He will be gone soon but the whole experiment has set us back again if he’s not there to oversee what we have tried to do. Basically we got rid of multiple experienced players without buying any replacements, and then tried to stick young players on our bench and have them integrate into the team as season goes. If we now try to go for a new manager who would be supposed to take over and win, I don’t think many would be able to achieve that with this group. Our squad is completely ruined.
That's exactly what he tried to do. It might have worked, too, had the squad stayed relatively injury-free for the majority of the season. Clearly, he didn't account for losing his most influential players at such an early stage of the season.

In any case, I've changed my vote to sack (sorry Ole) as we are showing relegation form at present and I don't see any way for Ole to steady the ship. He looks dejected sitting on the sidelines, with that same bemused expression on his face as if he hasn't any idea what's going on. Similar to the one Jose wore last season and LVG before him.

I'll never root against United but a fluke victory against Liverpool could be extremely damaging for the long term future of the club.
Unless he's already gone by then.
Rehire Jose... sign a rested and potentially recharged Wenger... let LVG play caretaker...
Please just don't sign Giggs and start this amateur but sentimental favorite process all over again.

I can’t keep supporting this club if it hangs on to mistakes like Ole for so so long. It’s ridiculous and heartbreaking.

That's fair enough and i have backed Ole so far, but even considering the state of the squad and our injuries, both the results and the football at display has simply been shocking after that great run in the start. Woody and the board are clearly a problem, but that does not exonerate Ole either. I truly wish it was different and i want to hope he can turn this around, but there is simply no hope in sight at the moment
No it doesn't exonerate Ole. But we can't keep doing half a job of a rebuild.

Maybe I'm reading Ole wrong. But it seems to me that he doesn't have a massive ego. He's prepared to be the fall guy if necessary. I'm assuming that Ole gave the greenlight for us to sell 2 forwards, after our transfer window had closed. He will have known that this would affect our final PL position, but was more interested in the long term health of the club, than his own cv.

Because it's a job that requires qualification, just like the manager's post.
What qualifications? And what qualities are lacking for Ole in his managerial role that exclude him?

Maguire, Tuanzebe, Young and Rojo. Was ANYONE else thinking "hmm yeah let's go with Young-Rojo-Maguire-Tuanzebe"? ANYONE?
Surely most sane people were thinking "Rojo-Maguire-Tuanzebe-Young". Instead clueless Solskjaer disrupts the entire back 4 when he only had to change the position of ONE player.

Once you pick a team you stick with them through thick and thin, don’t be that guy, no one likes that guy.

Well #oleout is trending on twitter in the UK, so that will be one social media stat for Ed to ignore

Presumably because we're needlessly nostalgic. The idea that Solskjaer should be DoF is one of the worst and weirdest things I've seen paraded on here.

We should just get rid of him, he's doing a terrible job and we're not going anywhere under him. He doesn't need time because he's a rubbish manager.
It is quite infuriating, isn't it? I don't think I've ever seen our fans push someone so obviously unqualified to quite crucial positions, be it the manager or DOF role. The bare minimum with Ole somehow translates to him being some revolutionary decision maker that we've missed for years. He signed Maguire, Wan Bissaka, and James FFS. It doesn't take a genius to see that Maguire and Wan Bissaka were going to be better than the crap defenders we have at our club. We ended up getting fleeced by Leicester for Maguire, blew our entire budget on three players, and let go of players who would have been able to help us without replacing them. And then our club/management had the audacity to say that a player like Bruno Fernandes loses possession too much.

Surely we haven't reached the stage where fans are actively wishing to lose against Liverpool in the vein hope it results in Ole's sacking.

Surely not.

Would be interesting to if those who have voted to keep him would have voted differently if he has no previous links to the club. Eg say it was Pochettino who took over from Jose, with exactly the same run and subsequent results as Ole, would you change from keep to sack? So remove the club legend status from the equation.

Yeah, writing's on the wall now. Especially after that DDG interview. Get Wenger in until the end of the season, we have nothing to play for anyway. See who's available this summer, and for God's sake get a DOF to plan this.

Can you believe that we have fallen that far that we would consider him? And yes, is the answer after today's shambles.
Other than he is an Arsenal Icon what really speaks against him? The last seasons maybe but that's it.
I'd rather see him in Dortmund though.

Actually Man Utd. needs more than a simple manager change. There must be a change in structure starting with the BoD.

I can’t believe the stuff I used to read on here and on the reddevils sub.

“He has a plan” - No he fecking doesn’t he’s clueless.

“He has a clear style of play” - He was appointed as our permanent manager in March and I still have no idea how he wants his team to play. Everyone out on the pitch looks lost ever single game.

“He made some good signings” - Well Maguire and Wan Bissaka weren’t really unknown players before coming here, were they? We literally blew our entire budget on them yet he’s somehow a transfer genius.

“Look at how Klopp transformed Liverpool when he was given time” - Klopp has more managerial talent in his fingernail than Ole does.

“It’s a work in progress” - No it isn’t. We’re not making any fecking progress, we’re going back and fast.

Keep being blinded by sentimentality. I’m sure you’ll win some internet points for sticking with the manager.
Great summation of the worst of their tiresome drivel.

I'd say there's probably around five or six posters that are the worst culprits.

Woodward is sitting there, throwing points down the drain, waiting in the hope that Ole can finally be the one to prove him right. He does this with every manager but it never works out because (pro tip) Ed Woodward will never be proven right.

He's done, judging from De Gea's interview he knows Solskjaer is out of his depth and clueless.

I want Ole out as fast as possible and if that means losing 20-0 to Liverpool then so be it.

Feck it, bring Wenger in for a bit, or anyone with a bit of personality to be honest it doesn't really matter so long as we avoid relegation, and then evaluate proper candidates after Christmas, to be appointed in June.

And in the mean time sort out the fecking hierarchy and structure on the football side. Get Woodward out of football management and back into his tractor deals where he belongs.

It should be done ASAP, there’s an international break and the Liverpool game is a write off whoever is our manager. That gives some time to make a decision and sort out an appointment.

We gave Moyes, LVG and Jose too long just need to make decision now. It won’t solve all our issues, Woodward should go, the squad needs gutting and lots of investment. But Ole isn’t good enough and that won’t change, it’s not his fault he probably would have stayed mangling in Norway for rest of his career and part of reason he was probably made caretaker was because he wouldn’t be a viable candidate to get the job full.

He was taking us to relegation last season
What are you on about? We were 6th when he was sacked. 14 points off relegation zone.

We're now 12th 2 points from relegation zone and playing Liverpool next.

He has to go and an international break is a perfect time to do it. I'm desperately clinging on to the hope that they reach a mutual financial agreement for him to resign.
This season will go from bad to worse with him still here, he is simply not up to the task.
