguire negotiations very sour.

In a two horse race.
Yeah so? Real Madrid won 2 leagues in the last 10 years, the obvious challenge is to stop Barca's domination. Why does everyone see only "try to win something with a crap and dysfunctional team" as a challenge? You can very well challenge yourself in a successful team as well.

No rush, we can try and get him from Leicester in 2 years time for £80m.

Exactly what I was thinking to be honest  I’m fairly confident we’ll go for him in the future when he’ll cost an arm and a leg.

Just read the tweet. Would be an interesting development..
It's not really something you can make up / lie about really
What are you talking about, you can literally lie about anything. That's what makes lies so useful.

I'm sure it'll be a huge challenge coasting through games until El Clasico comes around.

Thats a bit harsh on SMS - he scored 21 goals in his last 90 matches for Lazio. Not exactly Lampard, but not too far behind Pogba in his last 2 seasons at United (22 in 84)

More impressive if SMS isn't taking penalties for Lazio?

SMS isn't close to the quality we need. Saul is a good player but we should keep Pogba and the buy Saul to improve as a team. Otherwise we're going backwards from an already terrible position. That said, given then it seems De Gea is getting a new deal, I imagine it was his agent Mendes who asked us to get Saul a new deal at AM. We get Saul his contract then De Gea signs. Why are we involved in this shady shit? Why not simply buy Saul?

Of course you can lie about anything.
It's easy to say Man Utd are interested in x, y and z and nothing come of it.

To literally say Pogba didn't get on the bus, instead got into a different vehicle and in the complete opposite direction, then to magically appear with the rest of the team is a bit stupid...

We haven't exactly been coasting through games in the last 2 seasons...or actually we did. Hence why we finished with 76 and 68 points...

Last season he spent most of it sulking and pouting

Played different position, so had to be the box to box type more than just scorer from the deep. Whole Lazio was a mess most of last season though, so nothing spectacular.

He does not want to be here. Simple as. No point in keeping someone who is hell bent on fecking off.

For those talking about the Neil Custis tweet, he obviously made it up, Pogba is on Uniteds pictures of the squad boarding the plane.

What did coutinho do to get that price then?? Be Brazilian?
If Pogba had played for us like Coutinho played for Liverpool before Barca cam in then everyone on here would have a love in with Pogba... not even close to comparable in terms of effort and importance..... but taking your analogy forward Klopp had the sense and foresight to see a better TEAM without Coutinho

SMS would be a shockingly shite replacement for Pogba.

Not when there's the likes of Lo Celso or Fernandes or any other number of better options. Could probably come up with at least 10 that would cost the same or less than SMS.

If we sell Pogba it better be for a decent price and we better invest that in two players almost immediately. Otherwise I'll be on that anti-Glazers bandwagon like everyone else is.

I believe the main reason is our lack of investment. All we have to do is invest in the team.
I'm not saying he should pick the players we buy. But when you compare our signings to City's and then what Real are doing this year, it's a clearly different approach.
