Pogba will sign a new contact this season, with figures that will be the talk of football for a little while shortly after (the world of British football have a particular keen interest in what Manchester United pay their footballers).

He stays.

Can’t see how RM can raise the cash. If they don’t make an acceptable offer in the next week I think he’s staying. They may keep trying after our window is closed and theirs is still open, but no way would we let him go in those circumstances.
Sorry I should have added some white text. that was sarcasm towards people who'll spin every action to interpret as him leaving.

Sell Bale and spend the money on Pogba.

I doubt the China deal is for real but even if it is I just don't see Bale taking it. In another couple of years I am sure semi retirement in China for a pile of cash would be attractive but right now he still has ambitions and regardless of what Zidane says he know that if he sits tight the club will end up having to play him because the President is not going to let Zidane leave a player on his salary in the reserves. Options are narrowing and I mentioned elsewhere that the most realistic solution might be PSG if they do sell Neymar as they can offer him the salary and the opportunity to win trophies that he is looking for. The other possible destinations such as ourselves and Bayern have already ruled it out.

We don't need to sell at all but Pogba could weaken our position by agitating for a move. If he does, we won't get anywhere near £200 million.
But we hold all the cards as he can’t force the move. He is a world champion, player of huge quality, relatively young and also a celebrity. It is far more likely that we offer him say 400k per week contract than sell for such peanuts as 120m

There are no players in world football currently in his position who are better, and then add here a celebrity status.

And we're a 6th placed club fannying around in the Europa League. Do we really want to keep an unhappy player? Anyway, all this is supposition but I think that if he pushed for a move as Ronaldo did, we might get one more season out of him and then it's goodbye.

Absolute rubbish. We will stick with a minimum of £180m, think we’ve made that clear. Hence he won’t be going.
I'll have a sportsman's bet with you. I say he'll go before the Spanish window closes and the fee will be around £120 - £130. Loser has to spend an evening listening to Abba's Greatest Hits on a loop.

Once the season starts, most players forget about their bad transfers and focus on their season. There is an important tournament at the end of the 19-20 season and Pogba wouldn't want his form to drop drastically for Deschamps to consider not starting him anymore. Besides it is impossible to have a full team of "happy" players. It's pro football, not kindergarten.

So this is likely to get interesting again with the Bale news.

Real were supposedly letting Zidane know that the funds were not there after their earlier business but now Bale is off the books they likely need to make a serious offer or risk pissing off the manager that they only just managed to lure back.

Meanwhile, after already having spent huge money, RM keep on losing and losing and losing (ok, also a lucky draw against Arsenal in there). It´s just preseason, but with such a terrible end of last season, preseason counts for something. Just imagine United losing these 4 games instead of winning. Pogba wants to play for Zidane, but I wonder how long Zidane will be at RM. A 3-7 loss to Atletico Madrid is shocking, even if it´s just preseason.

My feelings are the same. Madrid getting absolutely rinsed against Atletico, some say that it could have been an even bigger defeat if the latter didn't take the foot off the gas pedal.

I have a feeling Zidane might flop hard without a GOAT-tier player which Cristiano Ronaldo was for them.

I dont think we sell at this stage. Real offer 150, we demand 180 etc. Dont think Madrid will be value for the money theyve spent anyway and Zidane doesnt convince me other than as a figurehead. Real got worse year on year during his reign and the champions league successes masked declining domestic form.

There is no way Pogba is moving this summer. If Pogba leaves at this stage it will be very unsettling and will cost us top 4 CL qualifycation for another season, almost guaranteed.

We finished 6th WITH Pogba.
His good form after Ole took over saved us from even bigger damage and probably got Ole his perma job. It all went a bit downhill from there to be honest...

On topic: It would be big mistake to sell him at this stage. He had a very good pre season and seems very much to be in Ole's plans for next season. Unlike Lukaku.

Selling him at this stage would be a massive mistake. Already a key player in preseason and it would have a negative effect on team moral.

If in June i would have seen sense in selling for 150-180 mil, now we should refuse all offers.

I think that it will be the same as with Cristiano. We will make a deal with him to stay this season, he will do everything to bring us back in CL and then we will allow him to leave for decent price. Maybe we even offer him wage rise
