Excellent performance. Our defence is infinitely better with him and Maguire in the team.

Judged him after that England (U23?) game where he was bad and scored an OG. I hope he keeps shutting my mouth, so refreshing to see a proper RB, it's early but at least he looks like one.

Proper full back him, England will have a tough decision over the next 10 years to choose between him and TAA for the right back spot.

Hope to god he doesn't get injured. What a player and what an impact. Love it.

Carried on where he left off in preseason. Emerson was completely shut down, Pulisic..? Did he play? Plus he's inherited the Fellaini chant. Glad for the lad. Such a huge step up from converted wingers.
Funnily enough, I think I've seen that he's a converted winger himself

Huh? I thought he was very good on the ball. He had great control and was a good passer. He's obviously not going to be picking out attacking runs and pinging balls like Scholes was but he looked very assured in his passing.
We'll agree to disagree. Under pressure he didnt look like he knew what to do. Sometimes taking more touches to tame the ball than he was supposed to. Cant really drive forward with the ball too. Just doesnt look a good "footballer".

AWB was great but Emerson was their most dangerous players. That wasn't on AWB though. He didn't get enough support from Lingard/Pereira.

Literally the greatest right back we've ever had. Literally tore up the pitch today.

Very promising debut. Like Maguire, he's very strong on one on one duels.

Was told by a load of people on here before he signed that he wasn't good going forward or on the ball, but pre-season and today have convinced me that's complete nonsense, he's an intelligent footballer and makes good decisions.

Decent game. Need to improve on his decision making going forward but knows exactly what to do if opponents have the ball near him.

He's going to get better going forward, especially when the centre backs get more comfortable with each other's play.

I love AWB - probably more than most people here. But in fairness - he gave Chelsea 2 of their chances today. Emersons in the bar and the one after 20 seconds in the 2nd half. So clearly Maguire was the better player - but he still did good :)

I thought he looked a bit nervy thb, seemed to get caught out of position at lot as well. But hey, first game for United, and he's a young kid
