There is no problem at all in playing youngsters in attack. Their mistakes don’t cost goals conceded (unlike with youngsters in defence or in goal), but there is probability of them playing well.

I would rather keep him than loan him out. Either loan plus obligation to buy or buy. one or two attacking injuries during a busy period, and we are in trouble

Hope it’s a transfer as opposed to a loan. We will be stuck back with him next year if so.

Needs to go.

3 goals in 18 months. We may be short up front if we have injuries, but we can survive until Jan.

If we manage to get rid of Lukuku and Sanchez this summer it will be a bloody great result.

it feels like he doesn’t exist anyway so I’m not really bothered.

Apart from 3 goals and an assist for Smalling at city he’s done genuinely nothing worth the money we paid.

He’s been a big disappointment and nowhere near to the standard we expected.

Time for him to find a retirement league and we move on with somebody younger and hungrier.

Not a hope we buy in January! Even if I did have faith in our board, we would be priced out of anything worth getting. Transfers for clubs in Europe do their dealings in the summer due to players being cup tied etc

I’d be open to him leaving us now but it would have to depend on the terms offered - whilst he would likely be pretty useless to us on the pitch this season, I still think that if we are paying a large amount of his wages or whatever then we shouldn’t make it impossible for us to get some value out of him on the pitch, however unlikely that is in practice.

Cant believe Inter are going to take our trash off our hands
Any chance they take Darmian and Rojo off of our hands?

Didn’t we buy Sanchez in January? The issue around Cup ties players is less relevant than it was than 5 years ago - and besides, who cares if we buy a striker who can’t play in the Euporapointless league?

The point is, if we are short - it’s only 4 months that we have to get through. Quite frankly, I’ll take that if it means getting rid of Alexis.

The alternative is relying on Sanchez!

How many chances will we have to offload Alexis without paying part of his salary. I say let him go. If it means getting Llorente on a 1 year deal to make up the numbers then I would rather take that. Sanchez salary could be geven to 2 top level players.

People saying that we need him for backup, its better to play kids than this guy who has 5 goals in his entire utd career.

The club is making the right moves and Inter are the saviours.

I'd rather play Greenwood, Gomes and Chong instead of Sanchez, to be honest, considering all the circumstances. So please Inter, take him!

Really hope Inter takes him off our hands so that our wages is reduce. If 10-20 million transfer agreed will even be better. That saving alone until Jan can help us buy 2 players in Jan. We will have 4 months to identify 1 midfielder and 1 striker.

You trust Woodward to do it in 4 months? When he couldn't even find a DoF in 7-8?

I always liked AC Milan the most out of the Italian topclubs but if Inter will take Lukaku AND Sanchez away from Manchester United they will be my favorite Italian club.

Please Inter, take him. Im sure he is in better shape than Lukaku!

I really can't understand the reasoning behind this sale.

Martial is our number 9 now so will be upfront a lot more. Rashford could play on the left but as we dont have cover up front, he'll be up there a lot more too.

That then leaves us with only Sanchez on the left?! James could play on the left but then.....we are short on the right.

I know he's had a bad season and a half but with the whole mood at the club changing/our style of football improving, this could be the year he finally steps up. We know what a difference he can make when he's in form from his time at Arsenal, so isn't it worth taking a risk. Even if it's just until January

He is NOT gaining any form. What's the point of holding on to players that were great in the past? If he keeps stinking the place up, then even Inter won't come back for him.

I think it's fair to say, apart from one or two players no one has gained form at United in the last 2 years. If anything a lot went backwards. Lindelof has been nothing like he was at Benfica, Shaw's confidence was shot, Martial has been woefully inconsistent, Fred has been average at best....The list goes on and on.

Sanchez isn't any different. Add to that he spent a lot of time injured last season so never really got a run of games. This is the perfect chance for him to prove himself with our left wing so low on numbers.

I honestly believe if we give him more games and keep the feel good feeling at the club, he can be the difference of at least 1 league position for us.

Yes we are short in numbers, but it would be mental to not let him go if they are offering to pay his full wages. I don't think he can offer is anything tbh. I am pretty sure he's gonna be injured half the time anyway.

He is seriously hampering our wage structure, and we might as well play Greenwood and Gomes instead. They have potential at least, so it's better to give them the minutes.

If this deal goes through, god bless inter for helping us rid of two players with huge wages.

We are in trouble if we ever have to play him anyway. Would rather play a youngster ahead of him, for purely what they can contribute now.

Is Conte trying to deliberately sabotage Inter?

Either that or he's setting himself up for the United job by helping the club clear out the most expensive deadwood before he comes in. 4D chess.

No. No no no.
Same was said last year that its his time to prove etc etc he NEVER showed anything. Never showed any glimpse of quality. What's the point of keeping an injury prone player who is supposedly your highest earner and has scored 5 goals in 18 months?

Enough is enough. He is done. Declined faster than Rooney. Let the club move forward

We should have added a forward and RW. That would have allowed us to let Lukaku and Sanchez leave. Instead our embarrassing run on the transfer market means that if Sanchez leave then we will be very light upfront

However I am pretty sure that little Ole will be more then willing to commit another u turn on this and support his departure irrespective of the situation up front. No wonder why Woodward seems to love him so much

Absolutely puzzled by this as well. I can see how he thinks he can bring the best out of Lukaku. In the right system he could still work out. But Sanchez? He hasn't looked good since before leaving Arsenal!

Agreed. While I don't rate Lukaku, I can at least see some sense in that transfer, but I don't understand how someone can look at Alexis over the last 18 months and possibly still think there's a footballer inside there.

I made a post in the Lukaku thread that Conte's last two striker signings being Morata and Lukaku doesn't speak well for his eye for a striker. Imagine if the third person he added to that trio was Sanchez

I’m mystified by some of the comments on here. The window is closed. If Sanchez leaves we can’t replace him. Why would anyone want a player to be unavailable for selection by the manager? If Ole thinks Sanchez can help, he selects him, if not, he doesn’t. What do we gain by removing that option?

Rumor has it that if Sanchez leaves, we may give Llorente a contract (as he's a free agent) and a (plan b) different option in attack.
