The thing i don't like about this is the fact that he doesn't want to come (or it seems that way, anyway)

Why do we want another player like that at the club. Regardless of how good he is, it's just a silly mistake again by the club. If indeed it's true. Looks like it's a move being forced upon him rather than him wanting to come here.
He wants to join, otherwise his agent wouldnt be flying over. He will listen to the contract offer and the plan for him. It is for us to convince to join him. He would like to stay, but once he realises that he is better off here and the role we can give him, he will happily take it. I doubt Aguero and Silva dreamt about City, but in the end they joined because of money and project.

Dybala doesn't fit in our team.
Rather have the money of lukaku and have a proper RW.

Dybala is not a RW
Let me help you out here.

We play an interchangeable front 3. So none of the front three is confined to their starting positions.
They switch positions throughout, confusing defenses. So in that sense, you don't need a regular RW, instead you get 3 forwards who will utilize their skills to get into scoring positions without being forced to stay at one place on the pitch.

I would have been excited about this transfer in the past but I am feeling very meh about this. ADM and Sanchez have stolen my muppet mojo.

EDIT: Apologies for it being massive, unlike the apparent like-for-like upgrade on our current slow-right-sided-probably-a-number-10-rightwinger

What a dumb swap. We dont learn from our past mistakes.
Doesn't matter what United do they can never win in some fans eyes. I get where you are coming from, but you can guarantee that if Spurs were swapping a player for him, some of our fans would be crying that we weren't all over it.

Let's just wait and see what team Ole assembles and get behind him for the coming season.

As great as this sounds, I'm taking away the key information from Di Marzio that Dybala wants to stay. History shows its not always a good idea to buy Argentines who aren't sold on our club.. Not that they're all the same but I would be much more positive if he was bought into this transfer as much as the clubs are.

Dybala fits our team, he is an hybrid 10/9 and fits perfectly where Lingard and Mata have been playing this preseason.
makes me wonder if we regret giving mata a new deal now. if he comes that makes our attacking line of the 4 infront the CMS up Mata, Lingard, James, Martial, Rashford , Sanchez (yeh hes still here) , Dybala . That doesnt include the likes of Greenwood and a potential deal for Bruno that is apparently also close to completion. Surely Lingards days are numbered if this goes through

Not been enough fantasy line ups on the last few pages, I'd love to see us line up with this team against Chelsea:

De Gea
Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
McTominay - Pogba
Lingard - Dybala - Martial
Rashford

Only big glaring spot left then is right wing.
I'd drop Lingard for James. See how David Luis likes being closed down with that pace.

i agree that we should be apprehensive about a player that doesnt want to come here. I want a player that is comitted to playing here. With that said, if he didnt want to come why did he send his agent all the way here. Curious that one

Yeah, we can sort of stick whoever on RW really considering we kinda don't have one  we'll be fine next year when we sign Sancho though

We haven’t signed either of them. There is no guarantee we are signing both AND keeping Pogba. So why worry about a hypothetical situation?
What? That's the situation that is unfolding. Being a football fan in the Summer is contemplating far greater hypothetical situations than this one.

He doesn't want to leave, juve want to move him (been hearing about it for months before the summer window), he's exploring his options. Can't blame him for not wanting to leave a good thing and regular trophies at juve to come to us, but if we can keep Pogba, i think we have an exciting project that might tempt him to star in.

Juventus are playing at a higher level, have champions league. People say he don't want to come here but I would assume it's more like he needs convincing. Which isn't that big a deal. Players want to see where the club is headed. We've had speculation over Pogba. I think it'd be an interesting move for sure but it could be a great bit of business. If it's doable.

I think one of the major reasons we would take Dybala is that we are selling Pogba, so Woodward desperately need a new "Star" for commercial uses.
We arent selling pogba even if we get Dybala so theres no correlation. Lukaku is the only one going if Dybala arrives.

This cant be real, bro

He's seemed destined for Barca his whole career but with Griez and potentially Neymar back there eventually, he could be here for the long haul. Assuming this isnt total bullshit, which it very well could be

With how many games we're likely to play, 8/9 players for 4 positions doesn't seem so bad. Look at City and how stacked they are with attackers.

ST: Rashford/Dybala/Martial/Greenwood
LW: Martial/James/Sanchez
RW: Dybala/Lingard/James/Mata
AM: Dybala/Pogba/Mata/Gomes

Bruno will likely play the majority of his games in CM alongside Pogba but I guess he can fill in at attacking midfield. I guess the best solution would be to phase out Sanchez and Mata, give Lingard a lesser role and let the rest fight for their positions.

Someone tell me why his agent is talking to us if he doesn't want to leave Juve? "He'd like to stay" What is that all about?

Staying might be his preference but he could also be somewhat open to a new challenge.

I'd take him purely for that reason alone. I think given how interchangeable a lot of those players are in various positions then we should be fine getting minutes for everyone. If the more experienced players don't perform then at least we have the option of dropping them.

It's not curious. There is a difference between not being interested and having beforehand a preference, football fans tend to see things black and white but all decision is more nuanced. Logically a player that is settled in Italy and plays for a great club will prefer to stay if the conditions are correct which means that we are the ones that need to sell him our project and convince him that we are the perfect place for him, that can only happen through discussions with the player or his agent.

That's not necessarily true. Just because his agent is over here doesn't mean that he wants to join. More to do the fact that both Juve and United want this to happen so he's being thrown into it.

I hope you're right of course because i would like him here, and maybe he will settle in when everything is said and done. That Di Maria transfer burned me good and i just don't want another one of those on our hands. On paper it's a fantastic deal for us and i can't quite believe that Juve actually want this to happen. Lukaku for Dybala? Mental.

Nothing worse than Mata especially last season. Play youngster wouldn’t even hurt.

More info from Fabrizio Romano.

Dybala’s agent is at work in UK
- The agent of Paulo Dybala is now in UK. He’s going to talk with Manchester United about a possible deal and especially about the contract bid.
- Paulo since last May has always said to his agents and to Juventus that his desire was to stay. He doesn’t want to leave Juventus. ⚪⚫
- Juventus directors are ready to sell him and that’s why Dybala is considering to start talks about personal terms with other clubs like Man United.
- Dybala will take the decision about his future on next days. Man United are waiting and would like to start talks with Juventus about a swap with Romelu Lukaku (Inter are in tue race for “Big Rom” but still no agreement with Man Utd); Juve are waiting for Paulo’s decision too. ⁉

He can play as a right sided striker which we lack, let's see what pans out in coming days.

I dont think they are that stacked. maybe im missing something. they have 2 strikers in aguero and that brazilian guy. The wing they have sane , sterling and mahrez. Sometimes B silva plays there or midfield . Thats not that much but hey the more the merrier. I just hope there is a plan

If he had an important role at Juve, he would prefer to stay, but if not, he is open to going somewhere where he could be a key player. That somewhere is looking like United is favourites, though I wouldnt be surprised if in that scenario, PSG tries to go for him too and then it's a 50/50 shot between the 2 clubs.

Should note that Dybala had his worst season last season.
