Great match so far. Serena might drop a level now though. Not gonna be an easy comeback, Andreescu is just crushing her when it comes to winners.

Impressive from Andreescu. I read a bit before the match saying she won't be overawed by the occasion and she's certainly shown that.

Serena’s first serve has been shocking so far

She’s being outplayed once again in a final

Definitely a difference between the finals she had with Halep, Osaka and Kerber as I think Serena has played okay today, just a few too many unforced errors and the double faults.

I’m pretty sure she can’t handle her body not doing what she’s used to it being able to do. That’s why she gets so pissed off.

Which injury excuse will she use today? Or will she play the mother/feminist card again?

Nah, definitely a mental thing now. Lost 4 finals in a row now.
Do you not think my point has stood from the first final though? Especially the US Open last year. She just wasn’t used to losing in such fashion.

Bit of both. 24 is definitely playing on her mind but she’s clearly not the player she was either
Yes but there has been a clear drop in her level between other games in the GS and the final. Even in this match, she seems to play the best when she seems down and out and pressure is almost off her. She has been a tad unlucky in that in all 4 of these finals none of the opponents were even a bit nervous going in.

Serena can't serve to save her life right now, let's see if she can stretch this to another game.

The two Wimbledon finals were definitely down to her struggling physically, she came in to both having played very few matches and obviously she's getting older, and she got run off the court by two of the best retrievers in the game. I'm not sure she would have won either US Open final even without the pressure because she's been outplayed by two brilliant young talents but the meltdown she had last year and the fact that she's hit so many double faults on key points today would indicate that the pressure has got to her in the two US Open finals.

And just as the pressure come on..she starts to choke again. 2 double faults in a game..5-5 now though.
