Burnley have a mix, some are hard but the likes of Bardsley and Barnes are definitely dirty with it.
Fair enough. But every side has a couple of dirty players, ourselves included. Spurs only have a couple who aren't.

Wasn't happy with the first half challenges by Sissoko and Alli seeing as it was just a friendly.

That said I can't lie and I have to admit that I actually enjoy the style of play and the fact it can irritate rival fans this much.
A fair point. I used to like it when we had Keane and latterly Vidic kicking people 10ft into the air. Especially arsenal. But it’s beyond the pale and unnecessary in a friendly.

It was forgotten very quickly as it happened the night Leicester won the league -
Spurs are officially the dirtiest side in Premier League history - the meltdown the night they bottled it at Stamford Bridge, Spurs had NINE bookings but somehow no dismissals. Dembele got a long ban though for eye gouging Costa at half time. The FA fined them 225K as well. Vile club.

It's a little annoying that some seem to be buying the Spurs fans whataboutery and actually allowing themselves mention how Keane and Vidic played in the same breath as Dele fecking Alli.

Keane and Vidic were hard as nails and yes, Keane on occassion could be dirty, but he was never a coward. Alli is as weak as piss - a snide, dirty little shit who tries to leave studs in his opponents from positions he can run the hell away in a hurry.

Although the team that represented them that day acted in a poor way it seems unfair to call them a vile club.

Has the time finally come for a "are Chelsea the most likeable team in the league" thread??
That would be an insult in my eyes, the more bitter oppo fans the better.

Clattenberg has come out and said he should have sent Spurs players off but deliberately didn't.

I think Alli deserves some sympathy.

If you had that face staring at you through the mirror every day how would you feel?

Have some heart guys

Yeah, for me Alli is the most unlikeable player in the league. Very dirty player.

Not only are they the dirtiest but they love to cheat. Their diving is on another level to everything.

Lamela and especially Kane and Dele are horrible. Then they have the cheek to talk shit about Salah.

Kane is giving Suarez a run for his money.

Totally agree about that in a friendly. Not sure what was in some of their heads.

Not to justify it because while I personally enjoyed that match it certainly didn’t shine the club in the best light I will say that Chelsea have prior for those kinds of outrageous blow ups and often try to come out looking like the victims.

They’ve been warned several times already and the very next season them and City has a similar altercation with Fabregas getting eye gouged again I believe.

A Dennis Wise - without Vinny Jones behind him :)

I think this debate popped up early last year and I remember seeing some articles about how Poch's teams commit the most fouls in the opponent's half at the turnover of possession. All teams do this to a degree but Spurs are the ones who stand out in my mind as the most consistent in doing it, to the point it is clearly a tactic.

If you take a man out on the halfway line when he's on the counter it's almost always a yellow but if you're hacking someone down on the edge of their box, you usually get a few warnings before the ref even thinks about producing a card.

I would say we should also do this more but now VAR is coming in, I suspect it's something they'll get a lot stricter on and I can see it being a big talking point of when the manager's speak to the league.

Can't see VAR changing anything about it unless the challenge is red worthy.

Think they should show similar passion in CL final, unfortunately then won't play another one in 21st century.

If that were to happen, City will need to re-think their whole strategy. I still think Spurs and City will get away with 3-4 professional fouls a game.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here?

Spurs
Premier League Fair Play table:

2018-19: United 2nd from bottom, Spurs 8th. United 71 yellow cards, Spurs 55. United 4 red cards, Spurs 3.

In fact, Spurs have been much higher than United in the Fair Play table for the last 3 seasons.

It doesn't fit the cosy narrative of some United fans, but them are the facts. In summary, United play less fairly than Spurs.

Give me a break - Suarez bit people. There is no comparison at all.

LOLzy, well played.

It's only because other teams play harder against them. It's so unfair.

While I don't mind a bit of shithousery here and there, Spurs can be pure filth when their backs are against the wall. With that said, with Herrera gone I feel we've got a massive shithouse vacuum that needs filling – every team needs a bastard or two.

You're not really cheating very well if you keep getting caught.

 Bottlers using stats to justify stamping on players in a friendly.

That's some pretty twisted logic buddy.

'it's ok to be a violent thug as long as you're not a coward. Trying to end players careers (keane) is acceptable as long as you're capable of taking a hard tackle yourself'.

The only real problem that I saw today was the stamp on James.

The rest was a bit over zealous for a friendly but it made for a good game.
