For as shite as we are, using our name still works wonders.
Zaha was the first choice but as soon as Palace failed to negotiate removing the sell on clause to United it was always going to be difficult. In my opinion there was no chance of Palace accepting this kind of deal that they have with Pepe. They wanted a large chunk of money paid upfront and Arsenal could not afford that so had to move on.If all stories are true, Zaha got fecked a bit by Arsenal.
Shame, he was pretty decent for us. Similarly enough Varela had some impressive moments too.Tweet

Get used to it as it's not going to change and only will get worse as our cash stops flowing in due to being unsuccessful on the pitchSo in "huge" and "most important" transfer window in years, our net spend will be zero.

Like we did with Lukaku and JuveTweet

Same thing we’re doing with the Lukaku/Dybala story, I imagine.Tweet

This is new low for us. We laughed how they have 40mil "war chest" and look at them now. Shambolic stuffArsenal having a better window than us
That would be far too sensibleJust pay the release clause for Thomas Partey
We are not after anyone. Brilliant.Tweet

its happened we are fecked, what has Ed been doing since May?When Arsenal have a better transfer window than you, you know you’re in trouble
He'd sell his own mum.Tweet

Someone smart will sign him and then Stone will post a horribly worded tweet about how we were never in for him. That would be far too sensible
See where his resolve is next year, they will need to be negotiating with him at that point as he will only have 2 years left, if he flat out tells them he isn't signing with them then he'll be up for sale.Tweet

Pure economics mate.its happened we are fecked, what has Ed been doing since May?
Stick to your guns Ashley, 11 more days to go.Tweet

What? Great time to find your balls, Ashley. Where were they when you were selling your best players weeks ago?Tweet

Makes it a lot easier to appear defiant when nobody is willing to pay the asking priceWhat? Great time to find your balls, Ashley. Where were they when you were selling your best players weeks ago?
The defence looks good if we get Maguire but not buying a single midfielder after we've lost two doesnt make any sense. And we need to buy a striker too if Lukaku goes. Three ins and one out in 11 days is doable.Couldn’t agree more. Maguire and WanB would be a box ticked on defence for this window.
Massive failure on midfield considering we’ve lost Fellaini and Herrera, Matic has fallen off a cliff and Fred hasn’t adjusted. Our response is to sign nobody.
As for attack we’re betting all chips on Rashford and Martial exploding this year cause I don’t see James setting the world alight although it’s a decent enough signing squad wise.
Window has been a disaster, no other way to look at it.
I can't wait for our sponsorship deals to dry up and our revenue drop.Pure economics mate.
Let’s play it out:
1. Can’t get rid of deadweight so no transfer income or wage savings
2. This leaves us with our starting transfer budget only
3. If we overspend the budget from 2 above on below top tier talent is it worth it? I mean, even if we sign Maguire for a record fee, we will still be battling for the fourth place. Have a bad few fixtures and we end 5th/6th anyway after significant outlay.
So may as well not spend over our budget.
Considering people keep saying that "lukaku going will free up funds for more attackers". I think a strong argument could be made that any maguire deal in the range of 80-90m may be held up by needing to sell lukaku first.Pure economics mate.

People will have you believe our youngsters will step up, they aren't getting more than a sniff of action I'd bet. It will be the same shit different season and then Pogba will leave next summer.Apart from AWB this window has been a complete disaster and people are yet again laughing at us and how we do business. The lack of incomings and outgoings which we were promised hasn't happened and the gap will only get bigger. I fear Ole won't last the season and don't let the pre-season form fool you, with basically the same squad as last season were we were hammed by the likes of West ham and Everton the beaten by Huddersfield and Cardiff, let that sink in
I'd play him at centre-back ahead of Mustafi.Tweet

I feel like if the Maguire deal dies just before the deadline, Alderweireld could be the fellaini deal of this window. Not in terms of skills, i mean that we could possibly sign him for a higher transfer fee after his clause expires. Simply because Woodward needs another signing before deadline.Tweet
