Where has this over confidence come from? I remember hearing the same thing from Leicester fans after you won the league.

If a player wants to leave its very difficult to keep the player, especially when a decent offer is on the table. The Leicester owners are in the business to make money after all.

And United aren’t media darling. We generate clicks because every fans wants to read about it, whether United supporters or not. You even took the time to open an account on here to keep telling us we won’t get Maguire.
our Owners are in it for success making money is a by product, the amount of money they have pumped into the club is evidence enough of that. It's not overconfidence its experience of how they operate and given he signed a 5 year deal last summer Harry won't be leaving unless the owners OK it, they are hands on in this transfer instead of leaving it to the DOF like they would normally.

Wouldn't it be logical for owners to Ok it (provided it is above the fee for VVD), considering what Maguire did for the good of the club. Player wants to move to a bigger club, he acted professionally and played well, doesn't he deserve?

His agent liked some random tweet from a United fan saying Maguire will be announced as a United player tomorrow  wtf

I haven't said that so don't confuse me with someone please, in fact I told someone else to stop talking about arrogance etc.
Im not confusing you with anybody. Since day one you've been fighting against reports and have been unnecessarily aggressive.
First its he wants to stay, Leicester are going places and United aren't. Then its weeks of accusing United and our fans of not adapting to modern English football and how Leicester will never ever sale with how EPL finances are.
Now youve given up with the Leicester power house / loyal Maguire narratives so not only is it generally accepted that he wants to leave, Leicester will sale at the right price.
It seems like arguing back against any perceived slight over the last few months has been a waste of time.
You signed up to Red cafe to attack our club at every turn. It doesn't make any sense to me.
We aren't writing these articles.

and what has he done for the club exactly over what the club also did for him? He has been here 2 years and isn't one of the title winners, he hasn't even formally asked for a transfer and by all accounts isn't causing a fuss at all.

Leicester City are trying to break into the top 6 long term, how do we do that by selling one of our best players to a member of the top 6?

Also please don't make out you're worried about Maguire not being treated fairly its just you want the player at United

Certainly, that's a fair point. I don't care about Maguire per se, I care about top defender joining the club. If we were after Varane or Koulibaly I wouldn't even be thinking about Maguire. But, given we are after him and he ticks the boxes, I fully support the idea of the transfer.

To address another point of yours (how to become top 6 side) - well you may buy good players, as Man Utd is reportedly ready to pay a lot. You take the funds and buy other players for the squad.

P.S. If, as you noted, he actually did NOT do that much good for the team, then it's only twice as logical to sell for a record fee, isn't it? And for the other players it would be an example of what a player can achieve if he joins Leicester.

Football, bloody hell.
If we get Maguire and keep Pogba I'll be pretty content with this window. I think we have midfielders who can kick on this season including McTominay, Pereira, Fred and the likes of Gomes and Chong and I think a solid defence will help everyone ahead of them.

How have they been rubbish? The odd twert yeah buy nothing is out of the ordinary with this timeline.
because they pretty much all said deal done signing imminent etc and Harry Maguire is still a Leicester player with no deal close, so they were total rubbish, if they were true Maguire would have been a United player for a month already

If Maguire wants to leave and Leicester are willing to sell him then then the deal is naturally close?
Whether we up our bid is a different argument.

no, deal close is fee agreed, medical passed just finalising the fine details, you haven't come close to our valuation so the deal is miles away
 so it is. It was definitely there. Maguire did similar earlier in the window didn't he?
he liked something then apologised saying he fat thumbed it or something

True. But seems he might want to be off though.

Probably to City.

Gas. Players and anyone connected to a club or player have to be SO careful these days.

he may well be interested in going and trebling his wages, who wouldn't be, especially with an increased chance of silverware, I've never said he wouldn't be interested I have only cast doubt over shoddy reports and tried to give the benefit of my experience of how our owners operate
And this is based on?...
the actually good sourced reporters that keep saying that no deal is close to happening and stay silent when the latest click bait BS gets spouted by the usual suspects

people also forget that agents make money from transfers so will push for them.

Garner wasn't in the squad because he was playing in Northern Ireland with our U23s, he's not going on loan to Leicester.

If you listened to your sources thwre wouldn't have been any movement from day one.
You cant accuse us of believing tweets yet act as if yours 100 percent on the up.
You're just as bad as the posters you snarl at but we'll leave it there.

excuse my ignorance but who is this player? what position is he etc?
He is a 17-year-old defensive midfielder who was promoted to senior team by OGS and already made his senior debut for Man Utd last season (as a late substitution). Highly regarded by Carrick as a talented midfielder.

Zero chance Garner is going to Leicester as part of the deal. He wouldn’t get a game.

what movement, you've made one bid and it was rejected, that is all that has happened, even if informal you were told the price but haven't met it, there is no movement to speak of.

I believe the people I believe because they have a proven track record and haven't made themselves look like an idiot on an almost weekly basis

ah thanks, I can tell you we wouldn't be interested then, we already have too many CM's at the club and are potentially offloading Papy Mendy as we have NDidi and Choudhury for the holding role.

A winger or a striker would make sense
